Jumpy brightness slider

II have undergone a strange behavior with my iPad pro. When I go to the brightness level by using the slider in the control at the bottom of the screen Center (the white one you access when you pull up), the cursor will be often "jump" away when I take my finger and find themselves either slightly higher or slightly lower than what I wanted. This happens about 75% of the time and I can't reproduce it in the display and light settings pane; It only occurs when you use the control panel. Everyone knows something similar?

Thank you

Yes.

The same questions also happens with the volume slider in the rollout Control Center!

Frustrating.

  • iMac darkens when in display mode using target (TDM) and the lack of brightness slider!

    Hi all

I use a MacBook Pro (13 "to end 2011) and iMac (27", by the end of 2012). Both are up to date, running El Capitan 10.11.5. They are connected with a thunderbolt cable in order to use the iMac as a second screen (TDM).

Now, when I press CMD + F2 to the iMac, iMac gets used as second screen as expected, but it goes really dark! He's not black, you can still see the desktop but on a sunny day, it's really hard to see anything. Now, it's pretty embarrassing, but the second part of the question makes it a pain in the *. When the iMac is dark, I always go to the system preferences and open the settings for the display. I can see a window with the parameters for the iMac, but there is no cursor for the brightness! There is no way to make it brighter!

The only solution is to disable the target (CMD + F2) just display mode to enable it again after a few seconds. Sometimes I have to activate the TDM twice but sometimes it takes 4 or 5 loops toggle just to see the brightness slider!

Here is a screenshot of the settings without the cursor window

And that's what it looks like after a few loops, and then I can adjust the brightness.

Any ideas why this happens? Any advice on a possible solution? Why - what is darkening the iMac? Why is the cursor missing?

  • Satellite A350-13D - brightness slider suddenly disappeared

    Hello

I got a toshiba satellite a350-13d, with windows 7, installed long ago worked perfectly out of the FN keys work. However it was not my problem, that I could change the brightness of the screen with the cursor provided by windows...

But... All of a sudden, my brightness slider is over. I had not installed the new drivers, windows stopped showing me the ability to change the brightness of the screen (by clicking on the battery status icon in the traybar what he used to say 'change the brightness of the screen', and if I click on 'other options', he went too). Does anyone have a solution for this?

I have already installed all the drivers from the toshiba site, so this isn't the problem.

    Hello

Strange may this problem s registry or something like that

You can change the brightness of the screen here:

Panel of-> all items in Control Panel-> display-> brightness control (left)

Otherwise, you might try to get the FN buttons work.
To do this, you must earn 7 Vientiane (value package) and utility Toshiba Flash Cards for Win 7.

  • Print area setting of the printer - brightness slider module

When I send my photos to the lab for printing, in order to obtain the final print to match the exposure on my screen, I have to increase the exposure in the develop module before rendering my last image to send to the lab.  In general, I add environ.4 to any exposure setting I already put in the develop module.  This usually gives me a perfect exhibition match.  Thereafter, I must then remember to adjust the exposure back on all my photos that I send to the lab.  Otherwise, I do sometimes exposure increase on a virtual copy, but then I have a ton of virtual copies extra clutter things.

I recently learned in the print module, can I increase the brightness with the brightness slider.  If I print to jpg in the print module and use the brightness slider, I could produce my lab files and eliminate 'cleansing' operations mentioned above.  However, I don't really know how the brightness setting printer slider relates to exposure of the develop module slider.  That is, what each cursor movements are considered as equivalent - if I normally increase exposure de.4 in the develop module, how can I increase the brightness slider worms in order to match that?  I would increase the brightness of 10, 15, 20 slider... ???   I have no idea!   How these two cursor relate?

    Any help would be appreciated!

    Thank you!

    Bruce

PS. because I know someone will ask, YES, I have corrected my monitor color.  However, my screen is VERY bright and I worked with the CC seller to lower the brightness of my screen and 90 lumens, but it's still too light and we cannot safely he set lower without risking damage to the screen.  That's why I regret to make the manual exposure increase.

Rather than having to remember to reset the brightness, you can use the soft proof feature and create a virtual copy and reduce the brightness on the virtual copy. Then you can decide when / if to remove the virtual copies.

  • Lack of brightness slider

Hi, I have a HP 840 G1, Windows 7 Pro 64 bit.  I just updated the display driver adapter to the last list on the HP website, Version: 10.18.10.3993 this may have fixed a problem where the "sleep mode" would be empty only the screen, not to put the computer on standby.

Now, there is a missing feature I'd like to take back.  When I use the fn + f9 or f10 to set the brightness of the screen, the bar of the slider that appears usually (before the update driver) to the lower part of the screen is no longer available.  This feature has been removed or is there a way to activate it.

    Thank you.

  • Portege R930 brightness increases when the shiny things are displayed

I use a Portege R930 with the 2nd lowest brightness. I noticed that when something bright is displayed, the overall screen brightness adjusted upwards by about 5 tiny slices to speed increment of 1 / second.

Increments of brightness are not nearly as pronounced as the steps in the brightness slider, but it's there. And very annoying.
I can't find any mention of this 'feature' online. Is it possible to disable it?

    Hello

I put t know if your laptop was equipped with the graphics card AMD but the problem, you take it all sounds a bit like a future provided by AMD GPU called: AMD vari-bright.
Vari-bright save energy consumption by optimising contrast image on the internal LCD screen AMD computers.

This feature can be used if the computer is running in battery mode, using the internal LCD only or PowerPlay settings under mode battery is set to maximize autonomy.

The Vari-Bright feature can be turned on and off in CCC.

  • Impossible to add an external monitor or adjust the brightness of the screen: Pavilion dv7-4031TX (Windows 7)

    Hello

I recently replaced both hard drives of HDD2K12, which meant I had to re-enstall Windows 7. Since that time, I have no options more in using an external monitor or even the brightness of the screen. The computer does not recognize the monitor when I Plug and all my drivers are up to date.

Can you make suggestions that could help to solve these two problems?

    Kind regards

    Peter

Thanks to find the links but I could not find the drivers I need for a Pavilion dv7-4031TX.

However I finally managed to fix the problem. Let me summarize what has been my problem.

    (1) I could not adjust the brightness of the screen by using the function keys f2 and f3.

    (2) I couldn't find the brightness slider if it was generally... i.e. (control Panel\Hardware and Options of Sound\Power)

    (3) my laptop would not recognize an external monitor.

    How I solved the problem:

    1 > pass.

    http://h10025.www1.HP.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=ob-95107-1 & CC = in the & DLC = in & LC = on & os = 4063 & Product = 4253423 & sw_lang =

and go to the graphics driver and download the graphics driver and follow the directions. At the end of the installation you will be asked to restart the computer.

0nce you have restarted your computer, you should be able to adjust the brightness of the screen using the fn keys or the brightness slider in the window 'power Option '.

    2 > Activting 2nd monitor

Click on Device Manager... At start-> right click on 'Computer' and click 'properties '. Click on "Device Manager". Now click on "monitors".

Now connect the exernal monitor to your laptop while watching where the monitor icon appears under "monitors". It should appear as 'Generic PNP monitor'.

Now, right-click on it and select "update driver software... "then search automatically for updated drivers. Install the new drivers. You should see the generic 'PNP monitor' name change to another name.

3 > restart your computer. You should find that after doing all this, you should be back to normal.

  • AT200 - drop in brightness problems

    Hello world!

Recently, I noticed that there is a problem with the brightness of my Tablet (AT200-100).
When I use it for a while, the brightness begins to fall down by itself.
Not because of the 'auto' function, because the ambient light continues to be the same.

The problem is that the "brightness" that I can select continues to fall down, until it reaches approximately 10%! After that, I can not select again more than 10%, the brightness slider does just not go right, so I can only choose from 0% to 10%.

As I saw that, I saw in the 'quick-settings-clock-menu"how the brightness slider was falling down and down, without being able to restore it to its original position.

After a while (a long time) with the suspended shelf, I can choose the brightness once again without any problem...

Moreover, recently the Tablet starts to become much warmer before, or at least that is my impression. Maybe the heat is the cause of the problem?

    Everyone is having this problem?
I'll try to start to uninstall apps, just in case one of them is the problem.

    Any idea oder?
    Thanks in advance!

    Hello

Unfortunately, I m not AT200 owner therefore cannot share my experience with this device, but it would be interesting to know if one of the installed app causes this problem
Would be interesting to know if factory reset would solve this

Brightness slider is missing from the control panel.

    Information on the drivers installed:

    Hello:

Normally do not have installed the graphics drivers is the reason for the problem of being stuck on maximum light intensity and not being able to put the PC in "sleep" or be able to adjust the resolution of the screen.

Then... First install the Intel chipset driver and restart.  The second listed file is the auto install file.

    https://Downloadcenter.Intel.com/download/20775/Intel-chipset-device-software-INF-Update-utility-

Then, install the graphics driver and restart.  You want the 3rd listed file...

I also see a problem with the USB controller...

  • 520 Touchsmart computer: No adjustment of the brightness on my PC HP Touchsmart

I have tried everything I can find on the forums, but nothing will make light work settings - can anyone help?

The brightness slider didn't do nothing - HP are quickly driving me crazy!

    Hi there @Diarmuid21,

That the Forums are with you!  It's a good place to find the help you need, other users, the HP experts and other members of the support staff.  I understand that you have difficulties with the setting of the brightness of your screen. I'm happy to help you with this.

Please report the number of complete product for your computer. Check out the following, if you need assistance with this information. HP desktop PC - how can I find my model number, serial number or product?

Have you updated all drivers available for your computer?  If this is not the case, try to use the HP Support Assistant for available updates. Computers HP - using HP Support Assistant (Windows 10, 8, 7)

If you have updated the drivers and there is no change with the brightness setting, then it is likely the display driver is not totally compatible with Windows 10. In this case, try the following:

    1. search for the Device Manager and run it.

    2. go to the display of the maps section

    3. right click on the display driver, and choose Update driver software

    4. in the menu of the interface choose "Browse my computer for driver software".

5 choose "Let me pick from a list of drivers on my computer".

    6. in the next screen, select "Microsoft base Display Adapter" in the list under the section "Show compatible hardware".  then click on "Next".

    7. the driver must be installed and check if the brightness slider works for you.

Please let me know if it works for you and if it does not solve your problem, please mark this message as a solution. Bravo would be appreciated as well.

    Hello!

I can't control the brightness of the screen of my laptop. The problem started about 2-3 days ago.

I'm trying to fit it through the keyboard, and also through the power Panel, but it is still on the minimum brightness...

I also noticed that the brightness of the keyboard keys are not functionnig well: when I click on one of them (more or less brightness brightness), it shows me the brightness slider, but he won't go up or down by pressure of the keys... only if I drag with the mouse. And yet, no adjustment of the brightness.
