4. Select the audio device you want as the audio device by default, and then click set as default.
5. click on the Properties button, then select the levels tab and make sure that the volume is at 100 and not dumb.
6. click OK to save your settings and close the Sound dialog box.
Method 2. Reload the current sound driver

In the Device Manager dialog box, click the Action menu, and then click find the hardware changes. You receive a message that States that a hardware device is being installed, and then the uninstalled audio device appears in Device Manager.
Close the Device Manager dialog box.
Method 3 Let us also ensure that your Audio drivers are up to date.
Click Start, click Control Panel, and then double-click System.
Click the hardware tab, and then click Device Manager.
If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type the password, or click on continue.
Click sound, video and game controllers , to expand.
Under sound, video and game controllers, double-click the entry for your sound card, and then click the driver tab.
Note If a driver tab is not present, the entry that you clicked on Sub audio, video and game controllers may not be the correct entry for your sound card. Try to click any additional entries listed under sound, video and game controllers.
Click Update driver software.
Follow the drier on the software update wizard to update the sound card driver.

He throws error numbers (Sorry didn't write them) and said that the modem is already current usage or other computer is busy. My audio does not work. It worked before I re-install Windows XP. What should I do? I'm supposed to have an audio installation disc? I'm new on the technical aspect of computers, so I know only the basics?
Using the Device Manager is a good way to get the drivers, but if you do a clean install on a computer or laptop, you must download the supplied drivers initially installed on the computer or laptop to the manufacturer. that is, if you have a Dell, then go to the Dell website.
the site Web of HP/Compaq
the Site of Asus
Acer site
Alienware website (Now owned by Dell)
eMachines Web site
IBM Web site
Sony Web site
Toshiba Web siteHave I no all the em? Anyway, if you have a driver supplied with the computer disc, use this cuz he'll have original manufacturer drivers and the software that you get on the website anyway.
Also, if it's a Dell, you would like to have a look and print their Instructions on how to install the drivers, Dell cuz drivers must be installed in a specific order.
Good luck. -
I uninstalled my laptop vista & installed XP now the internnet does not work, cannot set up
Unable to connect to the internet after re install Xp. excellent signal level.
Are you really connected to the wireless, and that's how you know that the signal is good?
If you are connected but internet is not working, or you are having trouble authentication you may need to install Service Pack 3 for Windows XP. In my view, WPA wireless security is not introduced to Windows XP up to Service Pack 3.
To test this, log into your router from another system or connect directly to it and set up the WEP security. If you can connect and authenticate correctly that is the question.
I hope this helps!

Hello
What version of Windows are you using?
- If your laptop uses the Realtek HD audio drivers then try to update the Realtek HD audio drivers for the last one is on the site Web of Realtek (who seems to have a lot of later Toshiba support site). After updating to the latest Realtek HD drivers, open the DD Realtek Audio Manager and enable "Loudness equalization.
- Turn off the laptop (not a hibernation or sleep), Remove the battery and the adapter Plug and press the power on/off (nothing should happen, but it could fulfil all power remaining inside the laptop). Wait five to ten minutes and then reinsert both and reboot the laptop. For some, it seems that putting into hibernation and or "sleep" mode on these laptops cause the audio drivers to behave strangely.
You can also try to go to Device Manager > click on the< next="" to="">
Right-click on the driver and update or roll back to the driver

Hello
You may need to check the keyboard for a mute button and press it. Otherwise, it might be a combination of keys. You can also try to change the settings of volume and mute in the OS Control Panel > sounds and Audio devices > Volume. If everything fails, the search with the keyboard model or model of the PC/laptop or post in the forums hardware/OS can help.

Satellite P100-240: speakers do not work
I have a Satellite P100-240 with built-in speakers. Recently the speakers worked intermittently with no control over the volume (the volume was extremely low). Now the speakers do not work at all, either from a cd or a sound system.
Can you help me?
Hello
You must know that in such cases is really not possible to give a precise explanation. If the audio device is installed correctly and in Device Manager is not listed as problematic there must be a problem with the settings.
First try to check all the sound settings and make sure that the mute box is not selected. Also check dial volume control. If everything is set to max level and no MUTE is ENABLED, please check the features that you use headphones.
Please post the results.

There is an automatic update of Windows on my computer today. Now my speakers do not work with Firefox or Chrome, but they do not work with Internet Explorer, I prefer not to use as my browser. What has happened, how can I get that back?
Click on the link below. Enter your product number as that indicated on the Service tag on the bottom of the laptop (can be under the battery). You can also get the product number by pressing Fn + ESC key. After you enter the PN, click Next, then choose the software & Drivers. On the next page use the menu drop down to select your (probably Windows 7 64-bit) operating system. A list will fill with the drivers. Download & install the latest Audio driver.
