Satellite U500: Volume + button glue IT when it is connected to the power adapter

I have a problem with the touch buttons on my U500. I have already returned the first laptop that I bought for the Exchange.

The question is this:
When the power cord is connected (without worrying if connected to the wall) the "Volume +" button will stick THERE.
The volume will continue to rise, it cannot be muted or turned down as the + keeps repeating.
Without the power cable inserted the works of buttons as expected (normally).

I made the new installation of recovery discs - do not set (under Vista)
Then another new installation Win7 upgrade and this new PC is having the same problem.
At first, I thought a hardware fault (the new PC worked fine for awhile).
But now the second PC has the same symptoms I suspect a software/driver problem.

I've seen suggestions for similar questions to:
Re-install "Toshiba common Modules" but I can't find it on the support site for U500 in Australia.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks to you all.

What version of BIOS is installed?

Try to update the BIOS.

    Hey,.

I have a Toshiba Satellite M40x-189, which is about 18 months old. Recently, I had too replace the battery, but now it seems that my adapter had fried itself. He refuses now too charge my cell phone for more than a few minutes and the part of the adapter that goes into the laptop becomes ridiculously hot even after a few minutes.

I can't find where too much to buy a new adapter, I get results, but adapters look totally different, can anyone tell me if Toshiba has changed the cards and where too find a power adapter.

    This may help - adapter PA1650 - T 02:100 - 240V AC 50-60 Hz 65W / 3 pins with 19V DC output.

Also, I find that on the occasions, my laptop just cut. In the middle of everything what I do, and the laptop itself would become so hot, it can't be touched for a few minutes, interestingly, this only happens when the laptop is charging. This problem is not related too my adapter problem, because its been happening for a good month now.

    Thank you, in advance.

    Hello

I saw your first thread on the power adapter and that other users already suggested the power adaptor can be ordered from the maintainer authorized Toshiba in your country!
If you n t know how to find the service provider allowed in your country, please take a look on the homepage of European support of Toshiba. You will find a link to the database ASP.

As you have already said the laptop automatically stops downs have nothing to do with the AC adapter.
I agree with you for me, it looks like overheating!
Usually, this happens if fans and cooling modules cannot run with maximum efficiency.
Dust may prevent the complete rotating fan!

I recommend to use the vacuum against the bars of cooling hose to clean the fans!
    It should help!
    But please be careful.

  • Re: Satellite P850 full face feels 'sparkling' when it is connected to the power supply

    Hello

    I recently bought a P850 138.
Whenever the power supply is connected and turned on the laptop case computer feels strange to the touch, and if you move your hand through it, as you often eventually do during the strike, etc., you get this weird 'static' y feeling.

When you are disconnected from the power grid the sensation continues for a short while, but soon after the case feels just like normal metal again.

I guess that something happens which is originally the case become statically charged, but does anyone have any ideas as to why what is happening? Is this a common problem?

    Any ideas?

Thank you very much in advance for your answers

    Hi neh23

It's the first time I read on this subject and in my opinion its definitely not a portable common behavior I think you should get in touch with a Toshiba service provider in your country to check the laptop.

  • How to control the battery charge when you are connected to the power adapter?

I post here because I want to know if there is any software option that I can use to control on my load while I use the charger and the dough.

    EXPLAIN

You know in IBM ThinkPad there are some utilities can help you master the power to CUT the battery charge and keep on the power of the charger and the battery is always on standby if it is OFF the bettery then work and never lose anydata

I want to control the load while I'm working with battery and charger at the same time.

    I hope that claire ;)

    Hello

It of not possible to control the battery charge using any software.
The battery will begin to charge if the adapter has been connected to the laptop and it will stop the charge process after the adapter has been disconnected or if the battery is full.

  • Satellite L650-12Z: led does not light up when it is connected to the power source

My L650 doesn't show the white light anymore when the cable is connected.
The connectors are clean, and the adapter does not work.

The laptop still works on the farm (when he was still in power in).

Also without the battery, there is no white light indicating that the laptop is connected to the domain controller.

Anyone know what could be the problem and how to solve?

    Hello

Battery is charging while the AC adapter is plugged?
Are you sure that the adapter is OK?

If the battery would be charged correctly and if the laptop works ok, only connected to the power adapter (without the battery) the a problem with the frame of the LED may be possible
But in this case only the technician must test these parts

  • My Satellite goes into battery mode despite being connected to the power adapter

Y at - there anyone out there who can help me, please!

I bought a Satellite a couple of years ago which worked well for a while - however, it has started to overheat a lot and kept stop without reason. After many searches on the net, I discovered that the fans were very likely blocked with dust? After you clean the laptop worked like a dream and as a Bunny happy I was!

However, now a new problem has been its ugly reappearance - for some weird reason the laptop suddenly, without warning, past in dominant mode of battery despite being connected to the power adapter? He refuses to "acknowledge" that the adapter is plugged drains the battery quickly and then stops?

I tried once more looking for an answer and it seems that I am not alone in suffering from this problem? I read that it is perhaps a bad connection between the adapter and the motherboard, but it would be expensive to fix? Others have said to try a new adapter, but I tried from another laptop and it still happens? I hesitate to implement local repair because sometimes, this problem may occur after half an hour and other times, that won't happen for hours and hours and it is difficult to explain the problem?

There seems to be no rhyme or reason, but to crazy me on a regular basis!

    HI Deb,

It is a common problem and can have several causes. The most common are a common defective soldering on the motherboard (where the socket is attached) and it can also be caused by a bad connection between the AC plug (at the end of the cable) and the socket on the laptop.

Unfortunately, the standard response from most repairers is just to replace the motherboard, probably because it's faster for them and produced more revenue that comes to fix the connection.

I solved this problem on my SA30 by pinching the cable ca to the back of my laptop in order to prevent any movement or tension on the connector. Unfortunately this will not help if the socket is already damaged, but it can reduce the incidence of the problem to occur.

    Kind regards

  • Satellite L500-1UU - disconnect the battery when it is connected to the AC adapter / CC

    Hello world

I have purshaced new Toshiba Satellite L500-1UU
    CPU: Intel (r) Core i3 CPU M330 2.13 GHz
    Physical memory: 4096MB RAM
Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium 6.1.7600

My question is: remove the battery when I use my computer laptop while its connected to the AC adapter would be wise or not? This would increase or decrease the life of the battery, or it will not affect anything?

Is i3 processors have a technique of centrino disconnect battery power whent, it is fully charged?

What do you think of this?

    Hi Khaild Essam,

I agree with Akuma. There is no problem, remove the battery when the AC/DC adapter is connected. If you can do it. In addition the battery charge will be stopped if it s at full charge. The laptop consumes energy to AC/DC adapter only.

If you remove the battery and work with AC/DC adapter only, the battery life will be improved a little because it s not in its use.

I found an interesting document for you:

  • Satellite A200 - STARTING problems, freezes on the connection of the power adapter

My 3 YO A200 (PSAF3A-08202D has developed a problem with starting.
I can start on battery power with WINDOWS VISTA BUSINESS (after 10 attempts, but freezes immediately when the power adapter is plugged in.)
Display sometimes boots wide-screen, but mostly freezes before windows welcome.

When running, the battery produces about 1 to 2 hours before a complete evacuation.
When executing a battery, computer freezes when I plug Charger AC/DC immediately and going with my A100 charger as an alternative.

Initial problem was a faulty hard drive and super hot air flow due to fluff the cooling block fan.
Tech replaced original 120G HDD with 500 G and reloaded at the factory. works well for 3 months, then started with the same problems so conclude original disk HARD was just a secondary issue.

So maybe fixed I overheated components on the motherboard. Reset of data cards initially fixed a problem starting but is gradually degraded.

Reading through the forums seems that there is a huge amount of these laptops with similar issues. Is this a design flaw, like my other Satellite A100 is solid as a rock. All forums, which suggests resetting the cpu is running slow or be disconnected seem to be temporary repairs. Boot in safe mode and reset the default settings have no effect.

A suggestion that a capacitor is at fault seems to be the fix is valid but which involves specialized tools is not available locally. Local agent of Harvey Norman for Toshiba are best part of unnecessary because they can send in Australia from Toshiba. Machine has been close to $2000 and is now worth Zip.

I am unable to do anything with this machine, as all the ways of upgrading or resetting calls for AC power available and running.

I'm about to do radical things and hope that this forum can enlighten us.

    Hi Mickaël

You might be right. It seems that the motherboard is affected.
Don't know why but higher temperature can still affect the internal parts.
The temperature may increase if cooling fans n t working correctly. For example dust or debris leads to a higher temperature because cooling air cannot circulate properly.

I have to clean my laptop's cooling grilles from time to time using a jet of compressed air. This allows to keep the temperature at the lower level.
Of course the internal temperature is not always a reason for portable computers hardware malfunction equipment can begin to malfunction as always in an other products too: TVs, cars, game consoles

I bought an extended warranty for my laptop, also for my LCD TV mercy always if a high-end product begin to malfunction and in the case of a warranty claim, the fault can be fixed free of charge.

  • Windows does not load and displays a black screen when it is connected to the power supply

Original title - Windows Vista running on my laptop Sony VAIO

Trying to turn on my laptop using the built in battery nothing happens.  When the laptop is connected to the power supply and turned on Windows does not.  It shows something in the sense that it does not properly off.  It tries to load back to a system restore point before the last stop, but seems to fail again during this process.  All that is displayed is a black screen. Currently the power on light is on, the battery light is on, but the drive activity light is off.

Yet once again, I switched on the laptop and finally the Startup Repair process is automatically called.  After the display of the bar to attempt repairs, the system has been repaired successfully.  As a result, the I ran my Norton anti-virus, followed by Windows Updatesoftware.

    Hello

I saw this kinds of problems occur with the power strips and even UPS systems. And some similar questions have
been solved using them actually, especially the UPS. If the power strip has important circuit protection
He'll probably bad or you have very low power at first on this AC circuit.

Solution is not to use the tape and maybe get a UPS with brown-out solution.

    I hope this helps.
