I recently had to re - install Windows XP on my computer and lost all my stored programs. Now my speakers do not work. The control panel says no audio device. What should I do to recover my audio? None

My audio does not work. It worked before I re-install Windows XP. What should I do? I'm supposed to have an audio installation disc? I'm new on the technical aspect of computers, so I know only the basics?

Using the Device Manager is a good way to get the drivers, but if you do a clean install on a computer or laptop, you must download the supplied drivers initially installed on the computer or laptop to the manufacturer. that is, if you have a Dell, then go to the Dell website.
the site Web of HP/Compaq
the Site of Asus
Acer site
Alienware website (Now owned by Dell)
eMachines Web site
IBM Web site
Sony Web site
Toshiba Web site

Have I no all the em? Anyway, if you have a driver supplied with the computer disc, use this cuz he'll have original manufacturer drivers and the software that you get on the website anyway.
Also, if it's a Dell, you would like to have a look and print their Instructions on how to install the drivers, Dell cuz drivers must be installed in a specific order.
Good luck.

    Hello

Your Store account is independent of any installation of Windows 8. If you have downloaded or bought all the apps store, this information is saved in the store.

To reinstall your applications after reinstalling.

    1. open the store and make sure that you are connected with your Store account (press the Windows key + I, then select your account).

2 on the main screen, right click and select your applications on the top toolbar.

3 in the drop-down Menus, select applications and the sort by name.

4 in the results, click each application that you want to reinstall , and then click the icon to install the toolbar at the bottom.

Note: If you have a very large number of applications to reinstall, select a few at a time to reinstall.

    Hello

There are a few things that you would have to do to install XP instead of Vista:

    1. contact the manufacturer of your computer and see if the XP drivers are available for your computer model to make sure that XP has worked properly in this regard.

    2. If the XP Drivers are available, buy a XP disk operating system / license. Try local computer repair shops because Microsoft sells more than XP and online sale buy you pirated copies can cause. Be very careful.

3 XP runs with 512 MB of RAM, although a little slow by today's standards.

    4. do a clean install of XP. Make sure that all your data is backed up as the hard will be cleaned of everything during the Installation of XP.

  • I found in my logs event before I even had my PC delivered they had a problem installing Windows 7 Premium 64-bit, and this error message is listed under Windows-Setup: 0xC000000D

I have nothing else problems with my new system had in the past 2 months and have done two factory restores.  I get the "your video driver has failed but recovered" several times a day, it progresses freezing and, sometimes, the old bue screen.  I worked with the manufacturer and they took all original event logs before we did the restoration of 1.  After a Microsoft Update, it was even worse that I did a second on 10/18.  You went out with an update again and things seem to be OK until yesterday when it started happening again and again.  So I went in the event logs to see what they said and I found the error message a week before the system arrived even at my doorstep.  It seems whenever I did a factory restore it just keeps reloading the same problem!  Since they send you the REAL DISKS any more there is no way own things off and really repair the enrire thing - if it's still possible for an average user.  Other information: Journal name Microsoft Windows Kernel-EventTracing/Admin Source connected to kernel-EventTracing 2010-08-06 19:53:04 Evnet 3 category of task ID: Session-level: error keywords: Session OpCode: stop

There are several other error messages that appear on a regular basis, not to mention the display driver one - that is the most obvious to me.  I saved the newspaper while they cannot get lost.  You can see that this same error message when I did the last factory restore on 10/18 is still original and mistakes so I could look at just to be reinstalled again.  My question is what is it, can it be repaired or do you need to strip ALL of this machine?  And while you will never say so, shouldn't they have taken this BEFORE they sent this computer to a client?

Check with your PC vendor to determine if updated video drivers are available.
Download and install if necessary. The video drivers are often buggy when
originally published, so what you see is not unusual. I hope it's a
minor issue if you had not seen the papers you would have noticed.

  • I installed Win 7 to 64 - bit and lost all information in my Lightning Calendar

I used PCMover to help upgrade (not perfect, but VERY good).

Thunderbird is now working, as it is the lightning calendar, but all the content of the calendar went.

Before the upgrade, I made a copy of everything on my main hard drive, so the old information should be here somewhere. Can someone tell me, please?

    Thanks much for any help.

I've been misled on my initial search for data by some outdated information. I found it now, and it all works.

In case someone considering this question, the relevant answer for me was

    > > location changed to Lightning 0.9 to Lightning 1.0b1. Now storage.sdb only contains information about the version of Lightning and is necessary for compatibility reasons. The events and tasks of local calendars is stored in the calendar-data/local.sqlite. Information about calendars such as the location and the settings are stored in the prefs.js. < <

  • Missing audio device of the control panel.

Several days ago, I opened the control panel to troubleshoot an audio device. The Control Panel showed two audio devices:

    1: ATI PNP
    HDAUDIO\FUNC_01 & VEN_1002 & DEV_AA01 & SUBSYS_00AA0100 & REV_1001\5 & B0AB116 & 0 & 0001
    Driver c:\windows\system32\drivers\atihdmi.sys (7.11.0.7703, 114,00 KB (116 736 bytes), 02/09/2010 12:34 AM)
    2: REALTEK PNP
    HDAUDIO\FUNC_01 & VEN_10EC & DEV_0888 & SUBSYS_103C2A92 & REV_1002\4 & 19 19054 & 0 & 0001 c
    Driver c:\windows\system32\drivers\rtkvhd64.sys (6.0.1.6196, 2.37 MB (2 484 072 bytes), 07/09/2010 12:27)

Both devices are still listed under system information/system/components tools, but:

At some point during the configuration of the device from Realtek, ATI device disappeared from the control panel. Since then, I have found no way to adjust its properties, much less put on the control panel.

The only other change observed: formerly the computer sounds internal (startup, error, stop, etc.) remained internal. Now, I can hear them through the external speakers - acceptable but not optimal.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Hello

There is a possibility that it is Adware.

    Read this information about it:

    http://www.ehow.com/facts_7898673_install-IQ-Updater.html

    Try this.

Use the FREE Revo Uninstaller to remove it:

    And I would also do a scan of Malware;

Download, install, update and scan your system with the free version of Malwarebytes AntiMalware, if necessary in Mode safe mode with networking:

  • I reinstalled Vista on a new hard drive and after installing the drivers Bluetooth, the icon will not be displayed in the control panel

A few weeks ago my drive hard out crapped on me and I bought a new one. I installed Vista on it and thought that I installed all the drivers. Yesterday, I had to use my bluetooth and noticed that it has not been installed. After knowing that I need a patch for it, I was able to connect my phone to my computer. But now the icon is not in the control panel so that I could easily adjust settings or view paired devices. I can only adjust the settings of the icon in the bottom left of the taskbar. Whenever I try to view paired devices I get the icon of waiting and then nothing happens.

    Macuahuitl salvation,

Ø what service pack is installed on your computer?

If you don't have SP2 on your computer, you may not be able to see the icon in the control panel. Try to install SP2 on your computer and check the status.

    OR

You can uninstall the device blue tooth from the Device Manager and restart the computer that will install the generic drivers, then check if the icon is listed in Control Panel.

    Please post back the result.

Your computer may have a recovery partition which is accessible when you first start the computer (usually by typing the key F9 several times will begin the recovery process).

This will reinstall Windows back to the point when you received everything first, therfore backup important data files (Documents, photos, music, etc.) on external before starting. Be prepaired to reinstall all the software can also be purchased and installed (rounding up of multimedia installation and product key codes).
