  So, I understand that you are able to download the files or folders, but once downloaded, you can not open or load them.  When you download to?  Try to download them to the desktop (which is the easiest to work with, and you usually have rights to full access to this place - you can always switch the download where you want when you are finished).  To open the file right click on the executuale file, and then click Run as administrator to see if that helps (which can be useful for certain types of downloads such as executables).

  What exactly are you trying to download?  What file types (the extension after the file name 3-digit)?  You can open anything or did some files that you can not open?  Can you download new programs and run (try to install Adobe Acrobat Reader: http://get.adobe.com/reader/).

  You are logged in as a standard user or administrator - so as standard user, logoff and log in as administrator and try again.  You don't have sufficient rights as a standard user.

  What antivirus do you use (is it Norton)?  If you continue to have the problem, try to disable the program to a single file, and then try to open it and see if it works.  If so, then you have the too tight program parameters and the need to adjust in order to work.

  There are many other possible problems and solutions, but we will try these first and see what happens.  They can also give you some ideas.

  That's a big question! BIOS stands for Basic Input/Output System/Service. It is the language that all the hardware components of your computer use to communicate with each other. There are updates coming out from time to time for this and it would be better to have the latest version. You can check your current version is as follows ( break ).

  1. click on the Start button

  2. Type "msinfo32" in the bottom search box and press ENTER.

  3. about halfway down on the right, you will see the Version of the BIOS/Date.

  The part that you are interested in is the "F. #. This tells you what version you have. The date may be a little different, even in the same version number, so I wouldn't pay much attention to date, only the numbers/letters after "F..

  Compare this number with the version of BIOS that is available on the Page of the driver for your laptop. At the moment there are two version of BIOS listed in the page, F.46 and F.24 A. or we'd be fine. If a problem is encountered with the more recent, it is a good idea to try the older (perhaps more stable) version.

  If so, perform the following steps:

  1. press and hold down the Windows and R together.

  2 type slui 4 in the immediate window and press OK.

  3. the Activation of Windows Wizard will open.

  4. follow the steps in the Activate Windows by phone dialog box, and then click Next.

  Note The number appears now and differs based on the location you select.

  When activation is completed and you receive the following message appears, click OK.

  You have activated your copy of Windows.
