K410 - SSD installation procedure

I have a Lenovo k410 originally shipped with Windows 8.0 Home. I have upgraded to Windows Professional 8.0. Then installed Windows 8.1.

Now, I need to create a USB installation media player so I can run a repair. I don't want to run a recovery, reset or refresh it. I need to do a repair.

Microsoft said that Lenovo can issue a product key Windows 8.1.

Note: I used a program to get the product key Windows 8.0 original but not what I need. I also have the product key Windows Professional 8.0 but not what I need.

How can I get the product key Windows 8.1?

Thank you

    Hi Forum users,.

Any of you have experience with installing Qosmioplayer? Is it mandatory to set up or prepare the HARD disk for intallation Qosmioplayer? How can I do?

It will be very useful if someone can give specific explanations about his.

    Thank you very much

    Hello

There may well be other ways to install the player, but the methods below worked for me. The installation can be tricky because Toshiba uses a partition 'hidden' for the player. In some countries, the Qosmio laptop is sold without the TV tuner, so the Qosmio Player is not installed. Therefore, this 'hidden' partition must be created by the recovery of the Qosmio player CD.

As much as I know the Qosmio player should settle on the space not partitioned at the end of the HARD drive. This free (unpartitioned) space capacity must be at least 100 MB. The best way to create this free space is to use a tool like Partition Magic Partition. Partition Magic is a tool very simple to use and very powerful. You will need to reduce the size of the last partition of the HARD drive at least 100 MB. Make sure this unpartitioned free space is created at the end of the HARD drive.

After the creation of the free HARD disk space, start the unit with the recovery of the Qosmio player CD by pressing 'C' on the keyboard at startup. Then Qosmio player will be installed on a partition hide on the HARD drive. Moreover, this hiden partition may not recognized by Windows XP or Partition Magic disk tool.

The other way to install the drive, I tried once, is first install Qosmio player since the recovery CD of the Qosmio player on a free HARD drive with no partitions without BONES, nothing. The CD is bootable and when you start the notebook the C button press to boot from the CD/DVD. For a new installation, select option 1. After a few minutes, installation procedure is completed.

After that, I installed OS using the recovery DVD and selecting the Expert mode option. In expert mode, it is possible to choose the partition on which the recovery file must be installed. If the HARD drive has no partition, the recovery utility will generate a. The size of this partition can be adjusted. The field size is marked, simply insert the size in MB.

Finally, re-run the recovery of the player CD Qosmio i.e. make a re-install, in order to restore order to start player Qosmio and the Windows XP operating system.

I hope it works for you, for me, now I can watch DVD movies, but I'll have to wait for the TV ENSA is release in my country.

  • Desktop HP Envy 700-305no: SSD Installation Guide

    Hello

The pc comes with a hard drive hybrid with 16 GB of cache Express, and some say, that I am therefore not able to install the SSD.

The wish for SSD comes from the coming Win 10 which I would install on SSD alongside the most used applications either Office and others.

I've been in contact with HP, but they seem unable to specify the How - to's question. Strange when you know that they sell these PCs for a living.

As I'm fairly new to SSD, I would warmly welcome a guide step by step for the zero on the SSD installation and new operating system on this particular machine.

Must also have a list of would be nice (cables, rack...) as well as a description of the location where on the motherboard, the drive must be connected.

Finally, any information may be necessary - I read somewhere that you need to disable the original hard drive to install the SSD, and somewhere else that the boot sequence should be changed. Others again, said that the SSD will be automatically recognized, and some say I have to get the pc to install the SSD.

All of these statements leave me a little confused and with a lot more questions, e.g. what will happen with the old Win 8.1 on the C drive, if I install a Win 10 on SSD?

Wow - it's a lot to ask, but I hope someone is able to help me, and I send you all to thank you in advance

    Hello

There is a lot of confusion and frustration with the help of technology.  These two words are very common on many forums.

I suggest you Google "SSD Installation Guide" and you should find a lot of general literature.

Installation of a 2.5 SSD "will require a special mounting for your PC kit...  HP should have what you need. Please read this thread.

Frankly, you won't earn as much in performance using a SSD verses your existing configuration.

    Hey @CJBr,

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support!

I would like to help you today to resolve the error 2147467259 installation when you install your Deskjet 2050 on your Windows computer. Just so you know that this seems to not be a problem with SSD for Windows.

I'll provide you with a solution of @chburnham .  I suggest this fix but do not guarantee that it will work because you will need to go into your registry and modify some files. Only run the fix if you feel comfortable with editing your registry files.

I recommend you back up your registry before you edit the registry files:

  • HP Photosmart 5500 series main: installation procedure for the printer software

In my attempts to install the software of series of Prniner of 45510e-all-in-one Photosmart hp, I think that the process does not complete the installation of the software. After I clicked on that I accept the terms of the agreement, that he turns back to the ilnstall screen and a few seconds, it indicates the installation is complete. I don't think that the process is quick. It seems that there may be interrupted the process.

In support of this contention, the printing software HP and doctor Scan shows the software seems incomplete and that there are problems of dirver.

Can someone provide explanations that the question of the installation is deficient in this case, or that he really install this fast?

    Arthur

The initial installation software for the HP Photsmart 5510 series was the correct software.  I finally resorted to re - install Windows 10. I was then able to uninstall properly the remains of the 5510 installs my computer which allowed somehow not all subsequent installations trying to finish. Unfortunately, the software would not overwrite the wrong files and it does not alert me to the fact that it was not complete installation.  It simply says that the installation is complete.  My guess is the ultimate failure of the procedure was the result of some entries in the REGISTRY, creating a conflict with the installation and full installation process was abandoned.

The process automated to re - install then took place without a hitch and all the functions of the printer now appear to work as expected.

I think that an option in the installation process to allow overwrite existing software on the computer may well have solved this problem without pain. The alternative that I had to go through has been extremely laborious and frustrating.

ATTENTION: This is my first endeavor material addition Introduction experimental set-up in Introduction to the laboratory of engineering computer science and make a cable crossed in Introduction to networking laboratory.

    Computer type: 10:00

I am trying to install a secondary drive. It is an essential M550 2.5 inch SSD. I'm looking inside the box for the second disc, I see (1) power cord with two plugs and (2) a cord with a plug of SATA data transfer.

    (1) a CAP is currently hung in the main HARD drive. The other is not plugged, but use very close to the second drive Bay which is - I guess - is available for the secondary drive.

    (2) the CAP is currently hanging in the main HARD drive.

Therefore, I am confused. I'm blind and lack a second plug for the SATA cord to go to the SSD data transfer? Data transfer on the power supply cord is like a cable POE? Do I need to buy a cable to connect to a place for the SSD? All the guides basically say, ' insert the disc, disk, put on the bevel, put the cover, model in turn computer connects, launch the installation of the firmware through windows, "which is not useful when it seems that I'm missing a data transfer cable.

Thanks for any help anyone can provide!

  • Pavilion dm4 1006tu: SSD installation on dm4 1006tu

    Hello
I want to install the SSD drive on my laptop (pavilion dm4 1006 YOU.)
Before installing, I want to confirm by experts which makes my system configuration supports the SSDS?
I heard that SSDS have backward compatibility with legacy systems.
And my HARD drive is 5 years old, the reason why I want to replace it with SSDS.

Please fix this, so I could move further with the installation of the solid state drive.
    Thank you
    Anshul

No Yes No problem. Your portable computer hardware will fully support an SSD. Is the SATA-II speed, but a SSD SATA-III works perfectly.

Your hard drive is a size of 320 gig so I recommend a 500 GB SSD which make it easy to clone (copy) from the old drive to the SSD drive or you can use the HP recovery discs. You can install a smaller if budget is a constraint.

It is a good SSD to buy it:

Sizes from 120 GB to 2 TB.

  • Tecra R840 mSata SSD installation in module 3G position

    Hello
I have a Tecra R840-110 model, there is also a 3 G module inside, I would install the mSata SSD pcie slot.
Is possible to use the mSata SSD instead of module 3 G pcie slot?

Thank you very much for your help!

I think that something like this is not possible. Card mother ports are not a kind of flexible ports.
In the past, that Toshiba gave the second HARD drive, upgrade instead of the optical drive using special adapter.

  • Portege R700 - SSD installation: a succesfull and the other failed

For what it's worth I just short wants to share my learnings SSD:

    1. I bought a Newton GTX 500 GB Corsair for my R700 (i5, W7). Looked to work ok after normal cloning, but often the PC froze and I couldn't restart it. Only way to continue was to force its rotation down with the power button. I've always had this message when starting:

+ PXE - E61: Media test failure, check cable for. +
    + PXE - M0F: exit Intel Boot Agent. +
+ Insert system disk in drive. +
+ Press any key when ready... +.

Only way to go was to force down once again and then the Pc may start and open windows. I've updated all the drivers I could think of-including Intel - but the problem persisted. Please note that this happened at the time with no systematic behavior, at least what I could understand.

    2. I got cold feet for this behavior and I bought a new R930, exchanged relative small with a bigger Samsun 840 Pro 500 GB SSD HARD drive. No problem, works very quickly and smoothly!

    3. I can now reinstall Windows 7 on the older R700 with the Corsair SSD - and now this machine works without any of the oldest problems, but I Don t understand.

Any of you have seen something similar?
    / Anders

    > Anyone of you seen something similar?

Of course. PXE - E61: Media test failure, check cable error is displayed because the laptop has attempted to boot from LAN.
Usually, this happens because of faulty HARD drive.

    > 2. I got cold feet for this behavior and I bought a new R930, exchanged relative small with a bigger Samsun 840 Pro 500 GB SSD HARD drive. No problem, works very quickly and smoothly!

I n t have this laptop Portege but I ve bought the same shape of my laptop Tecra SSD drive.
After cloning, the data on the drive to SSD drive using the software, which was part of the SSD HARD drive package, start the laptop much more quickly. I m very satisfied.

  • Envy 15-j0000: installation procedure for Windows 10

I want to install windows 10 x 64 using a USB flash drive. But I'm a little confused on UEFI and inheritance issues.

    Vikesh_navin

The fundamental issue is that the new machines have UEFI while the old machines using the BIOS.

Any accumulation of PC after Win8 came out likely UEFI; those built before, aura of the BIOS.

The installation media Win10 you generate from the MS site will include the UEFI boot by default files, so if your PC uses UEFI, it it will use for the installation.

Legacy mode is a way to emulate the older BIOS, but it does not always work.

Here is a link with some information on UEFI: http://www.howtogeek.com/175649/what-you-need-to-know-about-using-uefi-instead-of-the-bios/

  • Logon key Bluetooth does not recognize mobile phones during the installation procedure

    Hello

My Portege M400 with bluetooth stack 4.00.25 (bought in July 2006) doesn't recognize any mobile phone during the implementation of how to connect key wireless - except once with a foreign mobile PHONE a few days ago.

Mobile phones are also recognized as bluetooth devices, only the logon key wireless implemented the procedure shows:
"No mobile phone not found, check if bluetooth is enabled" (in German, so this formulation is my translation).
To my confusion, I tried to connect with someone elses phone to make sure that this isn't my phone (MDA) and this foreign phone has been recognised at the time. I'm not throughout the implementation of procedure, as I didn't want someone elses phone to log on my computer.

Now, a few days later, I decided along with that foreign mobile, just to check the operation of the entire wireless log on procedure, but now the phone that worked a few days ago is not recognized, too?

I can't find out what is the cause. Is there anyone who has an idea?

    Help would be very appreciated.

    Kind regards
