The latest successful updates were on October 27, a cumulative update for Media Center for Windows 7. Any ideas please?

    Shannon,

You have me.  I am a daughter of Vista.  And that shouldn't make a difference.

I am aware that information looks outdated, but there are many of these supporting documents that contain information that still applies to Windows 7.

Your suggestions of what needs to be done must be heard.  However, I would like you to take a look at this document and when you're done, scroll to the bottom of the page and you will see "Contact a technician of technical support by e-mail, online, or by phone."  Your suggestions will be heard.

  • Automatic updates from the update configuration failure; Returns the configuration of previeous... Does anyone else have this problem? It started right after I uninstalled Norton anti-virus.

I get the auto-mises to day ok; my machine tells me ' don't turn or turn off your computer, install the update 1 of 4' but when I can back up the next day I get the same message except that he says it configures windows updates... then after a while, said "failure to configure updates, return to the preveious configuration & rises."   That is what it is?

    Hello

    ·         You receive error messages?

    ·         This happens with all the updates?

    ·         What are the updates, those who are causing these question?

    Method 1:

Try running this utility for troubleshooting and check if it works: Open the troubleshooting Windows Update tool http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/Open-the-Windows-Update-troubleshooter

Also try to reset the windows update components: How to reset the Windows Update components? http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/971058 (also applies to Windows 7)

    Method2:

I suggest you put the system to boot and see if the problem still occurs. Follow the steps mentioned in the article mentioned below.

How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a boot in Windows Vista or in Windows 7 http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135

Note: when you are finished troubleshooting, follow step 7 to start the computer in normal startup.

    Method3:

Also, try to follow the steps in the article next, if the above methods do not work:

The update is not installed successfully, you receive a message, and the computer restarts when you try to install an update in Windows Vista and Windows 7 http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/949358

  • How to replace "apply downloaded update now" with "Check for Updates" in the menu help when the update fails because the downloaded update files are missing but the "Ready to install update" window keeps appearing?

    Question

I have another type of problem with Firefox

    Description

Window "Ready to Install" Firefox "Software Update" appeared. The folder "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\updates\0" contained the files update.mar, update.status and update.version. Each of the 3 files have been deleted. The next time that Firefox has been started, no update occurred because update files were missing. In the Menu bar, clicking Help showed in the menu drop-down that "apply downloaded update now" was always on the list. By clicking on "Apply downloaded update now" open "Software Update" window "Ready to install update", so that Firefox still considers that the update files exist, but they do not. In the window "Software Update", by clicking on "Restart Firefox" restart of Firefox, but once again it there's no update, and remains "apply downloaded update now" on the Help menu. How can "Apply downloaded update now" be replaced by "Check for Updates" so the update files can be downloaded?

    Version of Firefox

    3.6.3

    Operating system

    Windows XP

    User Agent

    Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; RV:1.9.2.3) Gecko/20100401 Firefox/3.6.3

    Plugins installed

    • npmnqmp - 989898989877
    • NP-mswmp
    • Adobe PDF plugin for Firefox and Netscape "9.3.2.
    • Default plugin
    • Foxit Reader plugin for Firefox and Netscape
    • Shockwave Flash 10.0 r45
    • Version 1.0.3 copyright 1996-2009 The VideoLAN Teamhttp: / /www.videolan.org/

You can manually reset the software update feature by closing Firefox and remove the file "updates" (which seems you have done) and the two files "active - update.xml" and "updates.xml" - these are in the installation (C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox) directory or in the profile folder (C:\Documents and Settings\nom_utilisateur\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\something.default).

If it does not, see our KB article How to resolve the failure of the update of Firefox update error message - the section of 'last resort' can be useful, or or read this article from MozillaZine KB, software update.

Please let us know how the above work, and if we can be of further assistance.

  • Packard Bell M3671: New installation will not leave my upgrade or install updates

    Hello

My mother has a Packard Bell M3871. Recently, she had a problem she turn on the computer and the date would go to 01/01/2011 and not all startup applications start as the antivirus, etc. I decided to restore the system to factory settings. Worked well. The day following the date returned in 2011 and I was not able to use internet as he said the connection is not private and it was recommended to install updates. So I waited a few hours while he was looking for updates and without success. Continues the search now and find nothing. I even tried the upgrade to windows 10 but the GET installation stuck at 99% and after a manual reboot as usual, loads of windows 7.

    Any help is much appreciated!
