  • 32-bit Vista, System Restore and windows update are suspended.

This problem started happening almost two months ago. When I turn off computer and windows update tells me that it is updated, I leave. Ive come back hours later to see that my computer never updated and turns off. Ive tried click on windows update to update while I was connected and it still crashes just forever. Today, I think I discovered perhaps the underlying problem. Finally, I got fed up and decided to do a system restore, after hours of research and try all kinds of solutions on these forums (none worked). So now he is suspended from the system restore. Suspicious to me that when the windows update crashes is on the screen where it says create restore point.

    What can I do?

I do not want to download all that regcure, II _ I chercher search on google, seems tgtbt and I don't want to take the risk of harming my system.

    can anyone help please?

    Thank you very much.

    Hello

You should go to the system manufacturer's website and get the latest network drivers wifi and card.

Download - SAVE - go to where you put them - right click - RUN AS ADMIN - REBOOT after each driver.

Maybe the other pilots. software and updates to the BIOS, you can get there.

Control Panel - Device Manager - double-click on a device and check the version.

Look at the sites of the manufacturer for drivers - and the manufacturer of the device manually.

Type the following commands (or you can copy and paste one at a time), each followed by pressing on enter.

    ipconfig/flushdns

  • It's a complete hard drive after reinstalling XP Home and all updates are done, why?

Do a XP Home reinstall on a desktop HP clocked at 1.6 ghz with 1 GB of ram and a 10 GB hard drive (about 9.8 GB usable after format). Booted from the disc, has made a full format of the hard drive, responsible for XP home without any problems, registered with Microsoft online, loaded all updates including SP3. Now, the system shows only about 170 MB of hard disk space. Is it possible that XP Home with updates can use much more space or can I have another problem? I thought that she should only use about 1.5 GB?

I could indeed take up that much space. But, you have a more serious problem. Your drive is too small... you have lucky, Windows is still stable. Where to install your programs?

  • Office 2003 to September 7 updates are confirmed installed but the reminders about updates same Dungeon arise

The updated Sept 2013 security update Office 2003 - 2007 are downloaded and confirmed "Installation" and these updates are listed in Control Panel / programs My.  The update reminder disappears from the taskbar.

At each stop, they say the system will 'install updates and shut down' even if all the updates already installed.

Every time you start, recalled asking to download the updates even reappears in the bar tasks over and over again.
I did the download/install process 3 x - and confirmed in Control Panel / programs that the updates are installed.

  • Differences between "View Update History" and "installed updates".

I have discrepancies between "view update history" and "installed updates".  Updates do not match and there are a lot of differences.  I'll try and link to an extracted image so you can see the differences.
I have a Gateway GM4574 with an AMD Live 64-bit processor, but am running Windows Vista Home Premium (32-bit) SP2,
I found this problem when certain Office updates (KB2760411, KB2760583, & KB2760588) kept wanting to be installed over and over.  This problem is now resolved.
Here's the problem I'm having now...

When I compare what follows, I come with a LOT of contradictions:
    (a) Control Panel, system and Maintenance, update Windows, view update history
    (b) Control Panel, programs and features, installed updates

Please see if your system has the same problem.  I don't know if it will work, but I'll try and link a picture of the views of two control panel so you can see the differences.  Just look at the dates of arrival and you will immediately see there are problems.

    Here is the link to an image I've snipped: https://skydrive.live.com/redir?resid=95DC3CEDE6DDD9BD! 814 & authkey =! AEwfCYrNsbmnUk0 & v = 3 +
When you click on the link and the page opens, look down the page and you'll see a thumbnail of the image.  Right-click on it and click View Original.  It looks better this way.  It is easier to read.

Again, I didn't know you can see updates two of 2 different ways, but there are a lot of updates do not appear on the installed updates that appear on view update history.

I'm worried about this because I don't know whether or not updates are really installed.
    Any help would be appreciated.

    Sincerely,
    Dennis

History is not important, it's the installed updates that are important.

At a certain stage, you can reset Windows Update, thus losing your history, or may have installed updates manually.

Don't worry about this. As long as the computer is updated and the updates are listed under "installed updates", it is essentially.

  • 800106ba Windows Defender and Windows Update error, error

    Hi all

Time please bear with me, long post coming.

Running Windows 7, the Ed House, 32-bit.

Problems with Windows Update, which I believe is due to problems with Windows Defender. Can not fix Windows Defender, Windows Update problem is also insoluble.

I think THAT my problem started when I installed the latest version of Spybot Search and Destroy 2. I was not like this version was not like spybot search stand alone and destroy 1 and was actually a full antivirus/malware program. I then started getting errors using Windows Action Center, saying that the windows Defender has been disabled. No biggy, SS & D worked I was not at risk.

FastForward a while and my updates are is more to come through via windows update. I begin to study and perform error is with windows defender. I find that no matter how I disable SS & D through services, etc., I can't have windows Defender to start, I get the error: 800106ba. I would like to manually disable the relevant services for ss & d and then manually start Windows Defender, this would result in just a few attempts to start the service, but it would eventually stop (after a few seconds).

Add to that with my Windows updates do not come through and just not being able to check updates (I get error of ' services does not "). (Even when I had started manually bits and wuauserv services). After a bit of digging, it seems that you need to update/run your Defender before Windows updates will begin to launch new.

I've manually updated my Windows Defender definitions today and always without result. Same old error codes and the same old mistakes. I have removed SS & D of my machine and had to install a new antivirus for enterprise network, and this has not solved all the problems (even if I manually disable this service too).

What are my options? I don't seem to have much luck with troubleshooting I found online (running the dll fresh cmds etc.)

Please help me, it's driving me crazy!

    Beamer91

Moved from programs for Windows 7 Forum.

    Hi Shalini,

    Thanks for your response!

I uninstalled SS & D and still have the issue. After a little more digging I realize that my question was a new hard drive, I installed.

There is no error code for windows update, it just says "Windows update cannot currently check for updates, because the service is not running." You may have to restart your computer. The services are running, and it does not help.

I cloned my old HDD with a SSD drive. It has Advanced Format, which seems to have been a problem for other people. I tried to install the fix here http://support.microsoft.com/kb/982018 but get an error code during the installation: 0xc8000247

When you run the Fsutil fsinfo ntfsinfo c: (the correspondent of the reader) (in a high cmd) I get:

    Bytes per sector: 512

    Bytes per physical sector:

    Bytes per cluster: 4096

    Bytes per FileRecord Segment: 1024

Any idea on how to solve this problem?

    I'm running a dell inspiron 1545.

    RESOLVED/FIXED *.

I had to install the Intel Rapid Storage driver.

Search for this phrase on the Intel download site. The first strike little would not install for me (the latest versions of the pilot). So I went back to one of the first outputs that can be found via search, download the iata_enu.exe file. A reboot later and all is well again!

  • KB2656352, KB2656369 and KB2604092 redetecting updates and reinstall.

Updates Microsoft, KB2656352, KB2656369 and KB2604092 redetecting and reinstall.  I get no error.  He says that the installation was successful each time. But these same 3 updates keep reports as needed.  I'm having this problem on 3 PCs (XP sp3) and on a single server (Server 2003).

Two of these updates are from earlier dates, but this problem started when Microsoft released updates for the month of may 2012.

3 updates all involve them dot net.  (details below):

Security Update for Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 SP2 on Windows Server 2003 and Windows XP x 86 (KB2604092)
Security Update for Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 SP2 on Windows Server 2003 and Windows XP x 86 (KB2656369)
Security Update for Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 SP2 on Windows Server 2003 and Windows XP x 86 (KB2656352)

I tried to uninstall dot net 3.5 and 3.0 (2.0 wouldn't let me uninstall it).  After you have reinstalled 3.0 and 3.5, these same updates are still needed.  I'm stuck in an endless loop...

I think I finally solved this problem.

First, I downloaded the dotnetfx_cleanup_tool.  When I ran, he gave me a choice as to what version of .NET I wanted to clean up.  I chose "All Versions of the .NET Framework".  It ran for about 10 minutes.

Once it was finished, I looked in Add/Remove Programs, and all versions of .NET have now been uninstalled and is no longer.

Then, I downloaded the full version of .NET 3.5 SP1 from Microsoft.  I ran the program (which takes about 15 minutes).  Once completed, I noticed that it had installed .NET 2.0, 3.0 and 3.5.

Then I went on the site of Microsoft Updates and of course, I needed many updates to .NET.  But this time after you download and install, my machine 100% full with no other updates required reports.
