KB2833940 and KB2844285 do not settle on the Windows XP-based computer

Original title: the Machine is XP, this update KB2833940 and KB2844285 had been submitted to my computer via the auto update program.

The Machine is XP, this update KB2833940 and KB2844285 had been submitted to my computer via the auto update program.  Both have continued to "loop" on attempts to install on the machine.  Download prepare for installation and the installation would show as complete that in the menu screen may disappear.   Then the new UPDATE ICON appears in the lower Task/tool bar.   Using the feature "review updates", he noted that the updates have been shown as installed.   These have been removed by using the Add/Remove feature.
The automatic update feature was sut down and use the HELP/SUPPORT-update - selection I noticed that two updates mentioned display 0's (zeros) in SIZE, but also the time to download in a few MINUTES.

I note also that I have tried several times to correct this issue using what ever "patches" lacked good results.   ALSO THE MICROSOFT TOOL PATCH NEVER WORKED FOR ME.  ALWAYS A PROBLEM...

Uninstall the .NET Framework 2.0. Then download the .NET Framework Cleanup Tool
In the drop-down list box, select 2.0 and clean.
Reinstall .NET Framework 2.0
Visit Windows Update or Microsoft Update and let it install the rest of the 2.0 updates, including KB2844285 and KB2833940.

Check if they install and report.

  • Windows Media Center extender on my XBOX works initially, but not after reboot of my XBOX. Error: Failed to connect to the Xbox 360 could not connect to the windows Media Center computer.

It's VERY odd and very annoying!

I set up my laptop next to my Xbox 360 with an Ethernet cable directly connecting the laptop to the XBOX, and the laptop is on our wireless network. The XBOX has access to the internet (shared through the laptop), and when I test the PC connection and the connection XBOX Live sound fine to all.

So I'll try to set up Windows Media Center, it works great! I "Add Extender", put the code to 8 digits. It passes through the installation, all works, no problems and WMC opens on the XBOX, I can go into my library, watch movies etc... works great!

However! As soon as I turn my XBOX off and back on, it will fail to connect to the WMC.

He says his 'find Windows Media Center PC' which seems to work fine, it goes to the ' Windows Media Center loading screen "contact...". ", and after about 10 seconds, I get an error"failed to connect the Xbox 360 could not connect to windows Media Center PC. Make sure that the PC is turned on and connected to the network.

I tried to configure the Extender repeatedly, whenever it works fine until I restart the XBOX... :/ - and its strange cause I still the internet connection (shared through the laptop) after turning on the XBOX, its really JUST Media Center which is screwing around.

She continues to keep trying to connect then repeatedly fails.

If I wanted to, I could re-configuration the WMC Extender EVERY TIME turn off the Xbox, which works the first time without fault, but that's all just stupid.

I can't really understand what is happening here... any help would be appreciated.

You can try those Microsoft committed the 'experts' ideas Support Engineer (1, 2, 3) for safe, clean boot Mode, Online Scanner, but I think that most of the people who know how XP would recognize that there is no component 'V protect' in Windows XP and a simple search Google reveals that your problem is with your AVG software and has nothing to do with Windows XP.

You should look in their forums (like me) and here's what they suggest:

Vprotect belongs to AVG Security Toolbar.
Please try to run repair installation using the latest installation package.

If the problem persists, please follow all the steps in the instructions to complete reinstallation .

I think that if I were you, I would follow the instructions on the page AVG to uninstall and reinstall your AVG because there may be other parts of AVG who are afflicted that you have not yet discovered, but in AVG, some people with V forums protect problems find that AVG repair install works.

  • How do I know if the Windows XP-based computer has a virus?

WINDOWS XP PROFESSIONAL. My C drive is maximally. I have 37.2 GB and no usable space. I don't even have 15% so I can run the defragmentation. I found where the additional concert seems to be.  C-> documents and settings-> ADMINISTRATIVE properties show this ADMIN record is 32 GB but when opening the folder everything inside has low usage. So I can't run a scan disk or defrag. I've always been able to get into my system while loading and reloading my whole system, but I can't seem to find with this system. +
    * original title - I think I have a virus.*

You are cut short or is the directory that you looked really named

    C:\Documents and Settings\Admin

    Temporarily, save some space by:

    • empty the trash
    • turn off System Restore (right-click on desktop > properties > system restore)
    • delete your temporary files (start > run > %Temp% > OK; then just select and delete; don't forget to empty the trash after that)
    • clear the Internet Explorer cache (Control Panel > Internet Options > general tab > delete temporary files, etc..)
    • clear the cache for a different browser you use

Then download and run JDiskReport (needs about 2 MB of disk space).  This should help identify which occupies the space on your drive.  If you can not know what to do after you have identified the space pig, after return with details.  And don't forget to turn the system restore.  You can uninstall and remove JDiskReport after your done with it.

  • Beep of the Windows Vista-based computer

My windows vista makes a beep sound in a two time repeat, beep beep and my screen turns with it, I tried the monitor on another computer and it worked, I think it's maybe a graphics card. And if it is where in my computer can I fix?

    Hello

"beep" codes normally indicate a hardware problem / failure.

Go to your computer manufacturer's website and look at the specifications of your PC to see what BIOS you have

Then read this on the 'beep' error codes to try to see what failed:

    http://www.computerhope.com/beep.htm

    http://www.pchell.com/hardware/beepcodes.shtml

    http://pcsupport.about.com/od/nonworkingcomponent/HT/beepcodestb.htm

If you are unable to determine the hardware problem yourself, contact the manufacturer if under warranty.

If it is not under warranty, find a good repair shop premises to take.

    See you soon.
