Keep hard edges/contours on part pixels blurred image inset?

How can I keep the hard edges on a part of the main image without the feather edges (selection square 25% copied into a new layer, with a 3 to 5px Gaussian blur) ? I'm trying to keep if possible the hard edges on this photo in Medallion.

Thanks for any info.

If I understand you correctly, try this. Make a duplicate of your original layer. Blur the duplicate layer. Now make a choice of the place of % 25 ' area and turn the selection into a layer mask. The edge of the mask must be strong (no smoothing). The content of the layer will be the blur.

  • Width tool - hard edges or straight lines between points instead of curves (CS6 PC)

    Hi people,

I wonder if it is possible to control the lines between points so that they are straight instead of curves. In other words, I'm curious if there is a method to create sharp corners or hard edges with the width tool, because it always seems all edges (see picture) of the curve

Thanks in advance for your help.

    srksphillips,

Everywhere where you wish to set/change the width, you need an anchor. I believe you can (guides are your friends):

    (1) create an anchor Point at each location where you want to have a specific width, such as updates starts and ends of the thicker pieces, you probably already have.

    (2) use the anchor Point add the tool on the thick side right next to each existing anchor (starting from 1)) and set the same width;

(3 use the direct Selection and ClickDrag the 2 anchor Point tool) to coincide with the anchor of 1).

And similarly for the part or parts thinner/more thin.

It is essentially the same way as when you create a gradient with stops, as a fill for two colors in an object.

  • I can blur part of an image in SG?

A common technique that I use to get the right "look", is to blur a part of an image, usually the background to give it a bit of depth of field in post. Now, I know that I could do it in AE, but it seems like a simple task and therefore directly related to the 'look' of the image, that I should be able to do all of SG by using all their lyers and masks.

Is this possible or do I head to feature request?

To blur a part of an image, you can use two custom looks: GaussianBlur and GaussianBlur (Range).

With GaussianBlur (Range), you can select a range of HLS, as a secondary antibody values, to isolate a part and with both you can use a mask.

To add a custom style, click on the plus sign, in the bottom of the layers panel.

  • Is it just me or the heal tool now let hard edges circle?

He seemed to blend better before. Now, I see some distinct hard edges on the heal.Screen shot 2010-06-10 at 5.01.13 PM.jpg

The image is the background for a portrait.

    Another place:

The heal tool has always been a sharp hard tool. Usually a comparable to this result means that the point of source is not good enough, try clicking on the circle and then by dragging the source to a point better.

  • Blur image adds resizing

Hello. When I do a larger image and PSE12, he adds a blur effect. How to resize a picture or an image to scale so that it looks exactly the same as it does when I'm zoomed above? For example, if the image is a picture of text, when I Zoom, I can see pixels sqaure of the letters, but when I have larger scale, or resize the image, PSE12 trying to get rid of the pixels by smoothing with a blur effect, but I don't want that.

By choosing "preserve hard edges" in resample during image resizing option, it seems to have solved the problem of vagueness.

  • Painting resizing cut the lower part of the image

If editing an image in paint. If I change the size of the "work area" or whatever called it cuts the bottom of the image, if I use the side size change channels the same thing happens. If I select the corner lower and resizen and look at the number of pixels in the background it is always the same length as the original, but as soon as I let go it instantly moves to the top and cut the part of the image. This gave me a * headaches and I want to know why MS cannot get something simple as changing the paint 'area' whatever the * he is called to work?

Paint is a very basic graphics editor; as a suggestion, you can try IrfanView. It is a graphics editor much better with more features and capabilities, plus it's free; and has its own forum for users of help (if needed).

  • by selecting a required part of the image in a batch

There is a picture of Apple on white canvas. I want the cultures in a way so that my new image contains only a required part (apple only). To explain it clearly, I drew a rectangle around Apple and grapes. I just want what's inside the rectangle. I can't give the height and width to cut because I want to run this script on a lot of images that have different forms (for example apples and grapes here). Do I have to check every pixel to change color (from white to colour) so that I can get the height and width of the real part of every image or there is a better way.

Just thinking about it with slight color differences. A layer of temperature setting can be added to turn the pure white bg, then use the trim command, the button remove the adjustment layer. who will do the trim of the cultures most close to the subject.

  • I need to replace a color on my image with a specific part of the image color.  How do I?

I spent over 2 hours trying to figure out how to replace a color on a part of my image with a specific color indicated on another part of the image.  So far, I was able to go to "Replace color" on my version of Adobe Photoshop, but it seems that I can only change the hue and brightness of the color that it is currently.  I need to use a specific color, so this didn't help me.  Does anyone know how to complete the task that I refer to?

In addition, please keep in mind that I use Adobe Photoshop 6.0, not a fancy cs version or whatever it is.  So it's fairly old school...

Any help/comments are greatly appreciated!  Thank you.

    Hello

In fact, you can choose a specific color using the replace color function!

Go to Image > adjustments >, replace color

Select the color you want to replace. Then, click on the 'Result' box in the section of replacement (see below)

A color picker dialog box opens, where you can use the eyedropper tool to select a specific color in your image, or you can enter the specific RGB/CMYK values.

Please post again if you have any other questions - I use CS6, but as far as I know, this process works the same for PS 6.0.

    Good luck!
