Keep the IP settings

Just started using the converter to import physical machines.  Good works (slow).  When it's over and I have power on the virtual machine, the vnic is configured to use DHCP.  This isn't a huge problem for me yet, as I'm just import test boxes.  But, what happens when I import the domain controllers, exchange and sql boxes and intellectual property are different on their first start?  I think that could be ugly.  Is anyway to keep the IP settings after the machine is converted into virtual?  They have all the boxes to Server 2 k 3.

Thank you!

> It's probably be scriptable (hmmm... sounds like a new project).

Why create a script when SysPrep can do automatically and already exists?  We can use sysprep, as part of the Converter Wizard to specify IP settings for the virtual machine resulting.

Just changed in CS5 for CC.  In CS5 tools as emphasis would keep the last settings I used, which were of Villa close to what I wanted next time.  In CC, it's always back to its default values.  Is it possible to change so that it remembers the last setting I used.  (With the help of Windows BTW)

    Hi greatwill,

Most of the dialogs for the filters are always sticky. If you left the program normally, settings used last will write to the preferences and be there for you when you return to them in another session. Changes to your preferences in the preferences dialog boxes paste, or none of your preferences if written when you quit Photoshop and restart?

It could help others help you, too, if you want to say what version of Windows. I don't use Windows, but many do here, and if there is a problem with get your preferences written to disk when you leave, they might know more on this subject.

  • Add the map results in keeping the old settings

    Hi all

    I have a weird problem.

We have an environment vspere running with 9 blades, vsphere 4.1 and enough memory.

Last week some application managers tried to NLB to work on a Sharepoint Frontend server. This is going well @ all and after that they had "abandoned" they wanted to put it back as it was.

So we have uninstalled nlb, gave the DFU new ip address and we have tried to connect... Low and behold it worked! WTH!

We threw all the cards and then add the. After we had made the old ip came back in the machine--< = (and that I don't get!)

It seems that vmware somehow puts cache settings for NW cards formerly added, and so also the problem came back.

I found a way around this by adding 1 map more then the orgional 2, we were already in it. Configure the third card, remove the other 2 in the settings and the server wasn't reachable again.

but now whenever I want to add a new map of nw, I must first add 2 nw cards that didn't work, and then another that actually work.

    2 questions:

1A someone at - he never had such a problem, and says how fix you it?

2 - does someone has an idea that would prevent to keep old setting when adding a card nw?

Your old NIC card is probably far in the devices hidden in Device Manager

    In the command prompt

    Type set devmgr_show_nonpresent_devices = 1

devmgmt.msc (run it from the command prompt)

    Click view-> devices show hidden

Search no matter what old NIC and remove

  • Reset the catalog but keeping the image settings

    Hello

I have a very messy - catalog images are displaced, some files missing some photos and so on. I want to reset my catalog, but I don't want to lose the settings that I did for my photos. Does anyone know a way to do this - back up files that adjusts images so I can reset the entire catalog and then apply the settings to my images again.

    Thank you, marten

The way to do is to organize your photos in Lightroom. After all, it is designed for you to use it as an organizing tool.

If you want to move them to a different location, you drag them to the appropriate inside Lightroom folder.

If a picture is missing, you import it into Lightroom (or use synchronize folder) Tip: in the future, you must adopt the policy of importing ALL of your photos in Lightroom (Yes, I said IT), not just some of them and that this won't happen in the future.

In this way, you don't lose your settings, and you have nothing to do with photos that are well organized.

As an alternative, you can organize by keywords and then not only gives you the benefits of keywords on the Organization of the file, but then no picture can also be in the correct folder.

Like other number two, you could have Lightroom write metadata to files and then import them into a new catalog. You lose collections, chimneys, virtual copies and pick up flags (and a few other things I don't remember now), but your changes will appear in the new catalogue.

No matter what you do, you should make a backup of your catalog file before you start this process. Actually, you to do regular, automated backups of your catalog files without worrying about what you do, no excuses.

  • Keep the build order when replacing image?

Hi guys this problem has plagued me for a while.

I create a video model in Keynote. The intro slide has a video file (locked) followed by an (unlocked) image and finally another video file (locked). The three of them follow a specific build order with delays, which in turn creates the complete animation.

I want that the user don't just replace this the Middle image on the slide with one of their choice.

The problem is, once replace it user order image, positioning of the image and delay in construction are lost. Unfortunately I don't think users are sophisticated enough to follow instructions on how to set the build order, then replace the timing delay, the image needs.

Is there anyway someone (with a limited understanding of Keynote) can replace the Middle image without compromising the build order?

    Thank you!

    Use an image placeholder:

    • Add a picture to the slide in the format (vertical or horizontal)
    • position and size according to the needs
    • Add a formatting required (picture frame, shadow, etc.)
    • Select the image then: Inspector > Format > advanced > define as media placeholder

users drag and drop any image on the support of the place that adopts the formatting of the placeholder and keep the animation settings

  • keep the setting of the user when upgrading packages

    Guys,

its there a way to keep the user settings, when a thinapp packages upgrade, example, I thinapp firefox 3.6, so I want upgrade firefox to version 4, can the bookmarks and other settings migrate automatically between package 3.6 to 4.0 when the thinapp Gets the upgrade on the VM?

in my case whenever I update the package, bookmarks are not migrate and the user begins with a database empty bookmark.

    Thank you.

Maybe that's not Thinapp whats causing your problems. You know exact filepath or registry keys that are now the parameters of your bookmark? are they not different between versions of application? And these places have the same isolation mode? IMHO these location setting is different between versions of application and the old settings are visible in a newer version, but new version uses setting different location and that's why you don't see older settings in a newer version. IM on mobile phone, so I can't check on the computer. Let us know any results. We also provide versions of Firefox, you try to migrate settings between.

  • When I go on the settings of cookies and close the window, then I go back and it's still on the old settings. How can I keep it changed to what I want?

I'm trying to let him stay on Firefox will: use of custom settings for history. But when I close the window and come back, he's back on the Firefox will: remember the story. I don't know how to save my changes to keep it on the custom settings.

The "use settings customized for history" allows to see current history and cookies settings, but select this setting is not to make changes to the parameters of the history and cookies.

Firefox displays the "use the custom settings for history" as an indication that at least one story and cookie settings is not the default to make you aware that the changes have been made.

If all the history settings are default, custom settings are hidden and see you "conservation rules: (never) don't forget history."

"Never remember history" means that private browsing is active and "Always use private browsing mode" Gets a check mark.

  • HS SX60 - how long to keep the settings without main battery

SX60 HS does not keep date/time settings and seems other setting too when the main battery is taken out for charging. How long camera must retain parameters without main battery? I sent the unit for repair, had refirbished with the same problem - memory loss.

Should I continue to send the camera for repair under warranty until Canon will do something reasonable? Or return the money for that camera?

The internal date and time battery should load up in 4 hours with a charged battery installed. Then it must retain the date and time for about 3 weeks once loaded and the battery removed.

If this is not done or pretty close to that, then by all means send it back for repair or replacement or refund.

To my knowledge, that is not a chronic problem with the SX60 so in all liklihood, you have a faulty they need repair.

  • Reinstall XP (box set) w / updated version and keep the settings?

My old installation of XP Professional (ver 2000 / SP1 retail box) is not working properly.  Hundreds of antivirus, fixes Registry scans, updates and several hard drive card mother upgrade and later I lost some basic features *.  Can I reinstall XP using a downloaded newer version (SP3) using my old key (commercial box version) and keep all my settings?  I remember that I did this a few years ago and had to rebuild all the updates, but I got what I needed.  Now when I try, the same original disk says that I must start over costs and versions are not compatible.  Also, where is the best place to get the installation files?

A most annoying things is the delay huge opening files.  Some never open and I get a message unable to find the file, that I just clicked?  I reinstalled all affected programs (like Office 2003 / Excel) and there is no improvement.

Interesting responses.  I was not on top of the issue of IE, but it makes sense.  It has been a few years, but I remember that the successful repair XP restored my IE and I've had to update again, but he did not screw up the repair.  I think that IEv7 was in use at the time.  I am currently on IEv8.

My restore points do not rise close enough to fix all of this and the last one I tried (up to a point a week or so prior) failed.  3rd party patches registry improve some things, but not all.

I have the original disc of the 2002 version of the retail box.  No download version.  I was hoping to find one online as I did for S7 in my newsroom.  For this installation, I bought a key provider of Microsoft and it worked fine.

Maybe I'll start a couple of new threads for specific problems.
