  Hey guys,.

  I'm hoping to find an answer to my problem here, because I don't really know what else to try right now...

  I did a dynamic form for a company with Adobe Acrobat Pro. If I chose something a menu drop-down, some new forms and another layer of the PDF file becomes visible. I managed to do all this using javascript and form actions.

  The problem is that I am not able to keep the layers visible when I save. Is it possible that it remains exactly as it was when I am saving? It would be really important because the company uses this form to customer and they need to see what was visible and verified by customers of course.

  There are two ways to do this.

  The first is to change the property initState layer that determines if it showed or not when the file is opened.

  It is the best way to do it, but the problem is that this property is read-only in the drive, unless your file is only used in Acrobat is not really feasible.

  The second is to use a script to show/hide layers based on logic when the file is opened, using a script at the level of the doc.

  The logic will be probably the same thing as what you already use for your drop-down lists and other areas, you just need to adjust it so that it is executed when the file is opened, not only when the values of these fields is changed.

  You can use a bitmapdata object to create a bitmap image of your movieclip not transformed (using the draw method) and use the applyfilter method to apply a filter to your bitmapdata object.

  The answer to that will depend on what operating system you are using.

• Is there anyway to keep the layers in Photoshop Elements when recording in format .jpg?

  I am new to the use of PES and I like their concept of layers so that the original photo is not altered, however, my preference is to save all my files using .jpg.  I actually discovered yesterday that after 3 weeks of scanning in very old family photos, then using PSE11 and using layers and then backup to .jpg, now when I open it again these files in EPS that the layers created have disappeared.  Help, please!

  Thanks for the recommendation on Googling PSD to JPEG conversion that I'll look in.  My plan is I think the first scenario that you mentioned.  I spent a week off the coast during Christmas pictures old many sorting that I inherited and have since bought an Epson V600 Scanner that came with Photoshop Elements.  I spent a number of weeks of research on the best practices to use with the Epson scanner analysis, then an equal amount of time familiarizing myself with Photoshop Elements I've ever used before.  In particular, compared to the other I used photo editing tools, I really like the ability to retouch PSE and localized sharpening / Brush tool for a lot of old photos that aren't in the best of shape.  To change things (just if I'm not scanning for a year and then touching up for another year +), I'm scanning a group of photos I've sorted by theme and then spending time using Photoshop on these, and most of the time I'm scanning only pictures of people that I know to be members of the family or friends of family nearby. Once this batch is finished, I was moving to the next batch of scanning and treatment with PSE.

  Funny you should mention the kodacolor the slides that you have scanned.  I did this same work (approx. 5000 slides that my dad had in his lifetime) about 7 years ago with a slide scanner that I bought at the time.  Like you, I've scanned everything and then using a tool (Zoombrowser) editing of Canon, I hit only these slides scanned with meaning for me.  Now the phase 2 (7 years later) is scanning in all my photos of old parents, and I've already sorted on the pictures, I think no family, so now are using PSE, I expect I'll do some sort of button until most of them.  Sorry for the lengthy response, but I enjoyed reading of your recommendations and appreciate the help and guidance you provided.  Thanks for all your help and your time.

  How can I keep layers enabled/disabled when opening a file?

  I like to keep my files as clean and simple as possible. When I opened the files with layers of multipule I want often they remain untoggled but everytime I open a template file or file .ai that each layer is enabled.

  Is there a way to keep all untoggled layers in the file so that I can quickly find the layer I need without having to manually untoggling them?

  You can not fundamentally.

  Best option, put all the layers into a new layer. You can then when you open the file Option/Alt click the top layer to close and all internal layers sub will close as well.

  When I trigger a backup of drive on a virtual machine, I have the following algorithm.

  1. log in to the host.

  2 take a snapshot of the virtual machine.

  3. for each disk in the virtual machine, the request for the block changed.

  4. take the backup of the disk.

  5. Repeat steps 3 and 4 for the entire disc.

  6. store the virtual machine configuration.

  7 remove the snapshot.

  8 disconnection.

  When I tested my code with a very large drive which took place for a 8hrs say for a diskbackup complete, when I get to step 6, the session appears to have expired. With the exception of the removal of the snapshot, I think I can work around the problem - since the snapshot is an object of the session, just confused how this can be managed. Is there a way to keep the session until I finish the backup - as it seems more natural to keep the session so that all operations are completed instead of trying to work around. Let me know your opinion.

  I couldn't find a way to get the object of snapshot based on the name. One of the recommended steps to do before taking a snapshot is to delete all the snapshots with the name that you use to take the snapshot - which are essentially snapshots of the backup failed. The virtual computer object provides a way that to remove all snapshots - which of course is false, but does not rely on the name of the snapshot. Any ideas on that?

  I agree with you that it is not obvious at first glance. In my opinion the VirtualMachine managed object provides a property named 'snapshot '. This property is an instance of data object VirtualMachineSnapshotInfo. There is a property named "rootSnapshotList". This property is an array of data objects VirtualMachineSnapshotTree . And now comes the crucial point to the routine:

  To me, it seems that the hierarchy entire snapshot is represented by instances of VirtualMachineSnapshotTree of objects where each of them finally points to the successful VirtualMachineSnapshot Explorer they represent in fact. The tree object provides data in read-only snapshot represented, i.e. name, description, etc.

  In short:

  1. Download the roots of instant trees via VM.snapshot.rootSnapshotList
  2. Recursively browse through [VirtualMachineSnapshotTree.childSnapshotList]
  3. Identify your snapshot via VirtualMachineSnapshotTree.name
  4. Access to the managed VirtualMachineSnapshot object via VirtualMachineSnapshotTree.snapshot
  5. Remove the snapshot via the method RemoveSnapshot_Task

  I guess that should work :-)

• Duplicate the layers and groups unrelated

  I have a group of layers (in a folder) and duplicate the group without the two groups are related. I tried Ctrl-J and also by dragging the group to the new layer at the bottom of the layers Panel icon. None of these methods worked to untie layer groups. When I change the text smart object layer in one of the groups, changes occur in both groups of layers. I want to be able to edit text layers independently in each group.

  Is it possible to separate groups?

  If you are using the latest version of Photoshop CC 2014, you will need several steps.

  (1) make a right-click on one of the smart object layers in the Group and choose new Smart Object Via Copy. Repeat for all layers additional object dynamic you want to duplicate.

  (2) if there are layers in the folder that are not smart object layers, you can copy it by dragging to the new layer at the bottom of the layers Panel icon.

  (3) move all the layers that are duplicated in a new layer group folder.

• Cropping of the layers with the crop in Photoshop CC 2014 tool?

  I tried to find out if the crop tool can be used in 2014 CC Photoshop to crop the layers individually rather than on the entire record, and I'm not find answers through research. I can not even find a standard Adobe how-to for culture in the CC version. The selection tool is still the only (best) way to crop an individual layer?

  Also, I was watching a tutorial tool of harvest for the CC version which seems a little opaque for me in the way he wrote (Adobe Photoshop CC for photographers) and it refers to a harvest menu options drop-down, but I can't find any way to access to this.

  Yes, I know that in previous versions, you use the tools Rectangle selection and reverse to crop a layer. I was hoping that finally Adobe has updated to have an option for the crop tool to use for a layer of culture. Too much to ask, after all these years.

  Then I met the same problem with movie clip method is empty, I lost interactivity. Then I noticed that there movieclips above because one of them is used as a blending mode by covering it. So, I realized that the empty movie clip method did not work because there are video clips above it. So I did mouseEnabled = false. And it works, so YAY!

  Work in a model of square pixels.  Check the settings of your computer and you'll see what I mean.

  I took 5 photographs using the techniques of luminous paint recently proposed in DPS Light Painting tutorial.  However, using 8 items, I can't combine them into layers.  I can get them in elements, save them and open them in layers of elements section.  However, I do not know where to go to from there.  Any help out there?

  The empty file will be your canvas. It is important that its dimensions and the resolution is the same as that of the images. They should all be the same, because, no doubt, you have taken with the same camera. You will have 6 layers: background, layers 1, 2, 3, 4, 5.
