• When I copy the layers and a harvest, it changes each layer.  Why?

  Cannot operate it.  I imported a jpeg file and copied several times.  I woud want to crop a different part each and have a stack of layers indicating each part of the original jpeg.  When I select a single layer, and lock the rest the result of the harvest of the active layer is applied to all copies of the layer!  Why?  How to work around this irritating behavior?  Work with Photoshop CS on a Mac.

  Note that if you do my first suggestion or Silkrooster, there is no way to go back or change what area is the display. You must duplicate the layer and hide it in my case, or hide the Silkrooster layer, then start again. With the solution of layer mask, you can remove the link it and move the mask layer, and as a result, the area which shows. 'S called it non-destructive editing.

• Duplicate the size and the position of several objects.

  Is it possible to duplicate the position and size properties and apply them to different objects on slides?

  In short, I have short videos I want located at the same place on each slide more than 30 slides. The videos vary, but the slide location must be the same. It becomes particularly bulky on a sensitive project to manually adjust things for not only all the slides, but once again for Tablet and phone views as well.

  I'm copying all layers from one document to the other. But just copy paste is not enough for several reasons (root document may already be closed, copy at a time when the new document is not open yet,...).

  This means that I have to remember all the layers and use them later.

  So what I'm doing, open a doc with some layers. Then testGet(), open new document then testSet().

  But bench always puts "the command 'Make' is not currently available." and error = - 128.

  Who's going to be a difficult path to travel to this topic. Even if you can get all the properties of the active document and the layers within the document, you have not dealt with pixels on a normal layer data. You will need to save this broad as well. And for dynamic objects and linked smart objects... you have a job to do. Any topic of a document is not capable 'get '.

  Trying to cope with this: "document might already be narrow" would be almost impossible IMO.

  Remember, the source document, which is now closed I now want to copy. Then you can do:

  1. open closed source document. (Or make it more if it is already open)

  2. for each layer in the source document

  a. Select the layer

  b. copy of the document target

  3. close source document.

  The Get accessor routines are not for 'read' directly. You must get the interesting bits of information on and then use the game code that you found using listener.

• How to resize the layers (and keep the properties)

  Hello to all and forgive my lack of knowledge of the AferEffects.  Currently, I got the task to my work to create a video for a display at a local arena.  The height of the screen of the arena is 36px.  I bought a model of Envato that I liked but resizing has been a problem.  I created a new composition for the appropriate specifications and copied the model layers in my new composition.  "Then I went to the size equal to the composition but noticed that there are layer 'points' and I guess that 'transformations or effects' ' are not scale with the height of the composition.

  Is there an easy way to resize the layers and all their properties to meet up to my composition?

  Thanks in advance and I promise you I won't go to the current on the use of AE, but for the moment I'll have to get finishing with searches google and help forum.

  Have you tried to use the script of the Composition of the ladder by going to file - Scripts - scale Composition.  Define a height 36, click scale and then copy and paste all your layers model comp above the 36 x 2760 model. Who should maintain relationships between all layer properties in the model.  Forgive me if I'm struggling to understand what you're trying to do, but a few screenshots of your comps might help illustrate your workflow.

  Yes, if you want to animate 20 items, you must put each item in its own layer. There are a number of ways to make it a little less tedious. For example, if you place each element on the stage, in the same layer, and then name each instance, you can then select all the elements on the stage and then select the Edit menu and then the timeline and finally distribute to layers. This will place each item in a layer newly created at the same position on the stage and then name each layer to match the name of instance for this element.

  Go to Image > Mode for each file type and check that they are both RGB, or the two etc. CMYK. An adjustment layer, such as a curve or a Hue/Saturation, which is setting red, green, and blue pixel in an RGB document, cannot be moved in a CMYK document (or grayscale, etc.) because the color channels, that layer is adjusted are not there. This means that your new PSD files should be replaced by the same color mode as the documents you want to duplicate adjustment layers of.

• Keep the layers with Group/Ungroup CS5

  I hope I missed a box hidden somewhere in illustrator.

  I work with complex figures and often use the group to move the sections and align the panels. Unfortunately, this process flattens all objects in a single layer; which is ok when I move the group, but NOT OK when I need ungroup and modify objects in layers separated again.

  For example:

  Graphic overlay, text, highlight behind the text.

  One use is when I make a model, distributing the work to occupy the available space, then going back in and update text and highlights, etc.

  I'm dealing with too many objects to manually reassign the layers after dissociation.

• Duplicate the 'Favorites' and 'Music' folders that appear.

  In my file user a few months ago I noticed that I had two folders called 'Favorites '. I deleted one of them only a few times to make it reappear later.  Today, I noticed another problem of dupe. I have now two "Favorites" and two records 'music '. Does anyone have an idea of what is causing this and a resolution possible?

  With the favorite dupe files one is empty and one actually contains the Favorites of IE. For music files, it is empty and contains in fact all of the music stored on my PC. One that is empty display a normal folder icon while one that contains music shows the blue note CD icon. (as shown in the image link)  I tried to remove two empty folders but when I reboot him reappear. I've been using MS Security Essentials and keep up-to-date and analysis since it was released.

  I think I can have it fixed for now however.  It seems that some combinations of iTunes and TuneBite creates a bunch of 'ghost' (i.e. folders hidden / system) and some were 'linked' to Favorites and music files.  When another application would attempt to access these folders (for example WMP or IE) apps could not find records and create duplicates.  I did some digging in the properties of the records and found the "Restore Default" button in the location tab. When you click on that I noticed that the place has changed the name of folder long ghost the correct path of "C:\Users\\Music" and "C:\Users\\Favorites.

  Everything seems to be fine now, but if I have additional problems, I will use your suggestions to create a new user and copy only the data through. I'm just trying to not have to re - import my mail again. I am a digital packrat and have mail dating back to 1995 it takes awhile. :)

  (a) Windows and X set button, and then select computer management.
  (b) double click on system tools.
  (c) click on local users and groups.
  (d) check if you are able to find users and groups folder.

• Duplicate the layers of a plan of work on another file

  I am having some problems of duplication of layers to a Committee of art on another photoshop file.
  Whenever I try to reproduce it sticks to the first Board of the art of the document. I'm trying to stick to the third Chamber of art in the document.

  Can someone give me an idea on how to place it on a specific Board?

  (Long answer, see shorter answer below)

  There are a few known issues when transferring content between two work plans in two different documents.

  1. we do not keep the relative xy position within the artboard when you drag layers in an old plan of work in an old document to a new work plan in a new document. The self-positioning code currently only works in the same document.

  2. When you drag layers from one document to another, if the destination layer is in a work plan, we adjust the destination to the top of the layers stack.

  The rationale for (2) is a complex: fall of layers added xy by position in the center of the view, regardless of the layer order insertion point. If we inserted just the layers in the order you choose, depending on the location of xy of the artboard (edge of the view, or even out of sight), the layers added wraps being entirely hidden outside the boundaries of the artboard (Hey! I dropped something in my document and nothing happened). It is a very bad behavior and it has side effects, as the layers come out of the artboard unexpectedly at a later time during editing. So we put the layers newly added at the top of the layer stack and let auto-nid - drop layers in different existing work plans. If the work plan of destination is located in the center of the view, the new layers would fall in this work plan. In the upper part.

  We could certainly better on (2) and have them inserted above the selected layer if they would be always visible, but we should solve also (1) first, and there are many cases that we need to worry.

  These two problems are currently on our list of work and should be considered bugs.
