  If your microsoft software is pre-installed it is licensed oem and it related to the first machine that is installed the life of this machine

I'm trying to implement on a test machine to create a test environment complete with XP Pro, Vista (Ultimate), Win 7 Enterprise, Server 2008 R2 and Server 2003, but the Vista key is already in use. The test environment will be used for the field and GPO access test remote testing, evaluation of software (make sure it works), HCL, etc...

  I know no one in the company is to use it as we are all on the XP Pro machines. Is it possible to know who is using it before calling Microsoft to save my test machine and potentially ruin the someone day?

  MS do not store / identify the PC on which the software is installed, it only identifies a key as used if it was installed / activated within a certain period (a short time of xx days)
