  Sorry, but the manual and Service Guide does not show that backlit keyboards are available for this model.

  Have you tried another keyboard to see if it is a hardware problem? You didn't say if it is a laptop or not (even with a laptop, you can connect and external to test keyboard). This machine has always had this problem?

  My brother has an ENVY 17 t-J000 Quad Edition. Only about 6 months. Its backlit keyboard remembers its state of on or off when it reboots or off. When he turns on his laptop back, the keyboard is always if it's him on when he turned off the laptop.

  I just got the ENVY 17 t-J100 Leap Motion backilt keyboard edition. But every time that I reboot or shutdown with the backlight on, it is turned off when I have the laptop or reset. So whenever I have to re - turn on the backlight. Very annoying.

  Anyone else with the jump movement 17 t-J100 having this problem? If so, I hope it's fixed soon. I also can't update the Nvidia drivers then perhaps we need a BIOS update to solve these two problems.

  I just checked to be sure. It turns off if the laptop is turned off and turned on then again - but if I just restart the kbd is running.

  I have model S50 - B - 15 p with 10 Windows installed. I never checked if the backlit keyboard worked on Windows 8.1, as soon as I got it I have upgraded to Windows 10.

  I have installed all the drivers for the Toshiba Windows 10 upgrade page but as before, the keyboard works just not backlit.
  I opened the software utility eco and checked for the backlit keyboard at eco mode settings, however there is no and no parameters exist in BIOS either. The keyboard has the symbol to activate backlit button Z however by pressing FN + Z does nothing.

  Does anyone have any ideas on how to solve this problem? T the same keyboard not this function, or is defective?

  my laptop is Satellite S50T-B1391, which is again just 4 days, I check every thing like you Fn + Z does not work the bios is the new version and nothing is there also nothing backlit in eco utility app

  I check in victory 8.1 before the upgrade and earn 10 all have the same problem

  Illuminated also AFAIK Tecra A11 was not designed and delivered with keyboard so I'm pretty sure you such keyboard does not exist for this Tecra A11.

  Backlit keyboard needs supply and must be connected to the small port on the motherboard. If your card mother doesn t have there is therefore no chance to use the backlit keyboard.

  Today, I installed Windows 8 premium on my P750-13F, which features a backlit keyboard. In order to upgrade to Windows 8 I had to uninstall certain Toshiba drivers and other programs.

  Now, I have fully functional Windows 8, but I don't know how to access the functions of FN key (screen brightness, wifi power button, volume up/down).

  Now that the FN key is innoperative function that I miss the most is that for illumination of the keyboard, because I can still do everything else by other methods (I mean volume up/down, brightness etc) but I don't know how to illuminate the keyboard now.

  I tried to install the Toshiba hardware configuration utility, but it will not install with Windows 8. I like so much if the FN key remains innoperative (although that would be nice if it would not) but what I really want to be able to change the lighting of the keypad.

  I'll be very grateful for any ideas.

  Up to Toshiba doesn t offer Win8 tools and utility there is nothing you can do about it. I hope that will happen very soon.
  So please be patient until the stuff of Win8 will be offered for download.

  I answered my own question and write here for the benefit of all.

  Short answer: NO, you can't replace a no backlit keyboard with the spare of backlit 15 Zbook.

  The motherboard does not the connected device.

  I have the manual maintenance and then disassembled the computer.

  The backlit keyboard (as indicated in the service manual) has 3 cables towards 3 connectors on the motherboard.

  My (non-clavier backlit) has 2 cables going to 2 connectors on the motherboard. There is no connector 3rd on my motherboard.
