  This problem can be caused if there is no change in the keyboard settings. I would suggest trying the following steps and check if it helps.

  (a) change accessibility options in Windows 8
  Press the Windows key + X and click on Control Panel
  Click accessibility, and then select make the keyboard easier to use.

  (b) make sure that you uncheck the box "Turn on mouse keys"

  (c) click on apply and OK.

  My Dell Inspiron 15 5000 series the numeric keypad does not work.  I have attached an external and the numeric keypad doesn't work on it either. What happened and what can change?  Where the notification that NumLock is turned on or off or is mine is broken?

  I went into regedit and changed the value of 0 to 2 in the HKEY_USER registry key. I finally got to work by changing the settings of the mouse, by disabling the key checkbox mouse in the ease of access.

  Thanks for your help, now my numlock lights when the computer is turned on.

  The 'Clear' on the physical keyboard key seems to do the same job... On my Mac keyboard, there is a clearly labelled keys where the Num Lock key is on a PC keyboard (above the number pad 7).  This key is used to NumLock when I press on it in a virtual Windows machine.

  Just bought my dv7-1030eb. On this keyboard is QWERTY Belgium (well, i live in Belgium, so it's OK)

  Unfortunately, the numeric keypad keys work except for the top 4 (home, end, pgup and pgdn).

  It is a problem, that I was just trying to solve on a dv7-1002.

  I found that the solution has been updated of the bios.

  Keys num started working after about five updates and continued to work for the rest. I had to do about 10 updates to get the current bios. The keys are now working very well.

• The commands on the keyboard do not work

  I'm really lost on this one. The keyboard controls function not unless the menu bar is selected.

  There is no wizard Bootcamp in Windows. It is only on the side of OS X. You can download BC6 drivers for a USB (regardless of the Deputy BC) of the side OS X using BCA and run setup.exe in the Bootcamp folder.

  I have a new microsoft ergonomic keyboard sculpt. It comes with a separate numeric keypad, which after working perfectly in the current configuration, suddenly stopped working. No entrance from the numeric keypad is received by the computer (numbers, NumLock, calculator, deletion etc.).
  I have a VGA to Dell U2312HM screen with USB adapters, I have the receivers of keyboard and USB mouse connected.
  The USB ports work with other devices.
  The keyboard still works, but not the numeric keypad.
  Still, the numeric keypad does not if I plugged USB receiver directly on the laptop.
  The drivers are up to date (April 2013)
  This Setup worked perfectly during the first month. Unfortunately, I did not notice exactly when the keypad stopped working, so I do not know if something specific it triggered, but the installation has not been changed in any obvious way.
