Knife and scissors

Can someone tell me how to cut a closed path. I used the knife tool and all I get is a few more points on a line connected.

The scissors tool gives me a warning not to use nearly a point or the end of the path, neither of which I'm close.

The slice tool is obviously not for this work.

I thought a knife tool was supposed to cut the path?

Work on a Mac Pro using AI CS4.

I just did a quick test and figured it out.

Select your closed path.

Press 'c' on the keyboard to switch to the SCISSORS tool. It could be * under * ERASER tool in the toolbar.

Then hover over with her part of the way to th where you want to break or 'snip' it. Click there and actually, it adds a new endpoint to the path and 'opens' the path. If you now select this new point and move it, it may be more clear what is happening.

    Hi I was wondering what is the difference between contact shop photo and photo shop mix? What are two apps that are not the same? and tactile being replaced by mix photo shop. ?

    the great thing that I noticed about touch is beginning with layer of vacuum. with mix, that you can not.

    If mixture photo shop will be a replacement App let you replace photo shop express. as in contact photo shop. perhaps. If the mixture does not have flat layers a little as contact photo store where all the layers are flattened when sending a psd of desktop photo shop touch photo shop using the cloud.

    other than it is a cool app for fast installation.

    Hi Brian,.

    Photoshop Touch was one of our first applications for the iPad and is always extremely popular (on this platform and beyond); like the desktop version of Photoshop, Touch trying to solve dozens of problems in one place.  Mix differs on some points; one, it was developed after the creative cloud and so open and file sharing; connection for applications of office and even from other mobile applications - files is very easy, thanks to the creative cloud.  Two goals from Mix to perform a task (selective changes and composite simple) very well and with minimal experience.  Think of the touch as a Swiss army knife and mix as a steak knife - are useful and share tasks, but each are fundamentally different.  All of that said, you can see Mix evolving into a more powerful application over time.  Today, Touch enjoys unique advantages of multiple features and platforms.

    I'm not able to talk in detail about what it is, we have not yet made or released, but I can tell you that two applications have very passionate users and listen very carefully.

  • WVC-200 with Hgigh Linksys Gain 7dbi antenna to 200 m router with antenna 10dbi

    There is also a possibility to make parabolic reflectors for your existing antenna. I tried it and it actually works very well thrust transmission significantly in desired directions (and remove the signal in unwanted directions).

    Very little work is involved and no special materials or tools. I did my just a pizza box takeaway reflectors (for party support for the model, see link below) and aluminum of some beercans for reflector surfaces. My idea of humor at the time... Well the point is that basically, you take what you have lying around. Tools: a pair of scissors, a knife and a little glue.

    http://www.freeantennas.com/projects/Template2/index.html

    I'm not kidding. It is interesting to try especially for the situation you describe when you can put reflectors on the router antennas and cam, that is to say both ends of the transmission of the link.

  • Cut a section of the diagonal line

    Hello

    I'm working on an invitation with line segments.  When I cut the line segment there is always a small gap when you zoom in, which is between the edge of the page to the line segment.  I'm looking to find a way to close the gap.  Using the scissors tool it crops not the segment of the line up against the edge of the page. A few tips on how to have a diagonal line with a line segment right trim? I also tried the knife and fade to and still sidelined.

  • Crop to artboard (need vector output)

    Greetings,

    Essentially, I need to crop some of the work to the artboard.  All of the suggestions I've read so far include the option to export, but I need this design for import into Flash.  My monitor does not have anything other than vector drawings.  I can't export to any kind of raster or pdf format.  Ideally, it should stay as a file.  When I import to Flash, it keeps everything outside the boundaries of the artboard (highlighted in red on my screen).

    It is a group project. I made this drawing, I just wanted to add the lines of perspective on the ground.  Now, it's kinda a messy mess when he goes to the Flash.  And Illustrator is not my strong point.  I tried in vain to 'clear', scissors, knife and a few other things but I don't really know how these tools work.  I also tried the approach of clipping mask, but he wanted not to combine my rectangle "mask" with lines on the floor.

    I use AI CS4 and Flash CS6.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.  Thank you.

    ScreenShot01.jpg

    Don't have flash to test, btu I think if you draw a rectangle the size of your plan of work above all, select all, and then make a mask can work.

    If ntop, you could use pathfinder > split (or cut out on hidden object) to get rid of the extra lines

  • Upgrade CPU satellite 1900 101

    Hi people!
    I have a few questions on my laptop. I know that is a bit old, but I have to stick with it: P

    OK, my intention is to update its card as much as possible. First, I changed the hard drive for a 40 GB one (just for me).
    I want to upgrade the memory, now, I have 512 MB and 1 GB is even. In the said laptop graphic card it can be improved only to 768 MB, but read the Intel 845 chipset flyer, I think that the problem is the hardness to the internal memory stick, under the keyboard. But I opened and with a knife and patience reached to access the module. Is therefore possible to change my 256 MB sodimm modules for two 512 MB and have no problem to detect? My bios is ready for them?

    And the difficult, on the processor. I know you always say that updates in laptops are not well seen, because the bios and the overheating problem... so is possible to change my 1.6 GHz Pentium 4 [SL5VH | http://processorfinder.intel.com/details.aspx?sSpec=SL5VH] for a 2.6 Ghz P4 processor [SL6PP | http://processorfinder.intel.com/details.aspx?sSpec=SL6PP], or similar and well detected it by BIOS?

    If I test it on my mobo, is sure to turn on the laptop to see if the speed is the right? Have any risk of rupture of the mobo?
    Thank you.

    Hi mate,

    I think the biggest problem with this history of upgrade is that maybe the components inside your machine as the chipset are capable on the flyer to do even more, but the manufacturer of the system (in this case Toshiba) laptop made a few limitations that reduce some features or down to adapt to the needs of manufacturers so the system does not work just fine.

    I guess that your system is not in warranty, so if something to do with your machine it doesn´t really of importance since if damage you something on your machine, you can be sure that it will come a new machine. :)

    Regarding the memory modules, I think that you need to insert the stick of 512 MB on top of the motherboard because if the system supports no more than 768 MB you can stick on the bottom of the machine, a 256 MB stick.

    And regarding the CPU: s is not possible as there are a truly BEST cooling system then now. I think that the module of cooling of the machine is not able to manage this powerful CPU. If you really install the CPU, you'll have a fan that will never stop.

    Welcome them

  • ThinkPad T530 built-in camera does not

    Hi people,

    I got my thinkpad T530 last week. I tested Skype after you open the box and it works. Then I took off the original 320G HARD drive and put my SSD 830 on it, reinstalled the win8 and blah blah blah.

    Last night when I tried to talk to my parents on Skype, I discovered the camera is dead. I tried to do:

    (1) according to other threads to uninstall most of the unnecessary drivers.

    (2) reinstall the camera driver;

    (3) remove the ricoh media driver;

    (4) update of the BIOS;

    (5) tired to locate someone has said, the problem of the "private life". But the video/camera option is not even appear by Fn + F6;

    (6) downloaded and installed the thirdparty AMCAM and it says no camera device are.

    Please let me know if there is anything else I can do.

    Thank you

    Problem solved.

    This thread has helped.

    http://forums.Lenovo.com/T5/W-series-ThinkPad-Laptops/unable-to-access-camera-on-W530/TD-p/819151

    Generally speaking, it is a fairly common problem among the T530, W530 and similar series.

    You need how the bezel and attach the camera w / son.

    I spent a whole afternoon to find solutions, install/reinstall drivers, calling the customer and etc.

    And this is a new computer.

    Just reminder troubleshoot in this order:

    1. Check if the driver is properly installed;
    2. disable the privacy settings by press Fn + F6. Set as 'normal '. If you do not see this option, then just go straight 4 or 5;
    3. Check if a third party application may use the camera (I used Skype); If not,
    4. Check access bios-i/o-If the camera is turned off. If not, 95% is due to the poor design of the camera and cable. you have to be careful, but don't be afraid, this is not as hard as you think.
    5. Take the three bit wide sticker (using a sharp knife) and the three screws off the coast;
    6. reattach the wire connected with the camera. When necessary, you can even remove the camera, clean the port by blowing
    7. Cancel the procedure of posting.

    Thoughts:

    I don't really know what to say about lenovo QC. I've owned several thinkpads: X60S, X60T, R61, W510 and it most recently bought T530. The camera worked a few days and it just went dead.

    sigh.

  • A700 + SSD

    Well, it wasn't easy, the main culprit being crappy A700 BIOS configuration utility.

    If you are thinking to replace the optical on your IdeaCentre A700 disk drive like I did here is what I learned that could be useful to know before you start.

    • First, the BIOS does not boot to a HD/SSD connected to the OD SATA port. It will boot fom an OD, but not HD/SSD. Maybe the W7 Installer allows the boot manager must be installed on the bootable hard disk and Windows files on another not bootable but it was a disappointment for me, because I didn't reinstall the OS.
    • If you think no problem, "I'll trade just on the MB SATA cables"... think again. The development of SATA ports and the length of the cable SATA OD does not allow for it, so you will need a slimline SATA extension cable.
    • On the side of MB HD cable is straight, and the Division of the OPPOSITION is an angle. When exchanging, the extra height of the straight cable will not allow for the lid of metal shield EM fits correctly. There are also short SATA cable with angular connectors on both sides.

    OK, in the end my A700 is the QuickStart and works well with a new SSD 64 GB-boot/OS.

    Does not seek to put the conspiracy theories here, but one thing comes to mind... "defective by design". Lenovo please prove I'm wrong and get out an update of the decent BIOS for the A700.

    Wow, that's old enough... Let me do some research.

    I can tell you my A700 is still work and boot from SSD (ad. fingers crossed

    Replace with the SSD HARD drive was out of the question at this time because I could only afford a 64 GB one. Maybe these days I could have gone that route and simply replace it with a 512 GB one.

    So, Yes, swapping the cables on the side of the motherboard worked, but it was a bit of a pain. I'll show you why:

    Click here to see the image

    It is a picture of my A700 MB before adding the SSD. I don't shoot any pictures after the change, sorry. The black cable (upward) goes to the 3.5-inch HARD drive, and Red (bottom) goes to the slot load optical drive. That boot you from the SSD won't let the BIOS if it is connected to the SATA ODD port, you will need to connect the black cable to the SATA port bottom... but as a straight through cable, it will fall into the EMI Shield when you try to put it back together. You need a cable to this end. As I learned this too late, I simply took a knife and removed the connector on the cable of some plastics so he would get just enough, but not to try with your)<>

    Well, now for the red cable... the problem with this one was that it was too short. You can see from the photo that the cables are connected, but the SATA ports are reversed... Let's say a points upwards and the other downwards, to red in the upper hole cable, it had to be rotated, so length was the issue here, but I have already one at hand:

    It's just a slimline sata cable extension, like the caddy that I had bought for my SSD had this type of connector.

    Well, it's done. Just put it all together again and it booted OK (of course, I had cloned the HARD disk in the front SSD). It has been a while, but my A700 still works very well, I have even upgraded to Windows 8 and boots within 10 seconds after pressing the power button.

    For some reason, I still love this machine. A beautiful design with good ideas and great care, but marred by an implementation of shit and the absolute lack of support from its manufacturer.

    Hope you will find this is useful. Good luck.

  • How to remove the rear cover to the hard drive.

    I own a laptop, a HP Pavilion dv6, System ID 3583, product ID LY076UA.

    When you turn on the laptop hard disk cover has no screws, it seems to be stuck in the chassis. What to do, take a knife and try to lift up?

    All the diagrams that I find slightly different models shows screwed on covers HD online.

    I also need to replace the fan, I would not mind a maintenance manual appropriate.

    Hello

    This is the HP Pavilion dv6 Maintenance & Service Guide. There's a latch of service you must release to access with the optical and hard drive. This is why there is no screws.

  • OfficeJet 7610: 7610 print cartridge cannot move

    I've changed a yellow cartridge & start printing several days ago. Work today & I get the error message in the thematic section. There are no jams & the print cartridge is stuck behind the shield with no way to access it. How to fix?

    In fact, after having lost a lot of time, including the creation of this account, I had a flashlight and stuck my head in there so I can get a decent view of the little slot on the right side of the cartridge pool area. I found that the reason why the cartridge wouldn't (couldn't) move is that the yellow ink cartridge had spontaneously jumped out of his seat and was blocking the whole mechanism of movement. I slipped a yellow cartridge a little table in the slot and pushed back knife and was then unable to take the cartridge set out in the open where I could reinsert the yellow cartridge back in place. This kind of thing can happen and not be easily identified or corrected is something of a classic design flaw. In a Word, it should have been anticipated by the manufacturer.

    And that's all.

    Bought TWO HP REAL HP 60 INK CARTRIDGES OR WILL PRINT YELLOW, these things are not CHEAP. Now I have two inkcartridges 60 HP complete that cost a small fortune and I'm OUT of MONEY.

    WHAT IS THE DEAL WE PURCHASE the real thing and they are NOT good either.

    I use to be a printer, now I'm just an old man. We have always used the DISTILLED WATER on our Presses Offset for chemicals are not becomes contaminated by the process.

    I dipped the head of the ink cartridge in the DISTILLED WATER for several hours, and in a few hours, I wiped the head and ink yellow was appear on my own laundry.

    I did it with two cartridges and after soaking in DISTILLED WATER worked.

    I took a knife and scratched a little black plastic to see if the cartridges were made of gold, because they are so expensive. They are not gold.

  • Printer AIO 922, Solution of white lines

    I have a printer Dell AIO 922 a 3 or 4 years. It has been a very solid performer like a use inkjet housekeeping and I wouldn't hesitate to buy another Dell printer based on this one.

    Recently, it started showing the white lines, or more precisely, the horizontal white gaps. As the snapshot on the right. I searched everywhere but not found a solution. Available notice usually includes nozzles cleaning or using the alignment. A proposed post to wipe coding transparent plastic strip. These things did not help. Being an engineer and a professional problem solver, I decided to understand it. I hope that it is beneficial for someone else, as I often took advantage of other messages.

    First note is that it is a paper feeding issue, nozzles ink jet not blocked because there is no ink "missing." If you close the gap, the letters would be properly trained. The gap that has happened on each 37 mm (1.4 inches) to the bottom of the page. I was thinking one of the plastic gears in the drive of the paper feed system is broken or clogged with impurities, etc. With that, I decided to open it up and look at the bowels of the printer. I realize that many people prefer to go out and buy a new printer that do this, but it's for the rest of us. Because it is unusable, and there is no alternative available, I had little to lose.

    I unplugged all the cables power and carefully removed the top of the hinge scanner, being careful not to damage the cables sheet fragile 3 or 4. So I removed the 3 screws in the lid of the lower unit (printing). Carefully open and removed the lid of the snap-in using a knife and a flat blade. ATTENTION: you may need a second set of hands very patient to avoid damaging the hinges and cables that connect the top scanner at the base of the Ribbon. All cables can be removed gently from their connectors, but it's a little tricky. Tip: tape the scanner to scanner bed cover and the support arm to scan at the base of the scanner so that they are not flop around as you work on this.

    Now, you are looking in the Open box. On the right side of the friction of the main axis of power (the tree is approximately 1/2 "in diameter and has a rough surface to pull the paper into the printer) is a thin, transparent plastic disc. There are thin black lines around its outside edge that pass through an opening with an optical sensor that the shaft turns, driven by the engine. This provides a precise location feedback paper power control.  The disc is difficult to achieve, so I took a Q-Tip with alcohol to friction and wiped two sides that I shot it through the white plastic gear. Make sure you do not damage it. I repeated until the Q-Tip has come back clean. It looks like a small jet of ink mist gets type everywhere inside the printer, judging by other surfaces. So, after a few years of use, he had finally started do the misread encoder and cause the power issue of paper resulting. I have put together and he has beautifully reprinted.

    In this printer and I suspect in many other inkjet printers, there are 2 sets of engine controls, mechanisms and encoders. One for the race the printhead horizontally and one for paper feeding. In my research, I have never seen this mentioned. I've seen many, many messages asking for solutions to the "horizontal"white lines "-much of which doesn't seem to find solutions.  So, here's my karmic contribution to those who are willing to delve a bit inside the box. Good luck.

    Awesome! Thanks a lot for posting this solution. I just followed your procedure for my Dell 922 AIO printer works again.

  • Defender Otterbox for Blackberry 8330 blackBerry Smartphones

    I just bought a case Otterbox Defender for my BB 8330. I have just received in the mail today and so far, it seems to be all that it promises. It has a clear "protective screen" that covers the screen and full keyboard, it has a login in to the trackball and extends on top to cover the back of the phone as well. Then there a hard what they called a hard hi-impact polycarbonate shell, which for me was just very very solid hard plastic. And this part is in two halves. Once you have smoothed all of the air bubbles and alighned properly on the phone screen protector, place it in the hard shell and snap the two halves together. This part was the only thing that I had a problem with. The lower part of it didn't meet, and then once I got it together the top wouldn't stay together. Finally if, after squeezing it together and take it apart and squeezing together again and again hand over and over for about five minutes and with the help of my fiancé, we have managed to fit together. Then it is a silicone so even if one place just fit perfect, his won't go anywhere I don't think skin that extends around all this. It also came with this nice clip Holster that is made of the same stuff that the shell is made of. Put it all together, I don't think it could hurt a bomb. But I will not intentionally fall my phone to find out or the other. Give it time and I'm sure it will happen on its own. OtterBox makes the Defender for different types of blackberries series, here is a link to the on some of them technical backgrounder

    Also, this is the link with the Defender for the 8300 Series Otterbox website & you can see good p...

    On the website of shopblackberry & otterbox site, they run about $50, but I found mine new on ebay for $32 & free shipping. I hope this review was helpful. I'm not very good at writing of comments, this is actually the first I wrote what it is, but I hope it helps.

    The only complaint I have with it so far is the screen protector that spans the back of the phone, where it goes on the camera lens it makes your photos and videos come out blurry. I think I might take my exacto knife and cut a hole for the lens of the camera, because that drives me crazy. I hate blurry photos.

    Overall, it feels a bit stocky & heavy, but if it keeps my heavy cottages to destroy another phone, I don't mind. Typing is fine for me, but I have long nails and I type with them, so there is not really anything for the screen protector keep at as it can if you were just using your fingers, so I'm not sure if it would make a difference. If it's in the clip of the case you can still access the trackball and some of the keyboard, but not all that, but if you wanted to just access your music or any other medium you can do without having to remove the clamp from the case. You can still access all the keys on the sides of the phone, the convenience keys, volume keys & the button mute / standby on top. On the left side, he has even a flap in silicone case that covers the USB port and the headphone jack to keep dust and dirt out. Overall, I think I'll like it. I always have not dropped it yet so I don't know how it will be just this area. But when I do I will update the thread.

    Hello, I'm not a great designer, but I know the basics and a little more. for the most part, I work with photohop and Illustrator. Now, I create Stickers for an ALPS printer, so many layers and I need to cut out several items. Lines and apartments. I tried the knife and pathfinder or a mask, but I can't do things.  the cyaan inside needs to go.

    Help, please. I'm on a deadline

    It is a vector drawing, but I thought about it already, changing the order and using pathfinder. at first it didn't cut completely, but I could just set the fill to nothing and it worked. Thanks for the quick reply

    Well want to can someone help pointing at me - why the tool cuts (for a simple in CS6 path) totally does NOT despite the fact that the layer is NOT locked, OR 'Lock Slices' accidentally on is checked in the menu 'View' Illustrator CS6?

    It is the slice tool you are trying. The only wrong.

    Use a knife or scissors.
