Yes, this says it's not compatible. So I don't think it'll work in Win7. There a firewire connection? If this is the case you can use it if the laptop has firewire top. All you need is a cable

  • Networking a laptop 64 bit Windows 7 with a desktop computer Windows Vista 64-bit

I have a Dell desktop running 64-bit Windows Vista with a USB connected HP Photosmart printer operating system.  My wife used to have a laptop with an XP operating system and we have had no problem sharing the printer.  Now she has a laptop (HP) laptop to Windows 7 64 bit and fails to print.

His laptop is connected wireless to Verizon FIOS router (wireless-g, I think).  I am connected by ethernet.

If I look at a map of the comprehensive network of my Vista PC I can see his laptop and explore appropriate records of (public) level on his hard drive.   Sharing my Vista PC and are discovery options: network discovery:; File sharing:. Public folder sharing:; Printer sharing:; Password protected sharing: Off; The media sharing: Off.  My Vista shows the home network as a WORKING group.

I use McAfee SecurityCenter and when I open the McAfee network map it also shows my wife's cell phone with its IP address.

On my wife's cell phone two PCs appear on the map of the comprehensive network of the window and it shows my PC IPv4, IPv6 and MAC address, but if I try to 'Open' from my PC to the icon on the map, I get an error message suggesting I be spelled the name wrong or there is a network problem (error code 0 x 80070035 the network path was not found).  I ran the diagnostic of the error dialog box and he suggested to "make sure that the device allows incoming connections for printing and file sharing", the windows firewall settings.  Its network card qualifies to the network TPEN1, identity, assigned to the Verizon router. It shows his laptop connected by a dotted line (wireless)? to TPEN1 which is connected to a switch.  My PC is also connected to the switch which in turn is connected by a bridge to the Internet.  Options advanced sharing his PC for the home or work (current profile) are set on: turn on the discovery network. Enable file sharing and printing; Turn on sharing so anyone with network access can read and write files in public folders;  Media streaming is disabled; Use 128-bit encryption to protect file sharing connections (recommended); Disable password protected sharing;  Use the user accounts and passwords to connect to other computers.

Its Norton Internet Security Network security map shows my PC as being in line with trust to full trust level.  It also shows the Swith and 2 generic devices with Shared Trust.

    So... anyone have any suggestions?

    Hello

    Maybe this can help.

    - ---------------------

This message looks like a long history because I don't know what is the level of knowledge of the user, and what has already been done.

The info goes through the motions of the configuration and verify most of the common aspects of the functionality of Windows OS' LAN.

    ----------------------

Win7 when configured on the peer-to-peer network has three types of configurations of sharing.

Group residential network = only works between Win 7 computers. This type of configuration, it is very easy to entry level users to start sharing network.

Working network = fundamentally similar to previous methods of sharing that allow you to control what, how and to whom the records would be shared with.

    Public share
= network Public (as Internet Café) in order to reduce security risks.

For the best newspaper of the results of each computer screen system and together all computers on a network of the same name, while each computer has its own unique name.

Make sure that the software firewall on each computer allows free local traffic. If you use 3rd party Firewall on, Vista/XP Firewall Native should be disabled, and the active firewall has adjusted to your network numbers IP on what is sometimes called the Zone of confidence (see part 3 firewall instructions

    General example, http://www.ezlan.net/faq#trusted
Please note that some 3rd party software firewall continue to block the same aspects it traffic Local, they are turned Off (disabled). If possible, configure the firewall correctly or completely uninstall to allow a clean flow of local network traffic. If the 3rd party software is uninstalled, or disables, make sure Windows native firewall is active .

Since you have a network with Win 7 and the other version of Windows, you must configure Windows 7 as work network.

In the center of the network, by clicking on the type of network opens the window to the right.

Choose your network type. Note the check box at the bottom and check/uncheck depending on your needs.

Vista file and printer sharing - http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb727037.aspx

When you have finished the configuration of the system, it is recommended to restart everything the router and all computers involved.

    -------------

If necessary check specifically Permission/security settings.

Point to a folder that wants to share do right click and choose Properties.

    In the properties

Click on the Security tab shown in the bellows of the photo on the right) and verify that users and their permissions (see photo below Centre and left) are configured correctly. Then do the same for the authorization tab.

This screen shot is to Win 7, Vista menus are similar.

    http://www.ezlan.NET/Win7/permission-security.jpg

The Security Panel and the authorization Panel, you need to highlight each user/group and consider that the authorization controls are verified correctly.

When everything is OK, restart the network (router and computer).

Please note that the users and groups listed on the screen shoot are just an example. Your list will focus on how your system is configured.

    ---------------------

You should consider that many times the final solution could involve total uninstall of the 3rd party security Suits.

In this case, you can be set at the same level with installing Microsoft Security Essentials which are used in the applications of a native Vista/Win 7 firewall and AntiVirus/AntiSpyware.

  • Network printers go to status suspended when printing on 64-bit windows systems 7

    Hello

This is a weird one, our Organization has mainly Pro Windows 32-bit windows systems, but we have a few Windows Pro 64-bit systems out there that are affected by the following disadvantages that he would call.

When they print from these 64-bit machines print jobs go straight to the suspended state and they must manually start printing.

    I tried the following:

-Creation of a print mark separated for the printer and install the latest drivers 64-bit for the printer, however the print jobs are still get suspended and must be started manually.

-Removal of all the elders of the pilot off the coast of these machines and reinstall the print device.

-J' tried various setting advanced in the printer preferences, even if the printer is set up to automatically print this problem still occurs.

  • Printer has stopped printing on 64-bit Windows 7 HP Probook computer laptop using the USB connection.

I recently bought a HP Probook and connected the laptop to an old but very faithful computer HP Laserjet 5 p. The HP Probook uses a Windows 7 64-bit operating system. The printer is connected to one of the USB ports on the laptop.

Printing worked fine until yesterday. To my knowledge, no update of the operating system took place. I tried change usb port, remove and reinstall the driver package, start and stop of the spool printing, deleting the temporary files in spool it print without result. When I click on print a Test Page, it seems to go to the printer, but is located in the coil. I also ran Print Microsoft FixIt which can't find any problem apart from the removal of the queue.

To check the cable, I plugged the printer on an old Vista HP Pavilion laptop and no problem printing.

I'm at a loss what to try next and would therefore appreciate all thoughts.

    Thank you.

    1. go to the Start Menu

    2. all programs

    3 file HP

    5 down to uninstall.

Another way to check if it is deleted.

    1. click on Start Menu

    2. type in the Device Manager in the search bar

    3. in devices, look under the tabs, IMAGE Manager and DEVICES, PRINTERS and another tab that could involve the printer.

    4. If he's there, RIGHT CLICK and uninstall.

  • TdrDELAY framework for laptop 64 bit Windows 7

I have a continuous problem that the AMD display driver stopped responding.

One of the solutions that can solve the problem was to:

    Open regedit and then-
    Navigate to the.
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE-System-CurrentControlSet-Control------drivers graphics.
Right-click the field and click New / QWORD (64-bit) value
Then name it: TdrDelay-> double click-> set the value 8.

    My questions:

    1. when I Open regedit I see that the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE and not the System\CurrentControlSet, etc...

Assuming that I was on the right place, I created a new /QWORD and set 8.

When I went to check, the TdrDelay had disappeared.

    Where at - it go?

    2. If there is no TdrDelay listed, this means that my laptop has zero time?

    3. How can I check if it is indeed a TdrDelay somewhere in my system?

    Please let me know.  Thxs.

    Hello

TdrDelay specifies the number of seconds that the GPU can delay the preempt the GPU Scheduler application. It is actually the time-out threshold. The default value is 2 seconds.

  • No 64-bit Windows 7 driver found for printer HP PSC 2175xi

I have a new computer laptop 64 bit Windows 7 and I want to connect my HP PSC2175xi all-in-one printer him via the USB port.  The automatic detection and installation can't find a print driver for it.  Please, where can I get the 64-bit of Windows 7 for the printer, or at least a similar driver so that I can print?

Try the following: go to start, devices and printers, adding a printer, choose some dummy port as LPt1 and select Windows Update.  It will take several minutes for the updated list, once the series HP PSC 2170 should appear under the manufacturer "HP" printers (not Hewlett-Packard).  At this point, cancel the installation and plug the USB cable and the drivers should be installed automatically as described here.

If the above does not work for some reason that you can manually download the drivers from the catalog of Microsoft Update Site.  Use IE, no other browsers are supported.  Put "HP psc 2170" in the search box, the drivers, you will need are a 11.6 Mb in size and the 2.2 MB.
