L2/3 switch intervlan behavior

Hello what is happening in the case of an L3 Switch that is capable of routing packets (in the presence of a route of entry) of the port(blongs to Vlan40) access to a trunkport(allowed_vlan_90).are that has allowed us to deliver this package, so yes, it will keep its tag of vlan 40?

let s say for example in a l3 switch i configured an interface vlan 10 with an ip adress then i configured a physical switch interface as trunk port and i allowed only vlan 10,if trafic sourced from vlan20 needs to ne routed to an ip nexthop thats in the same network as vlan 10,will it be routed?
Hello Halil, lodging link Trunk is through a VLAN between swithces is happens by VLAN Tagging, also known as a frame, is to help identify the packets that pass through the trunk links. When an Ethernet frame through a trunk link, a special tag of VLAN is added to the frame and sent through the trunk link. That happens at the end of the trunk link, the tag is removed and the frame is sent to the port of access links correct according to the table of the switch, so that the receiving end is not aware of any information of VLAN can you specify by what you want to pass by below
if trafic sourced from vlan20 needs to ne routed to an ip nexthop thats in the same network as vlan 10
You want to pass a traffic is source of vlan 20 for destination vlan 10 who are allowed on the trunk and then will he road, this is your request? If so, then what I explained above for vlan trunking normally the framework would flow. It could be that useful... GI - rate if this can help...

    Hello

I think that the AggregationBehavior has been set to 0 by default for this discoverer knitted the same as previous versions. Parameter 1 active discoverer of aggregate, other items there are situations less if the totals are empty.

There may be situations where this want aggregated items where they can be aggregated, but most people set to 1 so that the totals are not empty. Also with more / Viewer ofter the EnhancedAggregationStrategy is set to 1, so the AggregationBehavior has no effect. See note 208366.1 metalink for more details.

  • How can I get the old behavior back to switching tab?

I have installed Firefox 8 today to give him another chance after a pretty bad experience of the passage of the FF 3.6 to the FF 4.0.
Right now, I am dealing with most of the disadvantages of the switch, but it is something I don't understand.

What happened to the behavior of the tab navigation? I mean, I used to be able to switch from left to right tabs with Ctrl + Tab and from right to left with Ctrl + Shift + Tab. And it was perfect for me.
CTRL + Tab now opens a kind of a window to preview, and Ctrl + Shift + Tab opens a list of all the tabs.

How could I get the behavior previous return? I'm too used to change myself, everything just because someone came up with a new way that he thought would be better.

  • Strange behavior. 2590 relay switch and Get position vi.

I'm reading a PXI2590 1 x 4 MUX switch relays that I fires only when necessary. I know the names of the relays are MUX01, MUX23 and MUX0123. If I switch, niConnect channels INIT, wait Debounce and can get the Position of the relay, I get a correct reading (closed or open). I then called niSwitch close .vi and the switch remains in this position.

However if I just called INIT, niSwitch getting the Position of relay and close vi seems the selector to a different value (default?). I confirmed this behavior using a HF generator and Analyzer of spec.

Is what I do with these evil vi? Can I use DAQmx driver for this switch instead?

Correct me if I'm wrong.  First you call OR-SWITCH boot (not initialize with topology) or initialize options with the 'reset device' Boolean is unwired? (which means reset = true)

Then, in a case: call OR-SWITCH connect channels, wait OR-SWITCH Debounce, OR-SWITCH get relay post, then NOR-SWITCH close (close a session, not close relay).  Then physically measure opens or shorts.

In the other case: appeal OR-SWITCH get relay post, then NOR-SWITCH close.  Then physically measure opens or shorts.

The results are the second case has openings (ch0 is connected to the com).  This is expected behavior since the indicator 'reset the device' in one of the screws initialize is TRUE if left thread continues.  However, if you physically measure different values compared to what OR-SWITCH get post is back, so please submit your screws and a list of the steps and the values measured for each stage.  I hope this helps!

  • C3750 interVLAN routing - no internet access for customer switches

I have a stupid question with my itinerary (intervlan).

I have a test configuration to a stack of C3750 as core and a few 2960's like access switches.

http://users.fraeco.be/setup.png - switch at the bottom is the new network (VLANNED). The switches on the left is the current network of production (10.1.1.0/24)

There will be 6 VLAN but at the moment I have one configured. VLAN50 - 10.5.1.0/24

The C3750 I can ping my network current production, internet, other VLANs in the testsetup... Everything.

Of the C2960 I can ping other VLAN, join the entry door, reach the router, reached the currenct production network. But I can't reach internet. I have configured 'ip default-gateway 10.5.1.254' on the C2960. C3750 relevant config is down below.

How can I reach other networks connected to the router and the internet not switches to access? I'm trying just to ping 8.8.8.8.

I have no idea about your configuration exactly but for the account information that u as far as I can tell... Configure all the respective host to its ip address vlan respective gateway.

There should be a static route pointing to the router on the switch of the MLS.

And also, make sure that it should be static (or entered dynamic in case you use PGI) of all subnets of VLANs pointing to the ip directly connected inverter MLS.

    It will certainly work.

  • behavior of vSwitch in Virtual Switch Tagging (VST mode)

    Hello

I have a problem with a vSwitch within an ESX 4 environment.

On my vSwitch is a virtual network, where the port group has been linked to a defined VLANID, so for a real-world scenario, a physical switch has a port configured in access with a predefined VLANID 8021q mode.

In my scenario the port configured in this way can receive frames already labeled (the generic behavior is that the port receives the unmarked frames). An access of a switch port generally accepts executives 8021 consistent q If the vlanID is the same as configured in its behavior (t - it - Cisco http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/switches/datacenter/nexus5000/sw/configuration/guide/cli_rel_4_0_1a/AccessTrunk.html), otherwise the switch removes them.

    VMware says this:

"Switch ports group virtual tags all outbound frames and removes the tags for all incoming frames." It also ensures that the frames on a VLAN do not leak in one VLAN different. »

OK I agree with this, but if the virtual switch receives a frame already tagged (with the right tag) must be just to not let him down, as Cisco?

The switch ports group virtual tags all outbound frames and removes the tags for all incoming frames. It also ensures that the frames on a VLAN do not leak in one VLAN different.

Now, I also checked the actions for the ordinary vSwitch:

A virtual machine sends frames unmarked on a portgroup with a specified VLAN id (for example, 300) = works

A virtual machine sends tagged frames (VLAN 300) on a portgroup with the same VLAN id specified (for example, 300) = failed

A virtual machine is sending of tagged frames (for example, 300) on a portgroup with VLAN 4095 specified = works

A virtual machine sends frames unmarked on a portgroup with VLAN 4095 specified = fail

If the vSwitch behavior is very similar to the distributed vSwitch, that it does not accept any marking made by the virtual machine in regular trade, even if it is the VLAN correct. If affecting portgroup VLAN 4095 it throws frames marked, very likely because we cannot specify any "VLAN native. I think that's the answer to your original question.

  • Windows 7 automatically switch to the basic theme (no aero). I need a way to disable this behavior.

This is very similar to what is described here: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/939423
    And here: http://social.answers.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/vistaperformance/thread/c7b869e1-5138-48a3-b09d-419f76e2f728

However, it's for Windows 7, Vista.

    Scenario:
On a 3 screen inches (1920 x 1080 each) Setup ran on an ATI HD4890 (1 GB of RAM, 2 screens running) + HD 3450 (256 MB RAM, 1 screen running), whenever anything graphic intensive is put on the HD3450-driven screen, Windows will complain "the color scheme has been changed in Windows Basic - the color scheme current has exceeded its allowed memory. then the color scheme has been changed automatically to improve performance. Click here to see more information. "and change my basic theme Windows.

However, it is worth noting that the 3450 is not stressed at all (all the load is put on the 4890 according to GPU - Z).

It shouldn't be a problem with the system (6 GB, on Win7 x 64) RAM or processing power (i7 920).

Is there a way to disable Windows automatically "improving performance" by changing my theme?

    Hi whsper,

Welcome to Microsoft Answers Community Forums.

Basically, the aero theme is enabled according to the video card.

Windows Display Driver Model is the architecture of graphic driver for video card drivers that are running versions of Microsoft Windows starting with Windows Vista.

WDDM driver model version 1.0 is that it does not support multiple drivers in a configuration multi-adaptateur, multi-screen, the latest version is 2.0 is introduced.

Windows disables the window manager of the Bureau (DWM) that controls the transparent glass effect or other effects of the Aero theme. The DWM manages the office and the main display settings in Windows.

I suggest you to check with your manufacturer for the latest drivers support your hardware configuration.

    Hope this information helped you.

  • Cisco SG300 / ASA 5505 intervlan routing problem

    Dear all

I have a problem with the configuration correctly sg300 layer 3 behind the ASA 5505 switch (incl. license more security)

    The configuration is the following:

CISCO SG300 is configured as a layer 3 switch

VLAN native 1: 192.168.1.254, default route ip address (inside interface ASA 192.168.1.1)

    VLAN defined additional switch

    VLAN 100 with 192.168.100.0/24, default gateway 192.168.100.254

    VLAN 110 with 192.168.110.0/24, default gateway 192.168.110.254

    VLAN 120 with 172.16.0.0/16, default gateway 172.16.10.254

Of the VLANS (100,110,120) different, I am able to connect to all devices on the other VIRTUAL local networks (with the exception of Native VLAN 1; is not the ping requests)

From the switch cli I can ping my firewall (192.168.1.1) and all the other gateways of VLANs and vlan (VLAN1, 100, 110, 120) devices

Asa cli I can only ping my switch (192.168.1.254) port, but no other devices in other VLAN

My question is this. What should I change or installation in the switch configuration or asa so that other VLANs to access the Internet through the ASA. I will not use the ASA as intervlan routing device, because the switch does this for me

I tried to change the asa int e0/1 in trunkport (uplink port switch also), to enable all the VLANS, but as soon as I do that, I can not ping 192.168.1.254 ASA cli more.

    Any help is greatly appreciated

    Concerning

    Edwin

Hi Edwin, because the switch is layer 3, the only necessary behavior is to ensure that default gateways to the computer are set on the SVI interface connection to the switch to make sure that the switch is transfer traffic wished to the ASA.

The configuration between the ASA and the switch must stay true by dot1q, such as the vlan all other, unidentified native VLAN tagged.

Also, if I'm not wrong, on the SAA you must set the security level of the port to 100.

  • Problem of layer 3 of SGE2010 with installing intervlan routing

I'm new to the switches for small businesses and could use assistance in the configuration of routing for intervlan between several VLANs on the switch. I changed the 3 layer mode and configure the VLAN. When I enter an IP address for VLAN2, I disconnect (VLAN1 ip) configuration on the switch interface and I can't access the switch unless I reset it. I tried several times and each time it has the same. Is there something else I need installation before you configure the ip address for other VLANs?

    Hi Jacqueline,.

Thank you for your participation in the community of support to small businesses. My name is Nico Muselle of Cisco Sofia HWC.

This is the normal way for the switch to behave. There are 2 ways to work around this problem.

    1. You assign a port to the VLAN2. After the configuration of the IP address, you connect your PC to this port and make sure that it is in the same subnet as the address IP 2 VLAN.
    2. You assign a static IP address for the vlan by default first and make sure your connected PC is in the same subnet.

The reason for this behavior is that the switch has its DHCP client enabled, if no DHCP server is available, it will return to its default IP 192.168.1.254 (which I assume that you connect to the configuration).

However, once you set up a static IP address on the switch, the DHCP client and the default IP address is disabled, which means that the obtained from DHCP or the default IP address 192.168.1.254 are more accessible.

I would go to step 2, because it's the simplest solution to your problem and you would like a default static IP VLAN in any case, I guess.

    I hope this helps!

    Hello Brent Spore.

Thank you for reaching out to the Community Support from Apple. I know how it is important to keep your Mac running properly, and I want to help him.  Whenever we see the behavior as what you described, it is a good idea to test the symptoms in a separate user in safe mode. This will help us determine if the remanence of the icon is linked to a problem with the user account or if it's a question broad system. The articles below will guide you through these steps.

How to test a question in another account on your Mac.

Try safe mode if your Mac does not end commissioning

If the ghost still occurs in safe mode, then we know it is a question broad system and I would recommend backup your Mac and Mac OS re-install using recovery, as described in the articles below:

  • Switch to a different space drives me crazy

I'll have a big problem with several spaces and OS X switch automatically between them. I disabled the option in system preferences to switch automatically to a space with open windows when switching to an application, but this option do not what it is supposed to do. I installed several areas dedicated to different tasks/projects. Thus, some space might be devoted to programming of work for a particular client, another space to teach, etc.. Now let's say I need a Safari window to search for documentation in the customer area where I am currently working in Eclipse. I want command + tab to Safari AND STAY in THE SAME SPACE! But the operating system decides to spend the 'Teaching' space where a Safari window is open. Using a keyboard shortcut to return to the client area, the operating system active again the old application (e.g., Eclipse). Using command + tab again now brings Safari to the front WITHOUT SWITCHING SPACE! And the behavior is completely different when Safari was hidden before or not (command-h). This morning, I was in my "General work" space, mail forward, a Safari window open in the back (Safari NOT hidden!). I clicked on a link in an email and a new windows Safari open in a DIFFERENT SPACE. The madness continues and is not related to Safari. It happens with all applications. Just today, I command-tab for BBEdit, which has no window open in space, but in other areas. And that's no switch space occurs. I use the command + o to open a file dialog box, but then decide to cancel it. NOW, A SWITCH OF SPACE THAT'S HAPPENED!

What the * is going on here? * I * want to switch spaces, nothing and no one else should do!

Reflection on the installation of spaces of others always gives me a headache.

In system preferences > windows by verified application group? If so, uncheck it. Also: when you click and hold the icon of Safari in the Dock, in the Options section, you should see options to assign Safari all the desktop, your particular desktop or None. Select the latter.

  • Cannot switch the language layout with wireless keyboard

I do a sort of a media center for my mac mini. So far, everything is great, except for one very annoying thing. I bought this wireless keyboard and it's working great, although there is a problem with the layout language switch. When I change the input language - it is off, according to the change of language icon, if a text input is always in English. I'm quite confused and don't know if it's related to the keyboard itself or it's a question of OS (same behavior was on yosemite, before I've upgraded to el capitan)

    Any help is greatly appreciated!

Are you talking about the little flag in the menu bar? This has nothing to do with the language itself, it has to do with keyboard layouts. Any reason you need to switch the layouts?

If you want to change the language of the menus and other system, then you must go to

System-> region and language preferences, then change the order of the languages.
