L300 Satellite A100 keyboard

Hello.
I want to buy the new keyboard of my Toshiba Satellite A100-529. I have a question: * can I use my Toshiba A100 Toshiba Satellite L300 keyboard? *
I saw L300 keyboard and it is same as my (I have keyboard ALT - GR - same size and same location) but I do not know this connector (keyboard to the motherboard) are the same.

Thanks for any response.
Greetings.

Hello

That s is really hard to say. Maybe the keyboards are cell specific and don t work in other models.

I think that, for this question, you should contact the service provider authorized in your country. The technician can compare part numbers and tell you if the other keyboard will work also in your laptop. Just call them, it will take only a few minutes, I think that ;)

After that, you can post the answer. This would be interesting.

  • Satellite A100 - keyboard and Touchpad are not working

    Hello

Toshiba Satellite Pro A100 to my daughter has developed a few flaws.

First of all, the keyboard displays random characters like a stuck key. for example, if Google or Wordpad will be randomly type a single character over and over again even when no key is pressed. Sometimes it will also open windows or programs as sank the "enter" key, or scroll through the icons on the desktop.

Second, the touchpad is inadmissible and cursor operation is not possible since the touchpad or buttons. I don't know if the two are related.

She assures me that she has not spilled anything on the laptop, so any help would be appreciated to correct these mistakes.

    Thank you

    Hello

Can you notice the same problem with external input devices?

Otherwise it s time for a service provider allowed. I think the keyboard and the touchpad should be replaced and the technicians can help you.

On the Toshiba site, you can find a list of authorized service provider.

    Good luck! :)

  • Satellite A100: keyboard change - can I do it myself?

Hi, just bought a satellite a book of notes-100 and at the same time ordered a QWERTY keyboard. Once I get it, I can install it on my mobile me or what I consider a dealer?
    Thank you

It's the right question. Theoretically, you can do it alone but it is possible that the warranty will be voided, and in my opinion, it's too risky.

I don't know how it is on the keyboard, but a few screws have a special type of tint on the screws and he brake if you try to remove the screw. Subsequently if you bring the laptop to the service they'll know you tried to open the only unit and the warranty is gone.

Next important thing you need to know exactly how to remove the plastic above the keyboard. This plastic cover may be damaged by accident, and then you have just more problems.

Keyboard Exchange service don t need more than 20 minutes and I think that it is better to visit service and let the technician to do it for you.

  • Re: Satellite A100-083 - letters keyboard automatically

    Hello

I work with a Satellite A100-083, Windows XP SP2. Since about a month ago following problem appears from time to time:
While typing in my browser or e-mail program (both are by Mozilla) my computer types, the letters "ITU" turns on the capslock and opens new browser windows (on: white, which is my startpage config.).

Of course, this sounds like having a virus, a Trojan or sth. like this, but after running a few different antispyware and antivirus software, without solving the problem and these days without finding infected files. I tried to find something about a Trojan horse that acts like this in the internet - some subjects having the problem without solutions or set the Trojan horse (if it is one). Beside that the problem is not there all the time. Sometimes, it does not for about 2 days and go back after that.

Now I wonder if she could be affected by another source.

    Any ideas or similar cases?

    Thank you.

    Hi unfun.

I put t think it is a virus problem. Why a virus is expected to cause such an action?

At the moment for me, it sounds like a malfunction of the keyboard and recommend test another keyboard (external). So you can check if the problem is software related or not. You can use a USB of your desktop keyboard to do this.

  • Install the new keyboard in Satellite A100 laptop computer

Recently, we have removed the keyboard on my laptop Toshiba Satellite A100 to clean as some of the keys were sticking.

After you find the instructions to do this, it was easy enough to remove. Rinse us the keyboard with clear water and made sure that it is completely dry before reinstalling it.
Now only some keys work about 3 on each line on the right side. Fortunately, enough to have another exact keyboard of an older A70, we have tried to install this one in the place and the same thing, only a few keys on the right side of work.

We hung a desktop mouse and wireless keyboard and all the keys work fine. No idea why will work only a few keys with two keyboards of laptpp and how do I fix this? Thank you

    Hello

I m not very well why some keyboard keys work and some don't work properly but if the flat cable that connects the keyboard and the jury has been plugged in properly then you can see this question as if the cable is loose, then you will notice the same problems

If you are sure that the keyboard and cable are correct, there is a great chance that the malfunction of the card system to 100%

  • Satellite A100-924: shortcuts keyboard driver for Win 7 required

    Hello

I installed Windows Vista on my Pc Satellite A100-924, where can I find drivers for the keyboard shortcuts?
On the Toshiba site, I find only those from XP, but... on my PC that I bought 3 years ago, there is a sticker on the box that says that this computer is Windows Vista capable.

Is possible that Toshiba has not released a driver that works with Vista?

Thanks in advance to all the... Max

    Hello

There is no such utility for Vista!
You need another tool. It is called; Value Added Package

This package contains tools and utilities that are necessary to obtain the additional functions for working laptop.

  • Re: Satellite A100-638 has a stuck key even when I unplug the keyboard.

I have a Satellite A100-638 with a stuck tab button, up to now, I got around the problem by using a USB keyboard and keytweaking program.

Unfortunately recently I got problems of coherence on the disk. I installed Win XP on and I can't do a consistency check due to the cancellation scans if no key is pressed. I tried to unplug the keyboard of the laptop motherboard, I think I made the success, but the Tab key always records as being pressed.

The USB keyboard is fine and has no problem whatsoever.

If someone could help, I'd appreciate it.

Looks like the keyboard on the motherboard controller may be defective.

Are you sure this isn't a driver/software problem? Have you recently installed a USB mouse?

  • Re: After upgrade on Satellite A100 BIOS cannot use keyboard more

Need help... after bios upgrade for Toshiba Satellite A100 my keyboard error... now I can't use my keyboard...
If I used the external keyboard, as there not enough power into the USB...
Now, how come back to start bios version...

    Thank you or any medium

    Hello

Enter the BIOS (by pressing F2 at startup) and try to check in the Bios if compatible keyboard, legacy usb support (something like that) is enabled. It should help.
Otherwise, playing with the up/downgrade Bios (especially, demote) instead of keyboard problem, can cause the crash of the complete system with white screen.

  • Satellite A100-003: Questions on keyboard

    Two questions:

    1. What is the product of my keyboard type and computers laptop Toshiba have the same?

    2. can I have my extra keyboard buttons in a Linux system? (Ubuntu 7.10 Gutsy Gibbon)

    (1) the satellite A100 was equipped with a keyboard that supports 86 keys; 2 Windows keys and 1 shortcut key.
Seems that the A100 series was equipped with this keyboard

    (2) I assume you mean the keys FN and Toshiba control buttons.
Well, if you want to use these buttons, you will need a compatible driver from Toshiba.
The fact is that Toshiba doesn't support Linux and doesn't provide drivers for Linux distribution. This is why you will not be able to use these keys running Linux.

    Good bye

  • Keyboard Satellite A100-906 after spilled drink

    Hello

I am owner of a Satellite A100-906 and I spilled liquid on the keyboard.
As I read on the official website of the product, the keyboard is the spill-resistant.
If I have understood correctly, the keyboard is covered by the warranty in case of spilled liquid.
    Is this fair?

    Thanks in advance,

    Maria

    Hello

I think you had something misunderstanded:

The keyboard is resistant to the spill, but that doesn´t means that it keeps water away from the machine. After checking Asian toshiba website, I found the following description:

    "A keyboard resistant splashes that increase the protection of the system by providing users with enough time to save their work and shut down the system in the case of a spill;

That means the keyboard prevents only the liquids to invade quickly into the machine, but that doesn´t means that the keyboard is covered by the warranty after any spillage of liquids on your machine.

    Welcome them

P.s.: That all means you will be charged for repair...

  • Satellite A110 keyboard and battery - if it was in / work with A100?

Hello, thank you for taking the time to read my post. I have a toshiba satellite a100 laptop, the keyboard is damaged and the battery no longer works. I just found access to a toshiba satellite a110, which is not as high in the specs, so I wonder...

-Keyboard toshiba satellite a110 works and adapt if it is placed in the a100?

-Toshiba satellite a110 battery works and adapt if it is placed in the a100?

If someone could tell me that I would be very happy.

    Thanks again for your time

    Hello

I think the keyboard could be compatible, but I doubt the battery designed for Sat A110 would be compatible with the model A100.

As far as I know the Satellite A100 supports the 9 cell, 6000mAh
    PA3478U-1BRS or 12 PA3400U-1BRS battery and the A110 supports PA3457U-1BRS Battery Pack Li-ion (4300mAh, 8 cells)

  • A keyboard button broke on the Satellite A100-906

    Hi guys,.

A few days ago, I bought Satellite a100-906. As soon I got home, I found a keyboard button (the cap of the inner part) is broken (the letter M).
Is it possible to order the keyboard keys separately or only the full keyboard?

My local dealer said only a full keyboard is available, but its just funny, I should buy a new a keyboard cover of a letter.

Usually if the button mechanism is broken the whole keyboard needs to be replaced, but if only the CAP is bad, it should be possible to order the single keyboard key caps.
The removal of the keys is not very delicate. Just go under the key with the nail CAP and remove the cap of key.

But I assumed that the guarantee is valid so the service partner should do it for free.
