Re: After upgrade on Satellite A100 BIOS cannot use keyboard more

Need help... after bios upgrade for Toshiba Satellite A100 my keyboard error... now I can't use my keyboard...
If I used the external keyboard, as there not enough power into the USB...
Now, how come back to start bios version...

Thank you or any medium

Hello

Enter the BIOS (by pressing F2 at startup) and try to check in the Bios if compatible keyboard, legacy usb support (something like that) is enabled. It should help.
Otherwise, playing with the up/downgrade Bios (especially, demote) instead of keyboard problem, can cause the crash of the complete system with white screen.

    Hello

my laptop Satellite A100 (PSAA8) cannot run most games like call of duty... I wonder if I can get a more powerful vga card and install it. Is this possible? And what I can get to the Middle East (Egypt).

Other improvements I need to increase its performance?

    Hello

Unfortunately the video card cannot be improved. Only you can do is upgrade RAM, optimize the preinstalled operating system and play games that need power of video not so much.

Also try to play games with video settings below. Sorry, but that's all I can say about it.

  • Satellite A100 PSAA8E: Cannot boot from USB after Bios Update

    Hello

I downloaded the latest bios (v6) for my satellite a100 (psaa8e) and after the update of the old bios, I noticed that I can not boot from USB. Is there a way to restore the old bios or will this problem solved?

    See you soon

And before you can update the BIOS you were able to start the bootable CD from the external optical drive USB drive facilities?

To be honest I really don't believe it. Try to connect USB FDD and you will see that the FDD is recognized and you will be able to use it as first boot device.

  • Satellite A100 - BIOS and Windows does not start after the BIOS update

Hello, I extend my Satellite A100 laptop BIOS.

After update, I can't start my laptop and the BIOS will not start.

    You see the Toshiba logo?

Was there a power failure when you updated the BIOS?

Try to remove the battery and the adapter and leave for a few hours. You can also try reinstalling the RAM.

If this does not help, you will need to send it to a Service Center for repair.

  • Satellite A100-991 - cannot boot from USB device

My Satellite A100-991 (MS Windows XP MCE, SP3) does not start from a USB key or USB hard drive. The same USB devices are bootable if they are connected to a desktop computer or a laptop from other manufacturers. I put the USB as the first boot device and use an image "Bart PE" on my USB device.

In fact, I have installed 2.10 Phoenix Bios version and I wonder if I could update the BIOS by using the 'sa105v21.exe' program and that this would resolve the startup problem.

    Hello

Have you tested different USB keys? I think that your current USB key is not compatible
Also test the USB to different USB ports. A port may be defective for the computer to start t with him.

Theoretically, you can try upgrading the BIOS but don t forget s a bit more risky and it should be the last step.
Prior to this, load default settings in the BIOS and check if you can boot from USB.

  • Satellite A100 BIOS update - BAD CHECKSUM

I've just updated my BIOS to version 6.0 that TOSHIBA said > 26/11/07 "this Bios update adds functionality to your system: Satellite A100 Toshiba 6, 00 - WIN (PSAAN).»

    My original BIOS was 5.9
My computer works fine A100-33 but when my computer restarts, showed it to the BLACK screen.

I noticed that it displays BAD CHECKSUM and suugested I select default BIOS but I * ignored this advice * that wanted this new Version of the BIOS.

What means BAD CHECKSUM and what effects will have on my computer peformance please if any?

Under the system information that is displayed for my BIOS Version/Date Phoenix Technologies LTD 6.00, 07/12/2007

Name of the Microsoft OS? ® Windows Vista Home Basic

    Hello

Don t worry if the message "bad checksum" will appear only once.

'Bad checksum' means that the BIOS has been changed, rewritten or settings have been restored by default. Thus, whenever you save your bios settings, bios made a "checksum" to check the next time you start the settings were stored and all goes well. If something is wrong or has been changed, then the checksum stored since the last save a Don t match real new generated checksum.

So if you make an update of the bios, all your settings will be modified logic - you get an error "Bad Checksum".

Another reason for such "Bad Checksum" is an empty BIOS stack or a malfunction, so BIOS cannot keep it s settings and you will get every time you start the computer a message "Bad Checksum".

    Hello

  • Problem upgrading to Satellite A100-011 (PSAARE) RAM

    I have the Satellite A100 - 011 (PSAARE) and I just upgraded memory RAM of 4 GB 2x2gb Kingston (KTT533D2 / 2G).
BIOS can see all my 4 GB installed, so my windows (x 64) but my task manager shows me 3069 Mo!
How is that possible? Is it possible to fix this? My BIOS version is 6,00.

    Thank you!

    Hello!

Are you sure that you have a 64-bit version of Windows XP?
I ask this question because the Web from Toshiba website does no drivers for Windows XP 64-bit.

If you really have a 64 bit OS make sure that you have installed all Service Packs and patches from Microsoft.

And install a program such as Everest and watch this program shows the amount of RAM.

    Good bye

  • Satellite A100 - BIOS flash not finished

My PC is a Satellite A100 PSAANE and after updating the BIOS an error pops up and flash not finished...
I stop the PC and when I started it don t start

How do I get back the original BIOS or how kan I do a new update of the BIOS via USB or CD?

If the BIOS update was not properly finished, I fear you have real problem now and authorized service provider can help with this.
I guess that you do not start your laptop. Am I right about that?

Sorry but there is nothing that you can do it alone. Traditional BIOS update (diskette) doesn't exist for this model of laptop. Sorry :(

  • Re: Satellite A100-410 cannot start Windows XP

    Hello

I have a Satellite A100-410 and I can't start over (in safe mode ok). When starting, it shows the XP screen and after 10 seconds, the screen goes black. We have re-installed XP but no use. We checked again and assume that something is wrong with the video card drivers.

So we checked for the last but no use. I can boot the laptop when the video card is uninstalled, so it takes to cause something weird.
Or could it be that the card is broken?

    Hello.

For sure your video card is ok, otherwise you may see white screen after switching on. The problem is in the driver problem. Have you downloaded the Toshiba site display driver?
Maybe there is a conflict of driver. This site http://downloads.guru3d.com/downloadget.php?id=1655&file=7&evp=c14f9f3787877ee f9ef4b235b9146e96 stage
Download and install. Then try to reinstall the display driver (if not work, do it in safe mode).

If she's not always you help, do a search for a new iso Windows Xp but not Windows assembly (some guys like to change windows, deleting and adding some files, and then load it. Most of these modified versions are bad).

That's all I can suggest now, sorry if does not work.

    Welcome them

  • Satellite A100-294: cannot change the built-in RAM module?

The integrated RAM (512 MB) of my Satellite module problems (based on memtest86) and the machine was freezing all the time. It is under warranty, so I got to the store I bought.

They told me that they send the machine to Toshiba AC because it will probably be a new mainboard to correct the problem, since the DIMM is permanently attached to the Board and cannot be changed as all the regular module DIMM.

Is this true? Is the 512 MB of RAM the machine is supplied with, physically inseparable from the motherboard?

    Hello

As much as I know doses Satellite A100-294 does not in charge of the internal memory!
The unit simply uses the memory DDR2-533 modules that are removable.
The memory location is placed at the bottom of the unit and it s easy to reach.

But maybe the head technicians would like to take a look at this motherboard and therefore the ASP had to send this book to the Toshiba headquarters

  • Satellite A100 (PSAA9E) - Cannot install the display driver for Windows 7

    I have a problem with installing official Toshiba Windows 7 x 32 ATI x 1600 driver.

After unpacking it should run install.exe, I think, but it's not; nothing happens. Go on the Setup.exe with installation manual, then I see no Catalyst Control Center & Display Driver from the list, just the catalyst install Manager & vcredist. After installing these components (CCC & DD) are not present.

    Any ideas?

P.S. Same problem with the official driver of Toshiba Vista32 ATI x 1600.

    Hi mate,

You have already installed other drivers for the laptop? I mean the chipset driver, this driver must be installed first.
And are you sure that you have ATI display driver? Some Satellite A100 models were shipped with the nVidia graphics card, AFAIK.

Moreover, what happens if you install driver manual in device via advanced installation manager?

  • Memeroy upgrade in Satellite A100 - 529 does not work

I am trying to upgrade memory on my Satellite A100-529 (PSAA2E). The system comes standard with DDR2 PC2-4200 1x512mo. I installed 2x512MB DDR2 PC2 5300 and the system tries to turn 5 x without success.

All the documentation said that RAM DDR is backward compatible. The A100-529 will take only PC2 - 4200?

    I found this page useful:
    [Memory for Toshiba Satellite A100-529 | http://www.orcalogic.co.uk/asp/prodtype.asp?prodtype=23657&ft=m&st=3]

According to the details of the memory, it must use the DDR2 533 MHz (PC2-4200) 200-PIN SODIMM memory modules!

Using other modules you notebook primer not correctly or will not run stable!
