LabView 5.0.1F1 SE + DAQPad-1200

Hello

I recently got a DAQPad-1200 and a copy of LabVIEW 5.0.1F1 SE EE Department at my University were throw and try to use them on a Windows 2000 computer with the drivers of NOR-DAQ 6.9.3.  However, whenever I try to make any kind of data acquisition functions, the VI indicates that call library functions are not supported in the student version.  I was under the impression that student versions were able to interface with the data acquisition equipment, and it was other features that have been disabled.  I simply mistaken, or is there another error in the software that would allow me to fix?  I know that I am asking for help with obsolete equipment and software, but any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hello sschutta,

Thanks for your message and questions about hardware DAQ and LabVIEW.

I see you have a DAQPad-1200 you use. Is the error you see referring a call library node or dll function call? The reason I ask is because this is not supported in the student version and could be the cause of your error. Take a look at the knowledge base which speaks of this error:

Problems with screws OR DAQ and LabVIEW Student Edition

Also, it seems that the version of LabVIEW you have is not compatible with the DAQPad 1200. See the link below for a list of supported devices:

Which DAQ cards are supported when using LabVIEW Student Edition?

Let me know if this clears up any questions or concerns about the use of your DAQ hardware! Also do you need to talk to someone about getting some new equipment for your University? Let us know and have a nice day sschutta.

See you soon!

  • Why is a different flat variant in 2012 of LabVIEW and LabVIEW 2011?

    When I flatten a variant of this way in 2012 of LabVIEW, the hexagon I get is 1200 8004 0000 0001 0004 0000 0001 0000 0000 0000.  When I do in 2011, it's 1100 8008 0000 0001 0004 0000 0001 0000 0000 0000.

    Why the difference?

I'm having a flattened cluster that contains a variance between executables in two different versions of LabVIEW by using TCP and I get an error on the unflatten of the chain.

This behavior is by design. Now, we include the version number in the flattened chain so that we can change/add to the representation in the future, and new versions of LabVIEW will be always able to read flattened strings that have been flattened in the past.

If you want to flatten a Variant to an older version of LabVIEW, you can use \Utility\VariantFlattenExp.vi.  It must be a version number under hexagonal - to flatten for the 2011 version, you used above, switch to 11008008 in hexadecimal.  If you group for this version, it will be able to be read by versions 2011, 2012, and all future.

  • Bug? Right-click on the marquee in front causes!

Posted on LAVA: http://lavag.org/topic/12097-right-click-on-front-panel-causes-selection-rectangle/. This message contains an update of the problem description.

Whenever I do a right-click on a control in the FP and dismiss the context menu, I get a selection rectangle. If I catch him, moving outside the limits of the FP will cause the FP to scroll to continue my Junk 'selection'. This has been so far repeatable every time.

I noticed that the problem is not happening on the controls palette, only the context menu for controls. Also, if I right-click the context menu before dismissing, the problem will not occur. If I select an item from the context menu (which also rejects), the problem does not occur.

I'm under LabVIEW 8.6.1f1 on Windows XP Home SP3.

On my main machine, I have been unable to recreate this behavior that got us wondering.  Then it happened to me, I modified the file ini on this computer.  In particular, one of the things that bothers me is trend of the LV to clicks in the windows in the background under tension.  Normally I click to activate, and then click Next.  For some time I have (and more often other users) would not always look where this first click went.  To disable it, I went to the LabVIEW.ini file and added the following key:

    dropThroughClicks = FALSE

This stops the live by clicking on and seems to significantly reduce the appearance of this bug.  Your mileage may vary, but I still have to get the selection when this key is set.

now (and it's in 2009 and 8.6) when I right click on the function palette and the palette of control opened on the Express; for years I've been opening to programming functions and control at the modern. But I can't change - going advanced > change a set Palette opens the dialog box, indicates the current value of Palette is the Local host, but 2 pallet sets are immutable and the button is grayed. is there some priveledge that I put? Seems I've done this before (way back when) what has changed?

I think what you might be willing to do you find first, pinning a palette

  • Unexplained error with custom events

    LabVIEW 8.6.1f1, Win Vista

I have an error an once-in-a-blue-moon in my program, I need to track down.

I have it boiled down to a simple test case, where the error occurs more frequently (but still relatively rarely).

I have a program called MERS, which is separated from my main code HDT.

TCM can run on a separate machine, but for this test, it is on the same machine, running under the development of LV system.

This test simply opens a TCP connection to the TCM, calls for a "signature", it receives and stop the connection.

The part that opens the connection starts also the TCM RECEIVER running, and kill the connection stops this receiver.

Here's the code for the main event, and you can see that I get an error apparently because I get no response in MS 2000:

    ---------

The code to GET the SIGNATURE of TCM is here: what it does is to send a request for the signature and then waiting for an event SIGNATURE RECEIVED by the RECEIVER, or a timeout 2000 mSec.

The error that I get (-100005) comes from there.  If the TCM has failed to respond, it would look like this.  Indeed, this is why the timeouot trap is here.

    -----------

However, here is the code of the receiver and the Panel, immediately after a failure.

It is clear from the TABLE that he received the SIGNATURE of TCM TCM.

There are NO orders in the table indicates that the receiver was still running for 2000 mSec (4 x 500 mSec) after receipt of the order.

When it receives a SIGNATURE, the code written will trigger an event.  No errors are reported here.

So what's happening?  It seems that the event should be raised, but it is not received (Event #0 in photo #2 reacts to the event and returns the word signature, without error).

This happens not all the time - this case is broken loop # 211 - this number is between 20 and 2000.

With all those open windows in fact do more often: without them always fails, but she performs thousands of do loops.

So perhaps it is related to the CPU bustle.

I checked that there is no error with the function SAVE of EVENTS, even when it fails.

I come back to the fact that the PICTURE in photo #3 says that the signature was received, but it seems that the EVENT did not get generated or received.

    What are the causes that?

Is it possible that, since the receiver is dynamically loaded and run, that things are not really created and ready when he says they are?

OK, that seems to have fixed. -He managed 5000 loops, with the windows open and no failure.

How completely obvious it sounds, when I put it in words:

Don't ask a question until you are ready to hear the answer.

The revised registers for events and THEN asks for the signature.

So, when the answer comes, even if it is immediately, you're ready.

Don't ask a question until you are ready to hear the answer.

Don't ask a question until you are ready to hear the answer.

Don't ask a question until you are ready to hear the answer.

  • Use the DAQCard 1200 with LabVIEW 2009 map

Hi, I have a DAQCard 1200 and LabVIEW 2009 card. Can I use this device with this version of Labview? Is there anyway to make it work? Thank you.

    Hello ACTS,

There is a difference betweenmx and traditionalDAQ DAQ!

Installation of NI - DAQ6.9.3 is ok as outlined in this KB entry link above.

But: you will find all of the DAQmx like this "DAQ Assistant" features! (Btw. why you insist on the use of ExpressVIs?)

You must use the TraditionalDAQ functions instead. (There should be a few examples too...)

Yes, DAQmx does not support your DAQCard1200. But TraditionalDAQ6.9.3 will do...

  • Installed 8.6.1f1 Patch - LabVIEW has now "no license available".

I just installed the Patch - 8.6.1f1 and now LabVIEW refuses to start.  I had a look in the License Manager and the key is there, but when I try to launch LabVIEW, it is listed as "no license available".

    Thanks for the reply Ajmal,

I installed the patch on top a copy of 8.6.1 I've used for several months, he was certainly properly registered before the patch.  According to the Manager of licenses, it was still registered with no expiration date!

In any case, I've fixed since my installation, and he now works again.  I don't know if the patch installed correctly now however; It seems unlikely

  • OR DAQPad 6020e in labview 8.5

I have several Pad DAQ 6020e of from a University program. I have them work on a system of Labview 7, but when I upgraded to 8.5 they are not recognized.

I installed the traditional legacy drivers and I can perform to the MAX test panel and that it can work. How can I go to MAX for their use in a vi. ?

    Hey Brjasc,

Hardware drivers DAQ traditional default go only to install in one version of LabVIEW, so it is possible that you do not see the traditional DAQ hardware drivers in version 8.5.  To see what version of LabVIEW installed on the traditional hardware drivers DAQ, go to C:\Program NIUninstaller Instruments\LabVIEW x.x\vi.lib and see if there is a folder named "Daq".  My guess is that the data file is installed for LabVIEW 7, but not in LabVIEW 8.5.  Once find you what version of LabVIEW, this folder does not appear in, open this version, see the block diagram and then do a right click to view the range of functions. Go to IO measures and traditional DAQ then.  To install traditional DAQ in several versions of LabVIEW, visit ni.com and search for traditional DAQ Palette does not appear after the LabVIEW upgrade.

  • question on locking of LabVIEW amplifier design

    Hi all

I use myDAQ with the NI DAQPad-6259 pinout for the input signal measurement. and I want to build an amplifier to lock by labview to measure the input signal. • PCI 1200

    Hello

In my factory, I found an old PCI - 1200 DAQ board. I want to use it to control a stepper motor.

Can I use it with the evaluation version of Labview 2012?

Where can I get the drivers for this card?

I found that the drivers are available for labview 6 and the acquisition of data 6.9.3, if it is true, that the jury is obsolete?

    Concerning

    http://digital.NI.com/public.nsf/allkb/B0D5630C0A50D5C6862578E800459248

According to the graph, you need LabVIEW 6.0 or 6.1 use version 6.9.3.  So yes, this is regarded as a riser that is not supported by the current version of LabVIEW.
