Hi, we managed to set up an Oracle dblink to sql server and retrieve data.

The user of sql server have been using via dblink has access to multiple databases on the same sql server

But the question is how in oracle (if possible) prepend you the SQL access to this?

    For example:

Sqlserver_prod has the user sqlserver_user which seems to be set up as default database sqlserver_db1

But we have select access to sqlserver_db2

    all work well as sqlserver_user

    Select * from table_fromdb1

    Select * from dbo.table_fromdb1

    Select * from sqlserver_db1.dbo.table_fromdb1

    as does

    Select * from sqlserver_db2.dbo.table_fromdb2

    more in Oracle

    Oracle_db a dblink sqlserver_prod. World connection sqlserver_user

    everything works fine

    Select * from 'table_fromdb1"@sqlserver_prod '.

    Select * from 'dbo '. "table_fromdb1"@sqlserver_prod

But how to (if possible) access from oracle

    sqlserver_db2.dbo.table_fromdb2

without having to create a new sqlserver_db2_user referenced in a new dblink

If oracle for oracle would be

    Select * from remote_oracle_schema.table@remote_oracle_db

  • Migartion SQL Server 2008 database 11 GR 2 database

    Hi Expert,

At the moment I am using SQL Server 2008R2 database and I want to migrate the Oracle Server 11 GR 2, what stage will be suitable for me, someone suggest me?

    Kind regards

    Moin

I, ve successfully because the migration of MS Server2008R2 of Oracle database 11 g 2.

    1. install the JDBC driver 3d for MS SQL Server (jtds - 1.2 in our case) and save it in SQL Developer.

    2. to ensure that we are able to connect to SQL Server DB (you have the IP address, the name of DB and credentials).

    3. in SQL Developer 3.2.2 go to tools/Migration and select "Create Database capture Scripts".

    4. Select SQL Server 2008 in the drop-down list and set the scripts directory.

5 run it, it will create two *. BAT files in the selected directory.

    5. go to this directory and run the OMWB_OFFLINE_CAPTURE. BAT script like:

-To run this script, enter the following command at the prompt.

    ----

    -OMWB_OFFLINE_CAPTURE login_id server_name database_name password

    -where,

-login_id is a login id that has been granted db_datareader

    - and look up the definition on database_name

-password is the password for the login id

-database_name is the name of the database you want to capture

-servername is the name of the server on which lies the database

    -For example,.

    -OMWB_OFFLINE_CAPTURE his employeeDB DEPT1_SERVER sapwd

This script uses the bcp.exe utility to export the metadata and data from the DB in SQL SERVER specified in the sqlserver2008.ocp file.

When it's done, you're ready for offline migration.

    6. in SQL Developer, go to tools/Migration/Migrate, follow the instructions in the wizard, select Migration offline and use the generated file sqlserver2008.ocp.

There are break settings that you can change the options and control the output of the process. The Migration process will generate one or more files for Oracle SQL.

    7. run the scripts generated against your Oracle DB.

    8. it's her.

  • Install Oracle GoldenGate Linux to synchronize two schemas from database on a single server

    Hi all

I have to synchronize two schemas from database (Oracle 12 c) in a single host RedHat Linux to demonstrate and understand the use of OGG V12.1.2.1.0. I try to do. But it's complicated and confused me because I am new to Oracle and Linux. I followed this tutorial ( install Oracle GoldenGate for Oracle 12.1.2 on CentOS/6.x to 6.x/RHEL Linux 6.x EL ). But it is difficult to understand how I can match with two diagrams of database on a single server.

And I found this tutorial (Oracle GoldenGate on Linux: two-way replication of Oracle 11 GR 2 to Oracle 11 g 2). He said: "" If you have that one host, it may be useful to change the /etc/hosts file to create aliases forhost01.example.com and host02.example.com.". What it really means?

The other seems to be useful. But it's totally different from 1. Is that this will help my job since I use 12 c Oracle Server?

Can I get some tips to continue my task?

    Here's another tutorial - http://www.oracle.com/webfolder/technetwork/tutorials/obe/fmw/goldengate/12c/OGG12c_Integrated_Replicat/index.html

It has everything set up on a single Linux host.

  • Synchronize two schemas from database on a linux server using Oracle GoldenGate

I followed this guide ( http://www.oracle.com/webfolder/technetwork/tutorials/obe/fmw/goldengate/12c/OGG12c_Installation/index.html?cid=9167 & ssid = 0 ) and for two different databases running on the same instance of database schemas.

What I have now is a Linux server with two Oracle database schemas.
I have access through my Linux virtual machine. I want to do the synchronization possible between them.

I use Oracle GoldenGate to make this possible. What should I do now? Goldengate is must be installed in the server too? I'm totally new to this situation. Can someone give me at least the major steps before going to the more comprehensive study?

    Well understood. This helped.

  • Unable to display data from database using persistence mobile A-team

    Hello

We use the accelerator of persistence for Mobile A-team with application of the MAF. We built the REST services based for CRUD operations on a table. We are unable to use the POST CREATE service by application of the MAF. We tried using saveTask and addTask data control methods it generates automatically. Although it is saved locally to the iterator of data control, it doesn't push the data from database. We tried to test the service REMAINS independent and works well.

Can anyone help regarding if lack us measures in the same?

    Thank you

    Vignesh

    Vignesh,

Indeed, there are two issues here:

-the attributes of the payload are different

-the structure of the payload is different, the GET request has an attribute "Task" that returns an array, the POST request submitting a single object through the attribute "taskDetails.

By default, the accelerator of persistence assumes that the POST request has the same payload structure and attributes as the GET request that you used to 'discover' the data objects.

However, you can easily change this as follows:

-To add additional attributes required in the POST, you should restart the wizard REST-JSON directly access the data object attributes screen and click on the button 'add an attribute '. Add each attribute you need in the POST request and the attribute name to the value required in the POST request payload. No matter that this attribute of the payload does not exist in the payload GET, it will be ignored during extraction of the tasks.

-To fix the second issue, you must change the persistence - mapping.xml:

    -go to the createMethod task

    -Remove the payloadElementName attribute

-Add the payloadRowElementName attribute and set the value to "TaskDetails.

It's a little strange that you post in order to get other attributes, it is there another resource GET that returns all attributes for a task?

In addition, you cannot derive columns audit as created_by on the server-side? It's a bit unusual set these values at the level of the customer.

My question is why nvl function varies from char to varchar2 data type?
Same case expression does not change the data type.
I insist that this is a bug of function nvl isn't - it.

If expr1 is character data, then Oracle Database converts expr2 to the data type of expr1
before comparing them and returns VARCHAR2 in the character set of expr1.

  • All the songs that I have purchased from i-tunes stops playing before the end of the song. The time varies from song to song.

I only bought individual songs (singles for the most part) to I-tunes. But on EVERY song that I bought it goes silent after awhile. The song still plays, but he is silent. The time varies from song to song, sometimes it goes silent a few minutes before the end, sometimes it's 30 seconds. It is different from song to song. At the end of the song/silence he plays very well the next track. Unless it's a song I bought. This has only started recently. Each song or track that I downloaded from my own record collection is very good! Is the path of the Apple to get more money?

I would be grateful for any ideas how to solve this problem.

  • How to reference a global non-statique Timer var from a static context

Hello. I need to have a single world clock for my application, which can be canceled and re-scheduled for a different date, to within a few static methods in the application.

I confess that I do not understand how the static. I'm now declaring my Timer as static at the class level (so it could be accessed from static methods), but it does not seem to keeps its value and is null when it should have a value. To be exact, I set my Timer = new Timer() variable of in a method static and annex, then return to cancel it and reschedule, only to find the timer variable is null.

What I want is to have a single global Timer, so some code runs when it gets to zero (I don't want to declare a local var Timer in my calendar and static methods because then I would have several timers). And I want to cancel the account countdown and the reporter at will. (There is an another Timer for another purpose, but I want just a thin Reset).

I noticed that my level variable class static Timer (I thought that a timer could not be static) could be assigned to = new Timer() - it compiled correctly. My limited understanding is that static variables contain no instance, so I'm struggling with this. Reading, I think that in a static context, you cannot reference non static var because Java does not know which instance of the object you want.

I found that if you want to access a non static var from a static context, you must first instantiate the class container and say classname.globalvar in the static context. Problem is when I tried that I found that I already had an instance of the application running, as I instantiated my UIApp in main() just before I entereventdispatcher - so an exception has been thrown. My application was created using JDE 4.6 and it's a UIApplication.

How do you have a class-level Timer, referenced from a few static methods, cancelled and postponed? Or I go about it the wrong way? Never appreciated as ideas.

    Justin.

@icefrost1.  We could discuss on this point, but since the Original Post, I think that the simplest solution is to use a Singleton.

But in fact, we must be clear on what is actually the Singleton.  In this case, I have this code so that the Singleton contains a reference to a timer, i.e., it is not the timer itself.  The process may update the reference to the timer, so that any other treatment sees the update timer.  At least that's how I'd do.
