Laptop 7100 protected prevents Cup.

Hello
I have an old laptop 7100 protégé. If I watch a DVD on the computer with the battery and not the outlet, after about 10 minutes, the laptop to cancel just like it is running out of power. If I turn it on again, I can watch the DVD for about 3 minutes and the same thing happens. The large external battery is new. When he cut, I restart and check how much battery life is still, and he told me that the battery has completely discharged. This will not occur when you use the socket.

I was wondering if the laptop had another smaller farm who was dead (because it's so old) and which is making its performance. If I use the laptop for word processing or other things no taxation, machine there is fine (until the battery runs down completely).

I don't know much about computers, so any help would be very useful.

Thank you
Adam

Hello

The Toshiba power saver uses different modes of consumption. If you play the DVD without the main power of the unit uses a different power with different settings mode.
You sounds description as a standby or hibernation mode.
In my opinion, you should check the settings and possibly disable time to standby mode and Hibernate mode.

  • Laptop password protection

I use Windows XP Pro - how do I password protect my laptop using an "encrypted password"?

Hardware encryption is safer? Where can I get information on this subject?

Yes, much more.  With the help of the TPM secure (TPM) depends on the encryption on a unique encryption which is burned in the TPM chip key, no two chips have the same key, which means that another module of TPM in another computer will not be able to decrypt the drive because there is not the right encryption key.  Hardware vendors may provide their own TPM solutions for different operating systems, for example, Lenovo provides TPM drivers for some of their ThinkPads for use with Windows 2000/XP.  Some operating systems like Vista and Windows 7 Enterprise and Ultimate versions can also use the TPM module to encrypt the drive with BitLocker functionality.

This happens if the internal temperature rises to a higher value and cause overheating. The laptop supports protection against overheating and it will stop automatically to prevent the equipment from damage.

    > Then I discovered that all my main fans stop working, (I mean I can hear the hard disk is spining) but NOT the fan on the bottom
Well, if the cooling module is dead then it must be replaced by a technician for laptop.
I recommend you contact the service partner accredited for control from laptop and for the replacement of the cooling module.

    Good luck

  • C6380 works on pc but not with the help of the laptop!

I have my main PC that is hooked to my wireless-g linksys. Also, I have a laptop that I connect with the router's wireless. I used the instructions delivered with the printer wireless and can print wireless from my pc to the printer. However, I installed the installation cd on my laptop and at halfway through installing it says it cannot find all printers. I tried again and again and don't know what else to do. I can get on my laptop wireless with no problem, I have to install my linksys on the laptop cd?

Maybe it's that you have a software firewall installed on your laptop that it prevents to find the printer on the network. You can test it to see if this is the problem by temporarily disabling any firewall running on your laptop and see if it suits it. If this difficulty it then re-enable your firewall and configure it to allow UDP port 427 communication (which is what the software uses to find the printer on the network).

  • Qosmio F20-155: the laptop heat

    Hello

I have this Qosmio and too hot.
Can I keep a hole of 3 days or I have to stop every time I go to bed?

    Hello

The Qosmio laptop is a high-end device. You must know this.
All the high-end devices that are preinstalled on this laptop (graphics card, cpu) produce a lot of heat. Devices must be cooled and the must be good air circulation.
The laptop supports protection against overheating. If the temperature increases to the critical level will be the laptop stops automatically.
If everything is working properly and you do not have the bottom of any strange stops then I guess we're all ok.
I also recommend to the laptop stops if you go to bed and if you are not working on this laptop, but it's only my suggestion. Many people leave the laptop for several hours and days and nothing happened.

  • How to replace MAP of protected files?

    Hello everyone!

I need to replace the two files (C:\Windows\System32\shlwapi.dll and C:\Windows\System32\uxtheme.dll) system, but Windows File Protection prevents me to do. Any ideas?

    Best regards

    Matthias

Finally, I was able to replace the files, here's what I did:

    1. Replace the files in the DLL cache.
    2. In the System32 folder, and rename the shlwapi.dll and uxtheme.dll shlwapi.bak and uxtheme.bak, respectively.
    3. Move the new files in the System32 folder.
    4. Restart the computer, because the .bak files were always locked.
    5. Delete the .bak files.

For some reason, Windows always gave me information from old version even for new files after step 3, that wrong thinking that it didn't work at first. However, restarting the computer in step 4 fixed that too.

  • Equium A60-173 stops without reason

My laptop turns off suddenly, it comes to a complete stop, I thought it was the battery had blown or something so I bought a new.

I put it on and it started working. Everything suddenly after an hour or two use it turns off again. Same thing happens again, just total shutdown, fresh does or anything like that.

Can someone let me know what is the problem with him?
    See you soon

In my opinion the laptop automatically stops because it is overheating!
This is a common behavior if the temperature reaches the critical level.

The laptop supports protection against overheating and this protection prevents the equipment from damage!

I recommend that you check the modules of cooling for dust and debris, and if necessary to clean!
You can do it by using a jet of compressed air!
Those air sprays you can buy from every laptop or computer!
Then clean the fans and check if this can help resolve this problem automatically shut downs!

  • Satellite A100-049 stops and restarts

Have had this laptop for about six months and sometimes, no reason apparent, just turns off and restarts. Obviously, this can be very irritating. Anyone alse met this or know why it happens?

    CocoLoco

    Hello

Did you see any error messages or BSOD?

Have you noticed a high temperature or warm air, fan of the laptop?

These automatically and unexpected shutdown from the bottom may be related to high internal temperature.
The laptop supports protection against overheating.
If the temperature rises to a critical level, the laptop stops automatically to prevent the equipment from damage.

In this case mainly the temperature rises because the fans cannot turn with a maximum return.
The fan simply cleaning may help. Computer stores sell nice tools to clean the cooling modules.

But if you have no experience and don't know how, ask a technician for laptop for assistance.

  • Satellite P100-240 only works with ACPI disabled

    Hello

    I recently bought a second hand P100-240.
For a day, it worked very well, and I tested it with sisoft sandra, 3dmark, many games etc.
All played well, and it was not overheating and really powerful.

Then a day later, he just got started while I was using it. On reboot, it will reach point just sign into windows XP Media Center edition and then cut. Even in safe mode, exaclty the same thing would happen.
I left it for a few hours, in which case it was overheated, but the same thing happened when I retested.

I tried the live cd Knoppix, and initially it would turn off at halfway by starting.
Then I tried to run the Knoppix with a "acpi = off" option and it starts very well!.

Also, I have tried many BACK start-up based utils and these well everything worked.
I tested the disk, the cpu (stress and burn in tests), memory (memtest). All tools ran fine and all tested ok (and the machine does not idle)

I tried to install a copy of windows XP alongside XP MCE, but that on the installation screen lists the existing partitions, and the machine would just power off.

So try the Knoppix ACPI thing, I tried to install Windows XP without ACPI (i.e. a STANDARD pc), and he got through the fine installation. Now, I have a fully functional laptop again and can play all the games etc like before. Everything I have disappeared are ACPI some associates of power options.

Now, what I want to know, is this ACPI issue a collateral or the related issue of the BIOS?

Im running 4.40 BIOS, which is the latest BIOS for the p100-240 (PSPA3E).

Is there a previous BIOS, which is perhaps more stable and will work around this ACPI problem? But the confusion is how all it worked well for a day and a half at the start?

    Any thoughts would be helpful.

    Hello

In my opinion, the laptop is closed due to a higher internal temperature!
The point is that the laptop supports protection against overheating and sensors (ACPI Advanced Configuration and Power Management Interface) who would yell at the bottom of the unit automatically to prevent damage.

You said that this happens all by playing a few games. This heavy application leads to higher heat dissipation and therefore the temperature rises.
I think that you should first check your cooling modules if they are not clogged with dust and debris. A compressed air jet pourrait helps get rid of the dust.

Second, you must use the graphics drivers from Toshiba because such driver was designed for the use of the laptop and controls the heat dissipation the GPU too.

  • What is windows 7 please?

Hi, I have been advised to move from Windows XP to 7, someone can tell me if this is a good and is there a test I can download to see if it would work on my pc?

    Thank you very much.

Benefits of Windows 7 on Windows XP

-First of all, it will be supported until 2020, support Windows XP takes end of April 2014

-More secure, Windows XP was designed before the ubiquity of the Internet (which means it is not as secure as modern versions of Windows).

-Security features such as user account control prevents the thugs and the malicious programs easy access to important system files, preventing damage to your system. Stack heap protection prevents buffer run test, something popular on older generations of Windows such as Windows XP and 2000. Internet Explorer in Windows 7 features protected Mode and Phishing filter that prevents web applications unauthorized access to your system and keeps the sand from browser web boxed the rest of the system.

-Cannot run the latest versions of modern programs such as Microsoft Office and future programs.

-Windows XP is limited to the address space on 32-bit memory. So if you upgrade your computer with lots of RAM (4 GB or more), you will not be able to take advantage of, Windows 7 is also available as a 64-bit variant.

-Lack of Windows XP, some optimization benefits Windows 7 including Defragmenter of low priority, so you don't have to worry defragment your hard disk manually, start from services which means that your system boot faster, has the better battery life if you use a laptop.

-Improvement of backup tools, with Windows 7, you can create a system image or a replica of your installation, stored it on your external hard drive. If your installation fails, you can either restore sustained image on a new hard drive or hard drive.

-Quick Search makes it quick and easy to find your files, programs and other data in your system from the start menu.

-Windows Media Center is included so that you can save sets.

-Easier to network and share files, homegroups uses a Wizard which allows you to configure the network at once you can share things like files, pictures, videos. You can listen to all of your media from computers in your home run Media Player 11 or later. You can even stream your media on your computer at work.

Here are some of the things I can think off the top of my head. Other things like the ability to customize the operating system, you can remove features, you don't want or don't like. You can move programs pinned in your taskbar.

    Check out the following:
