Fan of death on protected 770 ETC

Hello, I'm new to this forum and I just want to say hello.

I have problem with my Portege 7720 CTE
Data sheet:
The process Intel PIII 646 MHZ pro
80GB samsung HD
320 MB of RAM (upgrade to full)
under MS - windows XP SP2.

It all worked fine then one day, the computer turns off by itself. no reason what so ever.

then I discovered that all my main fans stop working, (I mean I can hear the hard disk is spining) but NOT the fan on the bottom. Completely STOPPED.
I ring air rifle, it spins freely so not get stuck or anytying...

What could be the problem? and also how do I know if the computer is turn to the because ITS TOO HOT?

There the thermometer in the BIOS?

I also have the HOME STATION, but fan not turning or...:(ce qui se passe?) temperature sensor is maybe broken so doenst know when kick FAN, so when more it heats just tuen itself offshore? so many assumptions, but no response... :(

Help, please! It's very good stable computer before... now... spend a few $$ on it upgrade... then this is the case.

Thank you very much

Joey :)

This happens if the internal temperature rises to a higher value and cause overheating. The laptop supports protection against overheating and it will stop automatically to prevent the equipment from damage.

Well, if the cooling module is dead then it must be replaced by a technician for laptop.
I recommend you contact the service partner accredited for control from laptop and for the replacement of the cooling module.

Good luck

  • HP Pavilion G6 2252so closing down due to the high heat (fan was cleaned up)

I'm trying to fix a G6 model due to heat issues. The laptop is about 1 year. From what I have read on the internet, it is mainly due to the accumulation of dust. I told the owner that this was not covered by the warranty and offered to help with the cleaning of the fan. I completely cleaned the fan (incl. Remove the fan cover) and change the thermal paste on the processor. The problem persists. With the Speccy program, I read time of departure. for CPU to 90 degrees celsius. It's very different when the laptop shuts down. Sometimes it happends fast, at other times, he can run for hours. Even if the processor is completely cold, you can stop even before windows starts correctly. I managed to see the temperatures over 150 degrees celsius which should be alarming high. Even 90 degrees seems VERY high to me. The air blown by the fan seems not hot. It is only moderately hot and adjusts it fan speed according to the temperature. He begins to rise from more than 100 degrees. 90 to 99 degrees it runs pretty slow.

If I try to go into the BIOS, I have only seconds before the closed laptop.

From my point of view, he owes me two temperature sensors not working not properly, or the manipulation of temperature sensors is misinterperet, or simply the cooling system which is default. I don't know how the cooling system. The seat has a cobber lead wires for the heater and the fan. The tube contains a fluid? The liquid could somehow have vapourised?

Be warm and helping the owner canceled its guarantee, now that I've had the dismantled oidissement?

I tried to havn't updated the BIOS, because I'm afraid I'm going to brick the laptop, if it goes out during the process.

Where is the temperature sensor placed on the Board? Is the sencot'en CPU built in or is it place in over/under it?

How can I help the owner more far.

    Best regards

Hello again. I had actually read what you have written, but included these pages although I knew you did a large part of him he was already comprehensive, but also a reference to the point in case there was something on the picture in one of the documents that you may have missed, as a task to clean. I also realized that the BIOS update has been in the process as well, but guess you wouldn't do that, according to your previous statement, and that's understandable. I have not updated the BIOS, either when the PC has tendency to overheat and stop in the process (and brick it).

In addition, there is the part about hardware failure analyses. From what you describe, it seems to me that the fan does not work as it should and is the likely source of the problem. If the unit is running too hot that you mention and the outgoing air flow is not so hot then there isn't enough air stream passes through. If instead it turns out to be a sensor problem, which is most likely going to require a replacement of the Commission.

I have included the Service of Guide so that you can see how disassemble the unit safely if something had been missed in your household, and also, so you should have access to the parts list, if it turns out that the material is the source of the problem, since it includes the reference numbers for various sections that are replaceable by the customer including the fan and the heat sink (, motherboard, etc.) I have also included in part to answer your question on heat sensors that you request that are not listed as replaceable parts by the discreet.

With respect to the copper pipes, they are units normally sealed with a small amount of distilled water inside at less than the normal pressure to reduce the boiling point of water, sort of way, it is meant to vaporize to help dissipate the heat. The only reason why the liquid inside would be gone is if the seal in the hose is damaged. If this is the case then it should be replaced.

Now at this point, other than hardware problems as possible, as the system of cooling or the motherboard, which might need replacement, you can also look at the possibility of a cooling plate to increase the airflow. I myself for one of my laptops that I have left my son to use. He was very helpful while working in a warmer room in summer. It could be a quick thing to try so to make reliable unit until the likely hardware problem is resolved.

Finally if you don't find that it is the material that needs to be replaced you should try calling the technical support to the 800-474-6836 line. If you do not live in the United States / Canada region, please click the link below to get help from your region number. http://WWW8.HP.com/us/en/contact-HP/WW-phone-assist.html

    I hope this helps.

Check with your manufacturer for newer drivers video card (special forces), known issues and
other possible problems - check also the video card and game maker forums. It can even be
a problem created by the interaction of two pilots (rather than the usual cause), perhaps the

A driver tried to access a pageable (or that is completely invalid) address while the IRQL was too high.

This bug check is usually caused by drivers who used a wrong address.

If the first parameter has the same value as the fourth parameter, and the third parameter indicates a runtime operation, this bug check was probably caused by a driver who was trying to run code when the code itself has been paginated outside. The possible causes for the error page are:

    • The function was marked as pageable and was operating at an IRQL higher (including obtaining a lock).
    • The function call was made to a function in another pilot, and that this driver has been unloaded.
    • The function was called by using a function pointer that was an invalid pointer.

    Sincerely

Hello Shao Ma, when using speedtest.net or a similar site based on flash to measure your speed of connection, then it could be a problem with the protected mode that adobe has implemented for its flash plugin for firefox. Some older versions of f-secure or report of trusteer are known to cause slowdowns with flash, or it could be something similar on your system that interferes (maybe security software that block/sandbox the container used for protected mode, etc...).

as a solution, you could try to disable the protected mode and see if that makes a difference.

in case you want to solve the problem more far, it would be preferable to contact adobe support and file a bug at bugbase.adobe.com report (choose 'Adobe Flash Player' as the product & 'Browser Integration' as being the product box), since they will have to better understand the inner workings of flash protected mode and therefore knows what else could be the cause of the problem you saw.

So I had them come back and they tried all kinds of things, only to discover Internet Explorer gets 50mbps, so it's something with Foxfire. What would it be?

In particular, the duration of the 'freeze' and if it is accompanied by other symptoms such as busy fan cooling, unexpected hard drive activity, etc. Also get it for laptop since the 'freeze' itself or you have to take steps to erase it?

Light breaks (usually a few seconds) may occur if a background activity kicks in and requires processor to complete cycles. This can be events such as Windows, looking for product updates from the Microsoft web site, applications, anti-virus updates, e-mail applications checking e-mail etc. servers. Even unexpected applications (such as Nero or Adobe Acrobat) can do audits of regular update which can cause to your laptop pause momentarily.

It is also useful to check your laptop for malware (use Adaware and Spybot S & D) to ensure that there is nothing present that may trigger this behavior.
