Laptop buttons & keys
I have a Dell Inspiron 1525. There is a left and right above the keys F5 & F6 button. It has a picture of a House on this subject. I tried to press the key several times repeatedly, but nothing's happened yet. What is it for and how do I get to exploit?

Computer laptop product key is missing
Original title: license problem
I have a laptop that have real BONES. But my laptop product key is absent today. Let me know the procedure for activation.
Have you looked for a COA sticker on the underside of the box inside the battery compartment or the computer?
Select Start, right-click computer, click Properties, select change product key (under Windows Activation) and enter the product key of 25 characters (from the COA sticker). Click Next to activate via the internet. Restart your computer.
If there is still a problem, I suggest that you run the Microsoft Genuine Advantage diagnostic tool in normal mode and copy and paste the results into a response for further analysis:
http://go.Microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=52012
Run the tool and when it ends, click the copy button, open a text such as Word or Notepad file and select Edit, paste. You can paste directly into an answer here. Open a response, right click and select Paste.

Satellite M70: Command button keys do not work
Currently I have reformatted my M70 to WinXp Pro Sp2, downloaded all the related TOSHIBA drivers and associated programs [IE. [Button control Toshiba driver / program] and the system's normal operation. However, the CONTROL BUTTON keys don't work, worked fine with XP Home edition and Win Media but when I called Toshiba support they could not help me because I had upgraded to Xp Pro. My Question is... Is there a fix or a solution to this problem and where I can download or find this fix.
Thank you
EMM
Hello
First of all, you should check your serial number because on the Toshiba driver page, you will find drivers for Satellite M70 PSM70 and PSM71.
Secondly, it is very important that you need to install drivers in the correct order.
On the Toshiba driver page, you will find the installation instructions.I also found a driver controls and controls on the page of the driver.
I guess you have to install both applications. But if you follow the instructions everything works correctly. -

http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/950929/en-usIf your computer is pre-installed with Windows 7, you must use the recovery partition reinstall Windows 7, this will exempt from the need to use the product key or reactivate over the telephone:
New computers coming often pre-installed with Windows 7 have what is called a recovery partition. This is used to reinstall an operating system in the case of a system failure. To access it, you need to start when you start your computer by pressing a function key. This can be either F1, F2, F9, F10, F11, F12 key DEL or tab. See the manual that came with your PC for instructions on how to reinstall Windows.
If your recovery partition is not available or damaged, you must contact the manufacturer of your computer, and request that a defined recovery disk you can use to reinstall Windows 7. They could practice a small shipping and handling.
This is how the recovery partition is accessible to most popular brands...
For Dell, press CTRL + F11 directly after switching on the device
For HP, press F11 directly after switching on the device
For LG, press F11 directly after switching on the device
For Toshiba, press and hold "0" BEFORE and during the power upward
For Acer, press and hold ALT + F10, as soon as you see the logo
For Asus, press F9, as soon as you see the Asus logo.
For Samsung, press F4 to the power upward...
For Fujitsu, press the F8 key directly after the power
Advent, restart your computer. Then, press F10 repeatedly until the message "Starting system recovery"
Sony VAIO, reboot and press "F8" or "F10" repeatedly until the screen "Advanced Boot Options".

HP G62-451SA notebook: replace a laptop computer key HP G62-451SA
Hello
I had to remove one of the keys on my laptop and now can't put it back on! Ive been online and on youtube, but nobody seems to be able to advise how to replace a. It's just one of the standard buttons and I have all the parts. I can't seem to be able to get help from HP because I am out of warranty
Can someone help me please?
Thank you!
It is extremely hard to do and even harder to explain how do. You must first get a mental picture of how the key is attached and how to build media bit (I call them the 'bridge') under the key. I just spent an hour doing this Saturday on one last model G62 and it has not been easy.
This is useful, if not precisely there:
https://www.YouTube.com/watch?v=0IB5sFMXZFc
I just often say xxxx it and buy a new keyboard for $15 on the theory that my time is more valuable than that.

transfer desk for laptop product key
Last year, I bought Windows Vista Home premium OEM software for my office... How can I transfer the key now to my laptop... Thank you
You can not. Software Vista OEM installed are tied to the machine, it was originally installed on, and cannot be used on this one machine. It cannot be transferred to another computer (even if the first is broken). That's how OEM licenses work. If you bought a copy retail for Vista then it can be transferred to another machine - but installed on a single computer at a time.
See the following about replacement for a software that can help: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/326246.
Sorry if this isn't what you wanted to hear, but it's like that.
I hope this helps.
Good luck!

I need this back key... I did formal several times my laptop... since... well there all how that Microsoft will be able to provide me with my back BUTTON...
Windows 7 is pre-installed on my computer, How can I find the product key?
The product key is located on the COA sticker attached to the bottom of your laptop or in the battery compartment. In rare cases it can be found also in the memory compartment. For systems of the Tower, look at the top or the side of the system unit. It looks like the following:
If the certificate of authenticity (COA) label is damaged or letters or not readable, you will need to consider the following options:
- Use a digital camera to capture an image of the COA and enlarge him on your computer.
- If the COA sticker is damaged, you must use the recovery partition to reinstall Windows 7, it will be exempt from the need to use the product key to activate your installation of Windows 7.
- If your recovery partition is not available or damaged, you must contact the manufacturer of your computer, and requires only a defined recovery disk you can use to reinstall Windows 7. They could practice a small shipping and handling. This will exempt the need to also use the product key.
- If none of the above works or is not available, then its best you buy a new license Windows 10 or Windows 7:
Buy Windows 10 family/professional edition
You can find software OEM System Builder of dozens of online merchants. The current price for OEM Windows 7 Professional Newegg, for example, is $ 140. When I checked a few minutes ago, Amazon offered packages OEM Windows 7 Professional from several vendors at prices ranging from $ 101 to $ 150. When I checked earlier, a package specifically designed for reconditioned PCs cost only $ 50 for a 64-bit copy.
There is no technical limitation to prevent you from using OEM software on your computer, although this software only works for a clean install, not an upgrade. In the past, Microsoft has been remarkably inconsistent in his advice to clients on the question of whether this practice is allowed. (See "is allowed to use Windows OEM on your own PC? Don't ask Microsoft. »)

that comes with the laptop activation key is not applicable to the type of windows installed
Hello. I try to activate my windows with the product key that I saw at the back of my laptop but a habit of working because it says that its not applicable to the ultimate windows that is installed on my laptop... his view are rather than I run windows 7 all upward rather than windows 7 ultimate... I don't know how to do this. Help, please. Thanks :)
Recovery of your computer (Windows) using "Recovery Partition" of the Manufacture or
contact PC manufacturing (see support links below) and order the recovery media.Note: Activation is not required when you use the recovery partition or recovery media, but you will need to reinstall all your applications.
Also to save your documents on external support (if possible) before starting the recovery process.
Once completed, your PC will be actually in the State when you first purchased it and turned on for the 1st time.
To access the recovery Partition, start your computer, and then by pressing the appropriate function key. It can be either F1, F2, F9, F10, F11, F12, DEL or tab key. Check the list below or your user manual for your brand and model.
If your hard drive has failed, do not have a recovery partition or the recovery partition is not accessible,
Then, you must contact the manufacturer support team and ask for a "recovery disc" which allows to reinstall Windows 7.How access/start the process of recovery of the manufactures listed below.

HP 14-r206nv: Windows activation rejects laptop product key after replacing hard drive
Hello.
The hard drive of my laptop not then the computer was sent to the official service (first back to the store where I bought as it is still under warranty). Today, that she came to me with a new hard drive but with no OS installed, so I tried to install it on my own as I am a student in computer engineering.
I know that in windows preinstalled computers laptops like mine is the product key is stored in the bios I did a clean install of Windows 8.1 64bits (non-professional because I know that you need to install the exact same version). But the problem is that now, windows can not be activated. Activation in internet reports"Error Code: 0xC004C003. "Error description: the activation server determined the specified product key has been blocked '.
So I tried to do an activation phone but microsoft support, they responded that it is not a valid product key and that I should get in touch with the manufacturer! What's wrong?
Hello;
Let me welcome you on the HP forums!
I read your post on activation problems and wanted to help.
Sorry, but that's just one buy volunteers self-help personal forum and we cannot do anything about the problem of activation of here.As I see it, you have two options (1) of the store and the Support of HP (2).
About the store, they SHOULD have returned the laptop you fully functional. So if it was MY PC, I would go assault store and REQUEST that they we're right. You've taken or sent to them to be fixed, not to give cost you a virgin machine!
Regarding technical Support HP, as this PC is still under warranty, you should contact HP Customer Support directly so they put you in contact with HP Tech Support to see what they can do on the diagnosis and repair of your machine remotely.
I did recently, and HP technology was able to remotely access my PC on the Internet and to make the necessary repairs.
If you live in the United States or the Canada, details are on this page: http://www8.hp.com/us/en/contact-hp/phone-assist.html#section1
If you live elsewhere, contact details are on this page: http://www8.hp.com/us/en/contact-hp/ww-contact-us.html
NOTE: once you get through, stay on the line until you are finally able to talk to someone ' one - it can take a while!
Good luck
