  I have searched google using many different sentences but have not been able to get confirmation of this, the best that I found was a manual under the user guides for the g6-2006ax on the site of HP, HP Pavilion Notebook PC Maintenance and Service Guide g6 as HARD a drive Bay labels ' Solid State drive (SSD) / disk hard bay " (page 25) , but when I continue to read about it does list that the various Intel CPU (page 31) while my laptop has a processor AMD A6 - 4400 M, when I read further down the list to the hard drives it list only various HARD drives without mention of SSD (page 32) thanks to the dating. PDF except in the labelling of the Bay of HARD drive so that left me very uncertain and confused.

  You can simply replace the mechanical hard drive with a 2.5 inches wide and 7 or 9.5 mm thick SSD SATA laptop computer. Don't worry about transfer speeds.   Only, I bought an SSD and it was a 330 Intel, so I can't make recommendations for you.

  If it were me, I'd get the 335 Intel, but this is only what I would do.

  I have a Pavilion 15-p126ng and I wanted to buy an SSD for her a little push. Now, I hope you can help me to find the best way to do it.

  (1) remove the DVD drive and install the SSD with a caddy.

  (2) swap with the SSD HARD drive and put the HHD with a shopping cart, or if non of the above is possible,.

  (3) swap HDD with SSD and use the external HARD drive?

  Disc compartment hard requires a pretty extensive disassembly and put at risk, but not to void the warranty. In other words, if you break something in the process, you're on your own, but if it goes well, HP will still honor the warranty.

  DO NOT want to put the SSD in one of these media for DVD player, why? Couple reasons. 1. the interface for the caddy is slower, so you do not get much benefit from the speed of the SSD. and 2. In a caddy of optical disc (DVD) drive is not bootable, so it can be used as storage device only.

  I'm not a big fan of optical drive caddies, but if you just need storage move forward and get an and place the original inside for storage hard drive. You can always play the MP3 of it and watch movies stored on the hard drive in the caddy, but if you need an optimal speed as to edit a video or make a large photoshop on a bunch of image files, it will significantly slow to respond.

  The best SSD on the market in my opinion is a Samsung 850 Evo. I would like to don't mess with the 120 gig: too small. I would get at least a 250 gig, which will allow you to use HP recovery discs. Alternatively, you can make a clone of the original disc

  See page 3 of the memory card. It is said 12 GB is the maximum, but we know from experience, you can install 2 x 8 GB in total 16 concerts. No 32 GB. It must be low voltage, and if you already have a single module of 8 GB you want to duplicate its specifications. If it has 8 black blocks on the side, you need to get a module like this.

  It is not easy to work on this system. You must remove the top cover to get to the hard drive Bay and remove the motherboard to add RAM. See p. 105 and 116.

  You can install a type SATA 2.5-inch 1 TB SSD. There is no definitive list brands supported. People sometimes have problems with some specific SSD as some determinative seem to cause problems, but the Evo to Samsung 850 is a good choice with a record few if any questions.

  The computer does not know if she is running only Windows or Linux and the RAM or the SSD works with Linux or Windows, or in dual boot. The Linux kernels current used in the current distributions like Ubuntu 16.04 SSD handle very well with a maximum return.

  Which SATA (I, II or III) is compatible with the dv7-6178us? Specification the SATA is backward compatible. This means that disks SSD SATA type will work in your notebook. The SSD will be made only to the level of specification SATA your SATA controller is capable of. If the controiller is SATA150 so your SSD SATA600 installed work bandwidth SATA150.

  What is the largest compatible SSD, or should I expect for the best performance? , You can install one with the largest capacity you can afford.  I would recommend not to install a larger than 512 GB. My own brand preferences are Intel, OCZ Technology, Samsung and SSD Crucial.  Purchase of the SSD in upgrade kit is the simplest solution. Upgrade kits come with a SATA to USB cable and cloning software making it a fairly simple process to upgrade the laptop. See the post-it that I wrote at the top of the section of portable equipment for some details on this.

  I'm looking to upgrade the RAM and hard drive on my laptop HP Pavilion 17-e020us (these are the first updates it will receive).

  I have 6 GB of RAM and want to update to the maximum supported by the computer, 8 GB of RAM.  Which model of chip RAM should I buy (in addition to the DDR3L - I know that many), and where can I buy it from?  It will take a 4 GB chip (the computer is 6 GB a 4GB chip and a 2GB chip; I will swap the 2 GB chip for a chip of 4 GB for a total of 8 GB).

  I'm also looking to upgrade the hard drive 5400 RPM for a Solid State Drive.  The SSD should be around 500 GB.  Which models are compatible with my laptop and what model do you recommend?  Furthermore, to what extent will be upgraded to SSD my computer speed and performance?

  The memory can actually be upgraded to 16 gigs. 2 x 8. Upgrade to 8 GB is a good idea, however. For most people, 16 gigs is excessive. 4 correct gig module is the following:
