  • Laptop HP Pavillion 15-p051u: HP Recovery Manager should be able to change the computer creating media?

I'm doing the original backup set of DVDs for a laptop HP Pavillion (15-p051us) 15. Due to an error, I'm afraid to continue.
I got to speak with a HP tech person, who helped me to pass the second record to DVD. now, I'm trying to start the burning of the third DVD of backup recovery. When I click on the button to launch the "HP Media creation" I get interrupted with a window which shows:

    ***********************************************
    * User account control *.
    ***********************************************
    *                                                                                          *
    * Want to allow the following program *.
    * to make changes to this computer?                      *
    ***********************************************
    * Program name: HP Recovery Manager *.
    * Verified Publisher: Hewlett Packard Company *.
    * Original folder: hard drive on this computer *.
    Program location: "C:\Program Files\ (x 86)."

    ***********************************************
    *                           Yes     No                                              *
    ***********************************************

I obviously don't want to change the program to backup for me when I'm not finished to make the backup. (As I've noted, two DVD's burned and verified. Four still needed.) But when I click on the button 'No' to say "don't edit my computer now until I finished the last four DVD" disappears from the user account control window and the creation of HP recovery media is not engaged. My first two questions are (1) why my computer wants to interrupt the creation of my 6 DVD recovery until the work is done? (2) it would be safe for me to click on the 'Yes' button or what may cause a fatal error in the backup process? In a note, I would like to report that the person HP with whom I spoke on the phone mentioned the fact that the error can be caused by lower DVD media. To counter this notice I tried three DVD good nine successive State. I used more than a dozen DVDs of this package on another computer. With these, he had no problem with registration, verification or later to read these DVD. If my guess is that it is unlikely three of them failing in the HP computer. I don't think that's the problem. I read through 60 first found elements that were identified when I did a search on the website of HP using the key phrase 'Recovery Manager change'. This has proved a total of 7499 possible Articles, but I looked through 60 without success.

Answer Yes to user account control. This is the irritating feature of Windows that assume at all times that you don't know what you're doing. HP Recovery is harmless and should have access to the files on hard drive.

For example, you could get the same question when you try to install the software for a printer, etc. and would answer Yes - you would answer no if a piece of malware slipped on your system and UAC taken he's trying to make changes and pointed out.

  • Elitepad 1000 G2: Elitepad 1000 impossible G2 update bios or boot on USB

My G2 Elitepad 1000 was repaired in December because he did not work with Elitepad docking station. Support has replaced the motherboard.

Now I'm unable to upgrade BIOS or even boot from a USB device.

BIOS upgrades fail with the following error "an error has occurred during flash EFI.

I tried to create a recovery USB flash drive (for flashing BIOS), but am not able to boot to the USB device (according to instructions).

I was also unable to start on another USB support such as Windows, boot CD installers, etc...

My tablet is now out of warranty (1 July... grrrr) and I can not open a service request.

    Please help.

Given that HP did not respond, I kept searching for answers.

The anniversary of 10 Windows Update yesterday failed with the error:

"We could not update system reserved partition."

So I searched for the error and found this MS support document: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3086249

It seems that HP had broke the 100 MB EFI Partition (System Reserved Partition) with updates and it prevented additional updates to the partition.

I followed the instructions for Windows 7 or 8/8.1 with GPT partition and was able to update my BIOS. I will try to update Windows 10 now.

  • Re: Computer laptop Satellite U does not work after BIOS update

    I was updating my BIOS.

My computer restarted abruptly, saying: there was a problem and that a check should be performed.
After reaching 100%, he's stuck. I waited for a while, but eventually it turned off.

When I rebooted, it stopped working correctly.
The screen, keyboard and USB ports do not work.

    Can anyone help with this?

    Hello

Looks like something was wrong during the update of the BIOS.
In this case the module ROM was flashed properly and therefore your laptop cannot start properly.

I think the BISO ROM must be flashed again, but this can be done by a Toshiba ASP because guys have had a trad-BIOS version that is necessary to Flash the ROM module

    Good luck

  • Laptop not start after I have updated BIOS

    Toshiba Satellite A215-S5849
Initially I had problems with the left speaker making a horrible ringing. Seeking advice forums & help & the fact that I'm pretty computer I came to the conclusion to reinstall an operating system was called for.
Since I use that this laptop for DJing theres only a few programs on it there wasn't much hassle.

Operating system reinstalled Windows 7 update it & all drivers & the Buzz was still there.
That's when I read a couple of users of Toshiba laptops said helped a BIOS upgrade.

So I went to the official page of support Toshiba & my phone flashed using the following BIOS upgrade

ACPI BIOS Flash version 2.00 for Satellite A215 (PSAFGU/PSAFHU) 32/64-bit

Towards the end of the flash my pc screen went black power lights are on, power cord light turned on, seeing the battery on just not OS

    What I tried.
    Disconnected from the power supply.
    Battery removed
Leave for 20 mins & then tried to restart.

    Same thing happens every time
LEDs power lights HD towers for a minute, but nothing happens after that.

Any ideas why update official software would cause my computer to not work & how to back up or clear my bios to the default specifications.

It seems that the Bios Update gone bad and you need to reflash it. you need to contact the asp (SAV):

  • Laptop HP Pavillion 15-n003T: WiFi adapter does not

My wifi has suddenly been turned off and now it does not. When I troubleshoot it shows an error "there could be a problem with the driver for the wireless adapter. Windows could not automatically bind the Protocol IP on the network card stack. »
    Help, please!

    Hey @Nidhi_Verma,.

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support! This is a great question other clients may also wonder; Please click the accept as a Solution, if you feel helps you to this post, or could help others.

My first suggestion would be to use the wireless network troubleshooting and Internet tool. At the bottom it will ask you questions to help you diagnose the problem.

Have you tried to restore the BIOS?

How long it has spent for?

Have you tried to do a system restore to a time when there is no present problem?

I understand that you receive an error message that says: "there could be a problem with the driver for the adapter Wi - Fi. Windows could not automatically bind the Protocol IP on the network card stack. »

Please try to uninstall the driver in Device Manager by using the following steps:

    • Go to the Device Manager.
    • Expand network adapters.
    • Right-click on all NICs individually.
    • Click on uninstall.
    • Restart the laptop twice.

If so far, none of these steps have helped, I suggest that you take a look at the document troubleshooting wireless network and Internet and follow each step from end to end.

Please use the HP Support Assistant network diagnostics or tool Internet and Windows network and if you need help, I would be more than happy to continue to help you. Please re-post with the results of the resolution of the problems. Please remember that you can show your appreciation by clicking thumbs-up.

    Thank you!

  • Laptop does not go beyond the the BIOS splash screen

Hi, I have one of these laptops the DV6000 feared. He died a few weeks ago (powers to the top, but nothing on the screen) and this weekend I did the heat gun reflow. In any case, which seemed to be "fixed." Now, here's the problem. When I turn, I see the splash of HP screen and options for F10 (enter Setup) or ESC for boot order. If I press F10, it will say "Please wait" as it tries to enter the BIOS Setup but nothing else happens. If I press ESC, it tries to start but only happens to a screen that indicates the version of BIOS, DVD/RW model, model of hard disk, etc. It does not start in Windows Vista.

Now, if I take the hard drive, I can enter the configuration of the BIOS without any problem. If I use a Ubuntu installation DVD disc, I have Ubuntu load (from the DVD player) without any problem. I am at a loss. Any help would be appreciated.

    Thank you!

It solved! I had to remove the HARD drive to get into the BIOS. In the BIOS, the native SATA setting must be disabled. Again, this makes no sense to me, but to save this setting and rebooting... success! My laptop lives. DavidPK, thanks for your suggestions.

    Hello

Enter: e9lo1gg74p (to be noted that the 3rd character is a lowercase L)

You can remove the need for a power on password as follows:-use the code above if necessary.

Shut down the laptop.  Now on TAP the ESC key as soon as you press the power button to access the start menu, then select f10 to open the Bios menu.  Use the arrows to select the Security tab and press ENTER.  Use the arrow keys again to highlight the power on password and press ENTER.  Enter the current password (use the code above) and then the new password, simply leave this blank and press on enter - do the same for the confirmation field.  Press f10, select this option to save the new settings and press to enter.
