Laptop on Windows 8 open settings then freezes help please.
I checked several other posts on this topic. Any assistance they received was not helpful to me. So for a while now, my pc settings did not work. I really thought it was a big deal, until some of the other family wanted an account on the computer. When I went to make an account, that Pc settings did not work and all the other ways to make accounts to work. The error I get is something like file name is incorrect or something like that. But the problem is that she Pc config and store custom actually run. It will launch that crash. I tried all orders by the cmd, all scans and others. They do nothing. I really want to do a factory reset... But it is through computer settings so I can't and I went to Fry and they said they couldn't help... Can you? Its my last resort... Otherwise, I have to get a new computer.
I have no idea what you are clicking on at the shop
On which machine you are trying to download?
You use a Windows 7 or higher of the machine.
And you click on the media to create the link I gave you.
I just re-checked and it works
Here, it's still a different link.

I have a HP Pavilion g7 - 1205ev laptop with Windows 7 64 bit Home Premium edition.
I bought a new hard drive, so I had to reinstall Windows.
After installation, the laptop cannot connect to internet by wifi or Ethernet. After trying the troubleshooting it says that windows do not detect a network card installed properly.
In the Device Manager, I see that there is an exclamation to these exact components:
Standard VGA graphics card
BCM20702AO
Ethernet controller
Network controller
PCI device
PCI Simple Communications controller
SM Bus controller
Download all these somewhere? And of course I'll upload them to another PC that my laptop will not at all online.
I also tried to run Ubuntu from a flash drive on my laptop and the Ubuntu uses the Internet very well. (If this information is useful at all)
Can someone tell me what to do? I'd appreciate any help. Thank you.

New connection WIFI in Windows 8 is INCREDIBLY unstable. Help, please!
My machine is a Samsung NP550P7C. I have 4-5 bars of signal when connecting to my wireless router. There are 3-4 laptops in the House who regularly use the same router without ever having an unstable connection, which gives a solid and undeniable performance. However, mine is 'nervous' at best, often late, sometimes completely cut, causing I have to reset the network adapter to retrieve my connection. Essentially, it is unusable.I tried various things thanks to scouring the internet:
-Adjust the settings of the adapter wireless on all the power of the Plans that I use on 'Maximum Performance '.-All my network card drivers are up to date.
-J' tried to disable the network card and allows him once again.Nothing works. It of very frustrating and is clearly a problem with Windows 8, because my laptop is brand new and all the drivers etc are up to date.
I have not tried to uninstall and reinstall Windows, as I literally just received the computer the other day! I have tried unistalling and then re - install the wireless adapter, as it seems very risky to meHelp, please!
Hi James,
I appreciate your efforts to solve the problem.
This problem may occur if the network card is damaged or due to corrupted network drivers.

C:\Windows/system32/cmd.exe error. Help, please.
My computer is Windows Vista. When it boots, a black screen with C:\Windows/system32/cmd.exe happens. It freezes and will not respond. I can't type or even close this box. Help, please. I'm not a computer expert, so the simple step by step instructions will be appreciated.
It does not start in safe mode. Is there a way I can fix this in safe mode?Hello
1. have you made changes on the computer before this problem?
2. do you get any error code or error message?
I would suggest trying the following methods and check if it helps.
Method 1:
Start in safe mode and then put the computer in a clean boot state in order to determine which driver or program is causing this issue.
Step 1: Boot in SafeMode in Windows Vista:
http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/start-your-computer-in-safe-mode
Step 2: How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a boot in Windows Vista or Windows 7:
http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135
Note: once you have completed troubleshooting, try the procedure described in step 7 to reset the computer to start as usual.
Method 2:
Restore the system to a point when the computer was working fine and check if the problem persists.
What is system restore?

Windows 8 and first 11? Help, please
Hello
I'm on windows 8 (64-bit) and PE11. Today, I lost all my work, even though I had saved regularly and I have to redo the rendering very often. Tonight because I'm redoing my work day, I lose sync and keep clips integers disappear. It seems to be becoming more and more unstable. I don't really know if I'm doing something wrong or, possibly, Windows 8 and 11 elements first are not the best fit. I noticed a few other post mentioning window 8 problems even if they seem to be different from mine.
The head of it at my company wants to remove windows 8 and install windows 7 on my computer (especially because of a VPN issue), but I fear that I will lose all my work.
Can anyone suggest a way, or a number to call and tell me how I can save my work, get rid of windows 8 and then re-import my work in a Windows 7? I fear only 2 weeks of my work is going up in smoke.
PS I posted earlier, I am also having more frequent crashes.
Help, please
Thank you
- I would advise to do a full backup of the system before your machine for installation of the OS. I use Macrium Reflect product. There is a paid version I have, but there is also a free version.
- Note the path to your project's resources and the .prel file.
- Make sure that all the assets of the project (pictures, videos, sounds) and the project .prel file are saved on another disc or flash drive. Disable PRE11 on your computer before handing over the installation of W7.
- After the installation of W7 copy these assets of the project and the .prel file in the same folder on the hard drive of machines (2) above.
- Install PRE11 and activate it.
- Open the project file.
See you soon,.

After the updates of this week, the system will not load anything.
Hi Juliet,
Thanks for asking the question in the Microsoft Community forum.
From your description, I understand that after Windows Update, you can not load Windows.
To better understand the question, please answer the following questions:
1. What is the version of the Windows operating system that is installed on your computer?
2. what happens when you try to load the system? You receive an error message?
3. what application or anti-virus security suite is installed on your computer?
4. you remember after installation of update, you are facing this problem?
Remove any external device connected to the computer without keyboard and mouse and then perform the methods.
If you are using Windows 7 and Windows Vista, follow the mentioned methods:
Method 1:
If the computer does not start in safe mode, perform the last known good Configuration.
Reference: http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/using-last-known-good-configuration
Note: Link above also applies to Windows Vista.
Question remains always use same method 2.
Method 2:
Try to perform the Startup Repair and check.
http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/products/features/Startup-Repair
If you are using Windows XP, follow the mentioned methods:
Method 1:
Perform the last known good configuration.

I have Windows XP 32-bit with IE8 Add ons. I mainly use Firefox Mozilla for my browser and Yahoo as my home page. Anyway, I have tried all the support and help guide and technicians told me to do to get add ons to open and activate but in vain. This computer was given to me as a profession, and it was used in a Bank, so I think that the system administrator has disabled the add ons. I myself as an administrator and use the tips and tricks given windows and Microsoft, but I always run up a wall. I need help, please.
I also need to know how to uninstall Windows antivirus software. I can't find anywhere on my computer. I feel really stupid and he is probably right in front of my face, but I can't find it to uninstall. I have McAfee that I paid dearly for if I want to use it until it expires. This "Microsoft antivirus' witness (AKA Trojan W32/FakeAlert) hijackware infection!
If you manage to somehow move to Win7, you will always have an infected computer.
The ONLY way to solve the problem is by formatting the current hard drive and do a clean installation of Windows, whether it is WinXP or Win7.
The ONLY way you can do a clean install of Windows XP if you have disks that came with the computer or if by chance, there is a hidden partition restore (not to be confused with the system restore).
If your kids er - well & their spouses are going to spend money on a new HARD drive, they'be be better spend on a low-end Windows 7 computer and brand-new (for example, a netbook or a mini).
NB: Any data on your Windows XP computer must be considered 100% reliable! (This includes all of your usernames and passwords, for example, those used for online banking, etc.) You do NOT want to put ALL the data from Windows XP to a new computer or HARD disk.
Good luck, Grandma. Hope that your grandchildren will treat you better than their parents.
PS: Time wounds all heels.

I created a video in movie maker. He recorded as a MP4 video that is 4.25 GB. The film is less than 30 minutes. I'm trying to burn to a DVD + R that says it holds 8.5 GB / 240 minutes using Windows Media Player. It is said that my file is too large to fit on the disk. I don't understand why. Help, please.
I have seen other issues similar to mine where people suggested other software download burning DVDs. If that's what I do, I'll do it. However, I also know WHY the windows media player tells me that my file is too large because when I look at the numbers, it seems that it is NOT. It seems that windows media player should be able to accomplish this simple task that I have to look for other software to download and learn.
Thanks again!
Windows Media Player can only burn files to DVD as data disc burning, the disc is not compatible with the DVD player. You can consult this guide, this is how burn mp4 movie to DVD, hope this helps you.
