Laptop power light blinking and won't turn on

I have a laptop HP Pavilion 1045DX M6 and I recently tried to plug it into a screen RGB, analog and I saw a spark and the laptop off.

During this time, I ran the laptop directly from the adapter without battery because I don't really use it.

If the laptop is turned off and I tried to turn it back on and nothing happened. The charge indicator light turned off even though it was still plugged. I thought that maybe the power adapter does work more or something, but I tested it with a voltmeter and there was still power in.

So I decided to put the battery in the laptop was able to turn on, and after a while, it an area that I never felt heat it before was really hot and later felt like something was burning.

But anyway, when it started, the screen resolution was really weak and made a maximum brightness. When the laptop end of initialization, it randomly started to install drivers (such as WLAN rapid storage and intel) and Yes. Sound does not work either. I tried to connect the laptop back and battery does not charge.

I turned off and took out the battery and tried to run the AC adapter only but the light flickered constantly and when I press on it, the WiFi (F12) button light on for a second then back off the coast. I also hear that high frequency noise I have ever heard before somewhere in the laptop.

I've done a hard reset with no luck. Any suggestions? Thank you!

Hi @djstar12 ,

Welcome to the HP Forums!

I would like to take a moment and thank you for using the forum, it's a great place to find answers. You have the best experience in the HP forum, I would like to draw your attention to the Guide of the Forums HP first time here? Learn how to publish and more.

I understand that you have attempted to connect an analog RGB display and you saw a spark. The laptop off and then will not re-start. (the battery has been removed at the time). The light on the adapter was not turned on so you checked the voltage on the adapter and it was fine.

You tried power turn it on with the battery power and booted up with display dim and started to install the drivers, but you have noticed, it was getting very hot in a specific area. Also, you do not have audio and the battery does not charge.

Once again, you removed the battery and tried so that it starts with the adapter and the light on the adapter flashes continuously. You also hear the treble and when you tried to activate the wireless, he came for a second and then powered back off.

The only thing that I can suggest to test the adapter and the equipment.

Using and testing the power adapter AC

Test of hardware failures (Windows 7, Vista).

  • iMac just keeps blinking and won't turn on

I was downloading the last update and the computer froze just so I turn it off then on again, and it tries to load but then stops. The screen goes black then flashes. Tried to unplug and wait but still the same. Someone knows what to do?

    Greetings Campbell,

I'm sure it's painful to have your iMac to be unable to boot with a flashing screen. You are able to start the iMac on a recovery partition by starting at the top and pressing command + R? See this article - OS X: on OS X Recovery. If you can start the way, use disk utility to repair the hard drive.

If you are unable to start recovery, try resetting first controller of system - reset the management system (SCM) controller on your Mac. to see if that produces no change.

Is resetting SMC does not make a difference, try to reset the NVRAM. Follow the steps in this article - How to reset NVRAM on your Mac.

Please repost it here with their results.

Thank you for using communities of Apple Support.

    Be well.

  • 700 Lenovo does not load and won't turn on

I bought a 700 Yoga and after a few months it stopped charging and won't turn on. When you press the power button the light flashed amber a couple of times but that he was. I returned it for repair and repair says footnotes the BIOS has been updated and it worked again. Unfortunately the person making repair sliced the top of the laptop with what seems to have been a Stanley knife, but they said nothing. I returned it and got a replacement.

Now, a few weeks later, I have exactly the same symptoms with the new 700 of Yoga. Is this a known problem with the 700 because it seems too much of a coincidence? I'll probably just ask for my money back, unless someone can tell me a miracle solution?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Just a quick follow-up. I bought a cheap compatible charger and my laptop began to charge again. In my case, it is a broken charger that has been the problem.

  • Power light blinking XPS 8900

I bought my XPS8900 a few weeks ago and immediately upgraded the memory up to 32 GB.

Everything worked fine, but then I decided to upgrade the video card to an EVGA GeForce GTX970 SSC.

This card requires a 6 and a power connector 8 pin that does not provide the power supply Dell stock. So rather that to return the video card, I have improved the power supply to a Corsair CX750M, I've read that other XPS8900 users have had success with this machine.

As others have pointed out, this PSU is a tight fit, but I could get installed it. As soon as I turned on, my trouble started.

The case and CPU fans spin, I hear the rotation of the drive upward, and I can open and close the dvd tray. So I know that the power supply provides at least a power. But I get no video, and on the top of the box, the power LED flashes amber model.

I tried to go back to the video card and power supply dell stock, but still have exactly the same problem.

I also tried unplugging the power cable and power for 30 seconds button. But still, the power light flashes orange model.

I know there is no beep codes for the 8900 XPS and the sequence of flashing orange light power is used to diagnose the problem, but I was not able to locate any reference to indicate trends.

The power light blinks a 2-7 model and repeats.

    Anyone know what this means?

    Follow-up:

I had ripped all with no luck. Well, everything except the improved memory. He had worked, so I don't think that it would be necessary to remove it. But I was wrong.

I went back to the memory of stock and the blinking orange light problem disappeared!

Then I reinstalled the new memory, and it worked too!

So I guess it was just that the memory should be seen.

Not sure if the model of 2-7 means 'Question' memory, but this would be my guess.

Since the 8900 XPS does not support beep codes, I hope that Dell will eventually publish what mean flashing light patterns.

  • iPhone 5 turned off and won't turn back on

    Hello untech,.

I see it's been a while since you have posted with us on the HP Forums.  Please, let me take a moment to say "Welcome Back".

I see that you have a problem with the printer l ' auto turn off and not turning it back on.

You happen to have the printer power cable connected to a power strip/bar?  If so, please try to connect the printers power cable directly to a wall outlet.  Here is a document that explains the problems when connected to an uninterruptible power supply/Strip/surge protector power.

The printer in the document is a LaserJet printer but this document is intended for HP products in general and only use the LaserJet printers for example.

I'll also include a document indicating when the HP printer will not be running or to respond when the power button is pressed.

If by chance the problem is not resolved after you complete the steps described, then I would say call the HP Technical Support to see all the other possibilities for you. If you call in North America, the number is 1-800-474-6836 and for all other regions, please click here: click here.

  • Aspire V5 on used to be able to. Power light blinks 5 times.

Daughter finally used the laptop on battery and ran down id by pulling it completely until the computer turns off. She plugged the power cord and it would not come when you press the power button.  Laptop has been plugged in overnight and this morning same problem - just power light flashes five times when you press the power button. This is the same behavior so plugged in to the power supply or not. I tried holding down the power button. Tried with battery removed and a/c power, but then no light at all.  I tried removing the battery and the power of the a/c, press and hold the power button for 30 seconds, then install the battery and plug in power a/c, but no difference.  I tried another a/c adapter and no difference. Any ideas?

I had an object hold down the power button on all day.  Now I plugged in the power of a/c, and it began immediately.  Problem solved.

  • laptops with battery problems and does not turn on

I get Strait to the point and say that I have 2 laptops that are causing a bit of touble.the the first is hp dv6 4023tx it worked fine one moment connected to food I have remove the power cable and its fine I turn it off leave it for about an hour and it will not power on I had a look at the error codes different and found that the code I get is an error of System Board and I'm not sure what to do about it. the other laptop is a dv3 2002tu and battery decided to die on me and I'm not sure what to do with it either. I download the wizard of battery and it gives me an OK (4) im not sure what that 4 means but it might be useful the dv3 .ps is the computer laptop im using to send these messages and get only on when plugged into an external power source.

    Hello @DBG-spas .

    Welcome to the HP Forums!

I understand your laptops have feeding problems and the battery.

If there are system errors Council you will need service on the motherboard. You can contact HP telephone support for options of repair and maintenance at 1-800-474-6836 in North America. For all other regions click here.

The question of DV3 is a little different. If the battery is not the laptop, but it works very well with the power connected, it could be the battery or on the motherboard connections that are the problem. The only way to be really sure if its in the computer or the battery is to try another battery. The bad news here is that, to try another battery, you have good enough to buy one, that may not solve the problem.

You can find the battery searching these reference numbers (according to what battery you have):

Part number of battery 9 cells, 83-Wh-530803-001
    Part number 6-cell, 55-Wh-530802-001 battery
    Part number 6-cell, 47-Wh-530801-001 battery

It is finally to if you want to make the bet or not, but you can also contact you the HP support by phone for repair on this one as well.

Sorry for the bad news, but we hope this helps.

  • Lenovo B590 Orange laptop power light flashing

    Hello

Recently, I noticed that my B590 Lenovo laptop indicator light was flashing orange. I tried to restart the notebook and by ensuring that all the plugs are secure, but nothing is indeed it. That means the power light flashes average orange?

    ~ Laila

    Hello

Just wanted to give an update on this issue, in case someone else runs into a similar situation. As I said, I'm under market entirely adapter. I found that the old ground had not been eradicated because if you go out without replacing, it leaves a gaping hole in your laptop!

I solved the problem of blinky light orange by disconnecting the battery, but leaving so much, with little electrical tape, to hold it in place that it will protect the pins bit inside battery - thanks for the link to the manual, it is also useful.

  • Sony VPL-EX100 portable projector turns off and won't turn on

I have a sony VPL-EX100 portable projector. The night last when using it suddenly closed. There is no power lights up more. There was none no warning, no message on the cleaning of the filter (which is not dirty, I checked). It is just off. It is about 1 year and 9 months. Any ideas what could be the problem or what I could check?

Found the problem. Bad power cord. Here's how I narrowed down. Hope this helps someone.

While reading the manual, it says on page 28 for symptom, "the power is not activated" it says, "If the light so the cover is not fixed securely, the projector cannot be turned on." So I re-sitting lamp and coverage and the LED on / Standby came for a few minutes and then went. So I waved the power cord slowly and the LED would come and turns off intermittently. Once I used a different cord, the project has worked well.
