  If you are on windows, and there is a problem with the file types associations, then right-click on the file and choose 'Open with'. then tell him to always use first pro for .prproj

  Thank you for taking the time to post.  You're saying that it sounds as if your hard drive is not detected.  You will need to contact the manufacturer of your PC to help with the possible hardware failure and to get copies of the system restore disk.  There is not a way to install windows without a CD or a recovery partition on your hard drive (which it appears right now that your laptop does not see).   So the trick is to instantiate a UndoItemCreator that points to the current SequenceFIle, to call BeginEdit with, as an argument, the step to insert as PropertyObjetct, before calling the InsertStep method, then call the EndEdit method. Increment the file change, add the step as PropertyObject in the TypeUsedList file and finally call CreateAndPostUndoItem method.

  We have 3 laptops at home, running 3 different versions of winsows 7... Home, Professional and Ultimate. They have in recent months ALL given intermittent problems with the USB ports. A device that worked on a port stops working. It may or may not work on another port. A week later it could very well lead again on the port that wouldn't work. This applies to all types of devices.

  A few more questions:

  Is there a USB device that you use with all three computers?

  This problem occurs with all kinds of USB devices?

  The is the problem with all the USB ports on each laptop?

  Have you tried to reinstall the USB drivers? As in, uninstall via the Device Manager, restart your PC and allowing Windows to reinstall?

  To turn off the sound for the connection / disconnection of devices, follow these steps:

  a. click Start and select Control Panel

  b. click on device sound and Audio

  c. under device sound and Audio, click its tab

  d. under program events, select the device connection and in the Strait, make scrolling the drop down for None.

  e. also repeat the same for disconnection device

  This should do the trick.

  Let us know if that helps.

  Restore point:

  At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu.

  When you have changed that, insert the Bootable disk you did in the drive and reboot.
