Large amounts of text as a file attachment or or pdf document.

Good evening!

I want to attach a file (.txt, .rtf, .doc or .pdf) to provide additional information to a database record. I wonder what is the best way to do it. It would also be nice to be able to search the document. I know I can 'the main worlds' attached to the document, but I'd rather be really able to search content.

Any Suggestions?

Thank you

Charles

InDesign CS5 and CS5.5, how can we get a large amount of text in MS Word in the pages?

I'm just looking to get started.

It's easy to get a small amount of text - I am using simple methods of "copy / paste" but I have a document which is over 70 pages in size.

I have it in MS Word format and PDF format and are seeking to use either format (not both)

    Please can someone help me?

File > Place. Go to the Word file.

Shift + click on the page of your document.

  • Importing a large amount of text in InDesign (Newbie question)!

    Hi all

I'm new to InDesign and would appreciate some advice/tips on the best way to transfer a large amount of text from Microsoft Word into an InDesign document. I was tasked to create a very simple pocket-sized book, whose content will be a series of business acronyms (700 +) and their definitions (imagine a very simple dictionary). As you can imagine there are a lot of text in the Microsoft Word document, so any advice on how to transfer everything as quickly as possible would be really useful. Or, where appropriate, it would be easier to use another program?

Can you paste/import all - or chunks-a document word at once? If I format a master page will be Adobe InDesign paste the text in the number of pages required? Or do I have to do it page by page in a Clipboard?

Of course, I don't expect InDesign to format the text perfectly on every page, I want to just throw everything at once and then go back and he put all this.

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

    Concerning

    Matthew

File > Place... and navigate to the Word file. Show Import Options to allow you to preserve the formatting of Word, or throw, or card styles styles in your document of identity.

If you have a block of text on your master page, place the cursor loaded above the area of the image on your document page and watch for the cursor change if it is surrounded by parentheses, then hold down the SHIFT key and click. If you do not have a Master frame (and more experienced users will tell you that more than 90% of the time a block of text type is more hindrence than help if you set your margins correctly), hold down the SHIFT key and click where you want the top of the first column to get started.

In both cases, ID will add pages as necessary to place the entire document and thread text across all frames. If using frames of masters, they will be linked and overrridden on the page of document automatically, otherwise, your first image will begin where you click and extend to the bottom margin and succeeding frames will fill the column guides (so talk to your margins correctly).

ID is a professional software and you really need to spend time to learn how it works. A good starting point is the help files. Another is Visual QuickStart Guide of Sandee Cohen of InDesign. If you prefer video training, Lynda.com has good content.

  • How to convert specific images on my Clipboard to text once paste the picture on my .pdf document?

Hey Adobe experts, I could really use your help.

I have some screenshots of school I pasted on OneNote. These screenshots have a large amount of text that I could use. I created a large .pDF document where I saved my notes and text. Now - how to convert the SPECIFIC images that I stick to the text document? I use the word 'Specific' here because I know I can run OCR on a blank page without any text. But how to do OCR on an image

It automatically happened a couple of times when I tried to save the document immediately after I pasted the image - when I was under "Edit PDF" I was able to edit and change the fonts of the text. But how can I do this at will? Is there a special button somewhere?

P.S. I already tried to OCR - but it's only limited to pages without already "renderable text".

I use Adobe Acrobat Pro DC; 8.1 Windows machine

    Hi SinNombre,

If you are referring to perform OCR on a page with the image and the renderable text, it is not supported. However, you can use the following workaround for the same thing:

    1. print the PDF document to Microsoft XPS Document Writer or accessing the file-> export to...-> Image-> (an example of TIFF or PNG format)

2 convert the output created in PDF format. This PDF file contains all the texts and images in the form of images.

    3. run the OCR on this PDF.

    This should solve your problem

  • How to create a button that opens the attachment (file power point attached to the pdf document)

    Hello world!

The question is in the title.

How to create a button in Acrobat Pro to open a file attached to PDF?

I have moved your question to one of the forums of Acrobat, first.

If the target file is not a PDF file you need to use a script to do it. The structure of the script would be something like this:

    this.exportDataObject ({cName: "Name of the attachment.ppt file", nLaunch: 2});

  • CC in Photoshop using large amounts of memory with no file open

    Hello

I'm having a problem with the CC of Photoshop last updated who introduced the starting workspace.

The issue I'm having is that Photoshop is suck a non-pieuse amount of memory even when it is not an open file. Here is a screenshot to illustrate this:

    photoshop.jpg

I thought that the Workspace 'start' was the cause of this memory suck and disabled. I find does not Photoshop to use this memory for no apparent reason.

Someone can help me understand why Photoshop behaves in this way and how to prevent that the program uses this memory when there is not all the files open within the program?

    Thank you

    James

That's when you start Photoshop, or have you been using Photoshop to process documents and have save and close so now them nothing is open in Photoshop?

If you have used Photoshop and Photoshop was in need of more memory to work on your documents and distributed.  Photoshop is programmed to manage the resources it allocates your system. Photoshop will return any memory allocated to word processing document until you close Photoshop.  Photoshop will reuse memory is allocated and now manages.

When you close Photoshop. Photoshop will return all memory and scratch disk space than that allocated to your operating system. I use the workspace of departure.  When I open Photoshop, I see using Photoshop like 761 MB of Ram.  I create a document and Photoshop is now handle 13 GB of my highest RAM, I never saw him use was close to 30 GB, which is close to the limit, I have set my preferences. I closed that very large, much later than the document so everything is now open in Photoshop is my Clipboard document, I have two screen Capture layer and will have 3 layers of screen capture.   You can see Photoshop working together is still 13 GB.

Note You can use the Edit > purge > point and Photoshop will return it manages resources.    I drove CC 2015 to use 27 GB of Ram.  When I used Edit > Purge > all I received a warning message that it can not be canceled if you continue. I have Photoshop do the purge by the use of Photoshop Ram went from 27 GB to 1.9 GB.

  • Help display a large amount of text in a single slide

    Hello

I met a few cases need to display a lot of text in a single text or slide box.

In the example below, I want the diagram on the left to be interactive, so when the user clicks on each of the blue boxes a text box appears that displays additional information. The problem is I don't have enough room to display some short bullet points and need to display more information.

Trying to think of ways to show a lot of content in a limited space. Does anyone have any ideas of how I could do this?

    Thank you

    Ross

Use Interaction of text instead of a form of text scrolling or legend. Or, a link to a pdf file in the correct format that you open in a separate window. Legends of text and the interaction that I'm talking about are much more limited regarding formatting.

  • Second, try questioning: I inserted a text box in my PDF document, but it is not 'push' as I type a paragraph. I can't understand how to configure for larger amounts of text.

It looks like little to my question above - party text disappears at the end of the text box. Creation of PDF files

Never mind - I thought about it.

  • Open zip files attached to my PDF

    Hello

in our company we are archiving old Lotus Notes mail - in databases with Acrobat Standard XI in PDF format that works very well. All attachments of mail will then find in the created PDF file.

However, we only are able to open attachments .zip from the file PDF. Other accessories such as .docx or .xlsx are accessible without problem.

I already read this has something to do with the philosophy of Adobes security which prohibits potential dangerous file types. But if I am the creator of the PDF including attachments then I want to and need to open my attachments.

So my question is: are there workarounds or official means to get access to my zip attachments? Such as changing the settings during the creation or extraction of attachments using other PDF software?

    Kind regards

    Florian

Unfortunately, there is nothing you can do in the PDF file that you create. This is a security feature that should be set on the installation of drive of recipients.

    Google search for cDefaultLaunchAttachmentPerms

    Specifically, http://www.adobe.com/devnet-docs/acrobatetk/tools/AdminGuide/preferences.html and http://www.adobe.com/devnet-docs/acrobatetk/tools/Wizard/attachments.html

  • How can I get a drop-down text box as a form of my PDF document that I send for signature using EchoSign?

When I create a document using a template from my library, I find that all of the text I included in the text box is scrollable and visible, but after the signing, users are not able to scroll the text and cannot see what is visible in the text box itself.

    Hello Erin,.

I think that you have added the text field and you filers or adding default values (more than the size of the text field). You must make sure that the length of the text field is appropriate in order to fit all the text inside. If you enter more text that the size of the field, then the rest of the text would be cut.

    Kind regards

  • How do you reduce the file size of a PDF document in version 11 (MAC)?

I use a mac and I just want to know how to reduce the size of PDF file in version 11 of the Acrobat Reader software. Thank you! -Katy

    Hello

Reader can be used only to display files pdf so you can not perform any operation on it.

If you have Acrobat, then you can go to Acrobat > save as other > reduced pdf file

You can also go to Acrobat > save as other > optimized pdf and then click on "Use of space Audit" button to know what takes up space in the pdf file and adjust accordingly.

    Kind regards

  • Application of large amount of copy character styles

    Hello!

I am trying to apply character Styles to a large amount of copy and I can't understand it. I find tutorials on how to create them and use them, but I don't want to have to search all my text to style "italic". I hope that all makes sense. I thought that there was a way to apply a character Style to the text easily, but I can find no longer.

I want to apply a character Style to some words in a large amount of text, and then apply Styles to a paragraph in the text box. actually not to change Styles of character to the breast.

Does anyone know how to do this? Looks like it should be so simple!

    Thanks in advance!

    L.

Is already italic text? If it is you can do a find/change GREP for. + and set the Format to find for italics, and then set the format change on your italic character style and change all. You should do this on a copy of the doc for safety.

I would like to create large lines of text inside each files,.

and then convert it into pdf files,

    How can I do?

y does it have that a java script can do?

    you do just that,

    -Open

    -the textual elements of loop

    -make the contours

    -Save to PDF

    -Repeat

If you are not familiar with the scripts, try to save an Action, it can work.
