CC in Photoshop using large amounts of memory with no file open

Hello

I'm having a problem with the CC of Photoshop last updated who introduced the starting workspace.

The issue I'm having is that Photoshop is suck a non-pieuse amount of memory even when it is not an open file. Here is a screenshot to illustrate this:

photoshop.jpg

I thought that the Workspace 'start' was the cause of this memory suck and disabled. I find does not Photoshop to use this memory for no apparent reason.

Someone can help me understand why Photoshop behaves in this way and how to prevent that the program uses this memory when there is not all the files open within the program?

Thank you

James

That's when you start Photoshop, or have you been using Photoshop to process documents and have save and close so now them nothing is open in Photoshop?

If you have used Photoshop and Photoshop was in need of more memory to work on your documents and distributed.  Photoshop is programmed to manage the resources it allocates your system. Photoshop will return any memory allocated to word processing document until you close Photoshop.  Photoshop will reuse memory is allocated and now manages.

When you close Photoshop. Photoshop will return all memory and scratch disk space than that allocated to your operating system. I use the workspace of departure.  When I open Photoshop, I see using Photoshop like 761 MB of Ram.  I create a document and Photoshop is now handle 13 GB of my highest RAM, I never saw him use was close to 30 GB, which is close to the limit, I have set my preferences. I closed that very large, much later than the document so everything is now open in Photoshop is my Clipboard document, I have two screen Capture layer and will have 3 layers of screen capture.   You can see Photoshop working together is still 13 GB.

Note You can use the Edit > purge > point and Photoshop will return it manages resources.    I drove CC 2015 to use 27 GB of Ram.  When I used Edit > Purge > all I received a warning message that it can not be canceled if you continue. I have Photoshop do the purge by the use of Photoshop Ram went from 27 GB to 1.9 GB.

Yes, in most cases. If it is not in your actual embed code, you will need to be added to the script that uses the code. There are literally hundreds of form manages the codes out there on the web, it would be impossible to tell you exactly where it needs to be added. I have 2 computers with Microsoft update by using a large amount of RAM.  Wuauclt.exe and svchost.exe eat so much memory that do not complete the updates.  This happened for a few weeks and have just been told.  I have reset the updates that did not help.  I disabled Microsoft Updates which seems to fix the problem.  A system has 512 MB of RAM and Norton AV, the other has 1 GB of RAM and NOD32.

    Hi Chris,

    Method 1:

First of all I suggest you enable Microsoft Updates for your computer. An analysis online for your computer from the link given below, because this can be a problem if your computer is infected by viruses or malware.

  • Spooler SubSystem App process in Windows consumes a large amount of memory

    Hello

I have HP B110a (all in a single combo)

    The system is Windows 8.1

Drivers - HP's new web site.

There is no problem of instalation and connection via USB and wireless.

But I noticed a problem with the Wi - Fi - process Spooler SubSystem App (spoolsv.exe) consumes a large amount of RAM memory, it has even 1, 5 GB! I note that the C:\Windows\System32\spool\PRINTERS catalog is empty - it happens when the printer is in sleep mode, not printing or scanning.

Problem does not occur for the USB connection.

Any advice? I think that this is a problem in the printer driver.

I will be grateful for your help, because I can't use all the features of the device.

    Best regards, Masson

    Hi man,

I understand that you have all the features of your HP B110a. I recommend that you use printing HP and doctor Scan.

HP printing and doctor Scan is a free utility (tool) that allows to quickly solve common printing, scanning and connectivity problems. HP recommends that you run the tool every time that you need to solve a problem.

Printing and scanning doctor diagnoses and resolves common printing, scanning and connectivity problems, including:
  • audiodg.exe uses extreme amounts of memory and is a memory leak

In my version of Win7, I noticed that the audiodg.exe problem since the days of Vista as posted here http://blogs.msdn.com/larryosterman/archive/2007/01/31/what-is-audiodg-exe.aspx have not been resolved to the extent of the audiodg.exe is concerned. I am exceeding 980 mb after that a few hours of computer work on my system and the CPU (3 hearts) gets POUNDED by this process later. Once I have kill the audiodg.exe in my system task manager becomes very fast and catchy as it should be. However, I lose all sound.

I have a card his Creative Labs X - Fi Xtreme with the latest drivers for Windows 7.

Why has this file and its inability to free the memory that should not have been treated for Windows 7? allocation of 980 mb on a 4 GB system for this driver file is ridiculous! I don't like how many bells and whistles your soundcard uses, it is an astronomical amount of memory it consumes and refuses to release back to the system.

ALT-tab between applications once this process is killed becomes as sensitive and night on my system.

    PLEASE FIX THIS FILE!

I don't buy a preconfigured PC because they never are good imo. I have a Gigabyte mobo, 4 GB of memory Corsair (Dominator), graphics card Sapphire Radeon ATI 3870, Coolermaster HAF 932 case, 720 processor Phenom II AMD and Creative XFi Xtreme card sound w/Windows 7 drivers. All the drivers are always up-to-date for all. No overclocking (yet) done. Windows 7 Pro version version too.

I'll take a look at this link, but IMO there is a serious issue with the code in the audiodg.exe since Vista process that has not yet been fixed. Some ppl of things on report items is:

    (1) system response extremely slow when alt-tabbing between applications because of the audiodg.exe process. (I've noticed this myself).
    (2) sound recording causes gaps in the audio file created in the same period of 11ms audiodg.exe takes to dump its worker threads. (I have not checked myself that I have no noise, but this gentleman here can attest to this fact here .)
    (3) use of the extremely exorbitant memory and memory leaks the audiodg.exe. (I've noticed myself and he checked with almost 1 GB of memory used on the file audiodg.exe)

I think your link above can be a good solution for this problem of using memory thank you (unless of course your Creative card uses Dolby Digital Live) to find but other issues (1 and 2) should always be addressed to people who have noticed them on this forum and others. I wll contact creative labs and pin them down on resources from misuse or from the memory of this asap services!

The related solution will not work if you are using Ventrilo (I have use a lot) so I'll also contact Creative as to what may be a problem with their services and how they interact with the file subsystem audiodg.exe.

  • JDeveloper integrated WebLogic Server consumes large amounts of memory

    Hello

    Fusion Middleware Version: 11.1.1.7

    WebLogic: 10.3.6.0

    JDeveloper Build JDEVADF_11.1.1.7.0_GENERIC_130226.1400.6493

    JDK: Sun JVM (1.6) 64-bit

O/s on the Machine running JDeveloper: Windows XP 64-bit

Memory on the Machine running JDeveloper: 8GB

I use the following settings in the my WLS integrated setDomainEnv.cmd file to manage the size of heap.

    -Xms256m-Xmx1024m - XX: CompileThreshold = 8000 - XX: PermSize = 256 m - XX: MaxPermSize = 512 m

Run a page simple jspx containing ADF task flows results in use of heap around 400 MB when listening via jconsole.  After completing the re-execution of the page (right click-> run) the memory used by java process continues to grow, but the use of heap does not change.  Although the definition of a maximum segment size of 1 GB, the java process regularly consume more than 2 GB of memory on the computer when monitored via the Task Manager.

When the java process memory arrives at this size it is not possible to stop the WLS integrated with JDeveloper, the terminate function is simply suspended, and the java process must be killed in Task Manager.  In addition this behavior causes high memory virtual page files accumulate on the machine (> 5 GB) that finally kills performance.

Can anyone offer an overview of this behavior?

The Sun HotSpot JVM memory is split into 3 areas of memory (Java Heap, heap and native heap PermGen):

Java Heap space - HotSpot VM ~ models Support of Java EE

"PermGen" means 'Permanent Generation', which comes from the fact that this segment is never garbage collected (i.e. the memory of objects created in this heap Java never came out). The JVM creates one objects that should not die, for example instances of class and class method. Every time that you run the application, a new instance of the Web application is deployed on the server. Each new instance of the application has its own class loader, which causes the JVM create new instances of the class class and method in the PermGen space. As has been said, the segment memory PermGen is never garbage collected, so the memory occupied by instances of class and method of the previous application instance is not released. If you redeploy (for example, execution of JDev) a large number of times, the PermGen space will get finally out of memory and the application server hangs.

    -Xms256m-Xmx1024m - XX: PermSize = 256 m - XX: MaxPermSize = 512 m

Although the definition of a maximum segment size of 1 GB, the java process regularly consume more than 2 GB of memory on the computer when monitored via the Task Manager.

You have specified a lot of Java 1 GB, but there are also a bunch of PermGen separated from 512 MB. Also the JVM consumes little native memory for the native heap, and the process of the JVM itself needs some native memory to launch and run. All this had formed the value of 2 GB that you saw in the Manager of tasks of your machine.

  • Firefox uses massive amounts of memory (up to 2 GB and more)

Firefox uses massive amounts of Ram, even when I have a tab open. It uses so much sometimes that my entire system freezes and crashes FF. I tried saving, deactivated all my plugins, but without success.

Create a new profile as a test to see if your profile is the source of the problems.

See "basic troubleshooting: a new profile:

There may be extensions and plugins installed by default in a new profile, so check that in "tools > Modules > Extensions & Plugins" in case there are still problems.

If this new profile works then you can transfer files from the old profile to the new profile, but make sure not to copy corrupted files.

  • Can someone use DNG Converter 8.3 with ARW files?

Just 8.3 Converter DNG installed on my MAC running Mavericks and it installed and works OK.  Problem is that I wanted to convert Sony ARW files to DNG of my A7R.  Adobe says support for A7R but when I select a directory containing ARW files they are all grayed out.  Anyone got this working?  I am doing something stupid?

Since you are talking about the standalone DNG converter, you choose the folder, but you can double-click the file. If you simply select the folder, then click on convert after you set the other options as you want them then it should work.

No, it's just not how it works. A few things will always use the scratch disk and regardless of memory real use PS for example will always be reserve enough space in the zero file as soon as you open a picture. This could get into an argument without end, so it would be better if for everyone's peace of mind, you have accepted things simply as they are.

  • The amount of memory on PCIe-1430

    Hello

I was wondering how much onboard memory is present on the cards PCIe-1430. Data is transferred directly to the Board of Directors on the host memory or is there an intermediate FIFO? If there is a FIFO, what is its depth?

    Thank you!

    Hi zyl7,

Thnaks for posting on the forum of the national Instrumetns.

You will find here information memory the PICe-1430.

The memory on these maps is irrelevant. Some perhaps on-board memory to be used by each Board of Directors, but in almost all cases, this amount of memory shipped is useless for the end user, because boards use DMA to immediately transfer the image to the RAM of the computer data. The jury (due to the PCI Express bus) frame grabber is able to transfer all the image data the computer RAM via a DMA transfer, thus eliminating the need for a large amount of memory shipped almost immediately. The real limitation with these frame grabber boards broadband are 32-bit operating systems (e.g. Windows XP). 32-bit operating systems restrict the amount of less than 4 GB RAM, which is only 6.5 seconds of data to the total bandwidth of 680 MB/s.
