(In the past I could simply click on the Firefox in the taskbar, and restored Firefox icon where I left last.)

  This can happen when the video player (Flash plugin) has focus.
  In this case the plugin consumes all key presses.
  You will need to click with the mouse on the page or in the UI to work keyboard shortcuts.

  You can try to start Firefox in Mode safe to see if Firefox works correctly without error? You can start Firefox in Mode safe below:

  I would uninstall and reinstall it if you think it will solve the problem. I updated Aurora again because this problem started and it remains broken. It is a system of XP with SP3

  PS: I have two other windows with a XP and the other Windows 7. When I had the problem on my primary XP System I stopped to make updates to other systems. Today I updated the two other systems with the latest Auora (skip one or two updates) and both work very well.

  Have you tried to start Firefox in Mode safe? Key 'shift' startup of Firefox. If it doesn't happen in Mode without failure, you should read the extensions, themes and problems of hardware acceleration to resolve common troubleshooting Firefox problems.

  Problem with addon, TabUtilities. After that closing a tab, the browser always focuses on the far right tab REGARDLESS of what I have select(or unselect) in the three boxes under catch on the tab in the settings. I even tried to change different values in 'extensions.tabutils.selectOnClose' in topic: config. Nothing seems to have an effect. I'm putting TabUtilities to focus on the last tab visited after closing a tab. In other words, focus to the tab containing the link that I opened a new window with.   CTRL-W closes the last tab. On my Windows XP machine, I get a blank window well. It's like Windows and Excel, you can close all pages without leaving the application.
  On my Windows XP Professional system, it closes Firefox. Not good. I won't close until I hit Alt + F4.
