• Add HKLM key during installation MSI for tracing

  Is it possible to add a HKLM key during installation MSI? I need it to follow the machines on which is installed the virtual app for verification reasons.

  The only one I currently see is to open the msi file using a tool such as sage and add the key manually. Is there another way to solve this problem?

  Not sure if it solves your problem, but the .msi files generated by ThinApp are based on c:\Program ThinApp\Template.msi of VMware. If no additions you make to Template.msi will also show up in the generated .msi file.

• F4180 - fatal error during installation - MSI.dot4wrp40 on Windows 7

  What is the latest tips or help on the installation of an all-in-one HP F4180 device software.

  2 days ago, I bought an HP computer brand new that works under Windows 7 64-bit. It is essentially provided although I uninstalled Norton and installed Microsoft Security essentials. I am now trying to move on from my old XP computer devices and I stuck F4180 all-in-one printer, scanner, copier...

  I didy plug my F4180 on the new computer. He downloaded the drivers and I can print. However when I just then try to install the full software on your Windows 7 Web site that would allow me to use the scanner, then I get a 'fatal error' and reference MSI.dot4wrp40. When I look further into the details, I see that the installation has no "windows that install Service could not be accessed. MSIInstall failure of 1603.

  Since then I unplugged the device, run the uninstall_L2 and the uninstall_L3 from the ccc directory. Looking for a hpzsetup.exe.txt to rename (not found), looked for the two files (another article on the forums) and those not found. I applied the patch from HP for the upgrade of Vista and run it with no visible effect, I found a file called twainfix.exe and run that, once more with no visible effect. I am full of ideas.

  Just to close this thread. I contacted HP Support andthey suggests stuff that I had already tried. However, I noticed that my system was not updated Office Service Pack 1. Windows Update failed to apply the service pack. I downloaded Office 2007 SP2 and installed myself. This installation has failed, but when I started the software, it says that it's SP2. I ran Windows Update again, and she observes a load more fixes for Office 2007. I got him to do the updates and failures.   It is possible, that there is a certificate problem.  XP SP2 does not support the latest cryptographic technology necessary to sign the binary installers.  SP3 has this support. XP is no longer supported by Microsoft, and I do not know if you will be able to find an installation of SP3.

  I just got a new system and I am trying to install Workstation 7.1.2 (trial) on this subject. System is running Win 7 Professional 64 bit on a processor intel I5 (couldn't find anywhere if the processor is actually supported, but I think it is).

  I get the error that says "the C:\*.* MSI failed.

  I did some research and in vain the following solutions:

  -run the file directly from c:\ (as administrator)

  -changed the name of the installer to something simple (setup.exe, buggy.exe).

  -extract the /e *.exe file and tried to start the installer directly

  -changed the location of the temporary file in c:\temp

  -Run the *.exe/z "action"="install".

  -disable UAC

  -re-downloaded and tried new

  -Downloaded the file smaller and tried everything again

  I'm quite at my limit of frustration right now, so I thought maybe something had this figured out problem. Most of the posts here point to what I tried.

  I have attached the log file in case someone noticed. I noticed a lot of messages "access denied to the LUA environment...". ». Other lines said that he could not find "eclipse.exe '...

  I appreciate any idea on getting through this.

  Have you had an older version before by chance? I think I saw a cleaning too listed in the downloads. Make sure that your antivirus and security software is disabled also. Which might be interfearing with the installation. It might be interesting to try the cleaning tool before attempting to install another.

  I guess for the version 10133, you would 10131 prerequisite installation and application of a patch for 10133.

  For 10134, the only way is to install 10131 and apply a patch 10134 on it.
