latest version of iOS iPhone vs iOS iTunes latest version

I have a 5 s iPhone that currently has iOS installed 9.2.  I have a MacBook Pro with Mac OS X 10.7.5.  When I open iTunes on the MacBook Pro, it is said that the iPhone is updated with iOS 9.2.  The iPhone has an available update to iOS 9.3.1.  Why is there a difference between what the iPhone think may be the latest version of iOS from what think the iTunes MacBook Pro?

iOS9 on a mobile device requires iTunes 12.3 or higher, which in turn requires a computer running OSX 10.8.5 or higher.  Update of the system only checks the updates for the current version of the system you run, but that itself can be updated.  It may or may not be possible to upgrade your computer to the system requirements. Find your computer on the web site of http://www.everymac.com model and near the bottom of the specification of the system section, he will tell what versions of the operating system, it is able to run. If you can not run a newer system, you will not be able to sync this phone to your current computer. If she can run 10.8.5 or higher, you can either buy a download for Apple OSX 10.8 Mountain Lion code online, or you can try to install the free El Capitan OSX 10.11.  El Capitan can run slower on older machines and require the additional purchase of RAM.  Making a big jump in versions of system is also more likely to affect the old software.

If you have any generation of PPC software which works under OSX 10.6 it is not supported in later versions of the system.

A small number of people have been very fortunate to be able to update iOS9 without OSX 10.8 + If you're running this configuration I would not insist your chance, leave well alone.

  • I'm on Windows XP and I want to connect to my 5s (iOS 9.3) iPhones to my iTunes

Its my first time to encounter a problem with my iPhone. So, I've just updated my iPhone to iOS 9.3.1 5s. And I've been using iTunes 11 (since my first iPhone a iPhone 4 and I got stuck in the iOS 7). Then 4 months ago I traded for a 5s in iOS iPhone 9 so I updated my iTunes 12.1 (I think that was it) and it worked very well and the last time that I have synced with this is before I updated my iPhone to iOS 9.3 (specifically last March 18, 2016). I've been busy at school for a while, so I simply ignored my iPhone telling me to 'back-up '. Yesterday I wanted it back up to my iTunes but when I try to sync it and now its been, he told me that my iPhone requires the latest version of iTunes, but I can't run it since im stuck with my PC under Windows XP... IM really desperate to sync my iPhone to my iTunes with always using Windows XP please help...

You are in a bit of a problem. For iOS 9.3, you need a recent version of iTunes. And turn to a recent version of the operating system. In this case, the bare minimum in a PC is Windows 7. No way around it.

I was in similar trouble last year. My Mac has a version of OS X that couldn't handle iTunes 12.3, which was necessary for iOS 9.2. I ended up having to upgrade to the latest version of OS X, then the latest version of iTunes, and now things are cool again.

  • I backed up my iPhone 3GS on iTunes. Back up seemed to go OK. iTunes then prompted me to update the iOS that I did. The phone then crashed. I did a factory restore. The backup that I did was not there. Can I recover the loss upward in anyway?

I backed up my iPhone 3GS on iTunes. Back up seemed to go OK. ITunes then prompted me to update the iOS that I did. The update failed. My phone broke. The only option available was to restore to factory settings I've done. The back up I had made was not available for restore. It contains precious family photos and videos. Is anyway to recover the lost or any part of it from my PC Backup? Any help would be appreciated. Best wishes Giles

If you go to iTunes and watch your backups, you don't see one that was made today? Did you see an indication of the backup was not successful? What version of iOS is the device that you have been asked to update? It was not an iOS for the iPhone 3GS update in a while. Regarding the photos and videos, you had never taken the time to import them on the computer?

Most likely, what you found, is that the iTunes version is the latest available for your operating system.

The latest version of iTunes is 12.4.3.  This version requires at least OS X 10.8.5 or later version, or Windows 7 or later version.

If your iTunes version is earlier than 12.4.3, it will probably not recognize your 6s performance iPhone iOS 9.

If you do not have the required operating system, get first.  Then download from iTunes

When I try to restore/sync my iphone to my itunes (first time I did it because it's a new phone - not new so I have no guarantee Apple).

I have no problems with the internet, only the problem of the iphone/itunes. Reset the internet protocol allows, as says apple? It is not sensible, but if I decide to do, it will cause me problems internet, if in fact it wasn't the question in the first place?

I have a Windows PC with iTunes 12.3.3 (latest version) and iOS iPhone 6s 9.3.1

Struggled recently with iTunes think I have music on my iPhone when I don't really have the music on my phone, where the name "ghost files". I tried several other sites have suggested to do such as:

    • Download iFunbox and deleting files ghost
    • Delete all the music on the iPhone via settings > general > use > music and remove all the
    • Reset iPhone, worked, but only temporarily
    • Using another cable from Apple lightning
    • Download and run iExplorer

Also posted a topic before, that brought me to the awareness that the audio files are on my iPhone but not appearing is not in the music app. Please read through this topic, I gave a lot of General information here that's not going to be written on this topic.

So I just spent the last 2 hours synchronize music on my iPhone and just got "erased".

I checked iTunes my iPhone Summary tab at the bottom, and it shows all the data for the files of music, which is very weird. I have since tried the music I want on my phone via iTunes, but it is not just sync to sync. iTunes behaves as if the files are already on my iPhone.

A final problem that can have an impact on the music that is on iTunes next not all but some of the songs that I used on my iPhone have a! on the inside of a circle to the left of the song.

  • the last IOS installation froze my iphone 6 and iTunes says that it needs to be restored to factory settings.

Install the last IOS froze my iphone 6. iTunes shows it must have installed at the factory. How can I back up all my data?

You will get the option to "update" only when force you it into recovery mode. you might get lucky. If you cannot update or restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support

If she needs a complete restoration to factory settings then get what you can from iCloud and all other internet accounts that you use.

Synchronize what you can save on your computer also.

You can re - download apps etc for free, but if you do not have a return to the top, then you can only look at the expensive data recovery options

If you do not have to restore as new then make sure to run iCloud back ups or regularly back up on iTunes before you do updates in the future.

  • Transfer music to new IOS / ITunes install via iPhone?

How can I transfer all my music, photos etc. of my phone and my iPad for the new ITunes without losing their? Free programs or advice? Thank you

    Not sure what you mean.

Do you not store everything on your computer and/or cloud service?

You should. Nothing should be stored on your iPhone only.

Synchronization of music is a way - computer to iPhone.   The exception is iTunes purchases: file > device > transfer purchases

You need to import your photos to your computer regularly, as you would any digital camera.

  • IOS iTunes Remote App will support Apple music?

In recent years we have used a Mac as a media server running iTunes controlled by the iOS app with multiple speakers airplay throughout the condo. Often, sometimes with less satisfactory results, including frequent falling output and often pregnant airplay of iHome requiring a reset.

When the Apple music came out we have signed with enthusiasm, because, you know, everything Apple 'just works' together. Only, the remote iTunes iOS app indeed does not yet support Apple's music. Yes I know I can 'add music' my library, but all the music discovery needs to be done on iOS or OS X. But hey, looks like the remote app has least support for the Radio Apple... uh, oops, not with this latest version.

Now it feels like the final straw... Sonos integrated music Apple support now before remote App. Apple own, Question is, is anyone know if Apple intends to add support for Apple's music for the iOS client application?

I guess I do not understand your question completely. The remote supports all the features as Apple TV iTunes playlist. Make sure you have 'Home Sharing' enabled in iTunes preferences and on the remote app.

What about adding music or playlists and others, use you iTunes and the music for this. ITunes of photo and music as a CD drive giant and the Remote App as your remote control. Once you have loaded your music on your "giant CD player' using the remote for playback, Start, Stop, search, Play artist, play by playlist, etc.
