Launch Firefox on startup with Windows 10

How can I make Firefox will automatically start up when I turn on my computer? At the moment it takes forever to start and I would like to go there as soon as I turn on the machine. I use Windows 10. Thanks in advance.

Hi MontgomeryS, like previous versions of windows win10 has an autostart folder in the startmenu, where you can place shortcuts to programs - those who will be launched as soon as you connect to your account.

Press windows + R and open %appdata%\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup - then open the right file. You can then right-click on the icon of firefox on your desktop, copy it and then paste them into the startup folder.

As far as I know, Firefox runs on all variants of Windows 7. Firefox works better with a lot of memory, so if your system has 2 GB of memory, you may be limited in the number of windows and tabs you can open simultaneously before things get bogged down compared to a system that has 4 GB of memory.

If I download firefox it will affect all the files I have on my computer? Will this affect my windows mail?

As a web browser, you can configure Firefox to your default program to open web pages and links. If you do this, while some icons may change, for example, links to web pages can change to an icon of Firefox. In addition, Firefox has a built-in PDF reader, but you can still use Adobe Reader or another program to read PDF files if you want.

Are you using Windows Live Mail or another standalone program to retrieve messages? Firefox be involved with it because these programs to get the mail directly, not not using your browser. But if you make Firefox your default for links Manager, when you click on a link in the e-mail software, it will open in Firefox instead of Internet Explorer.

    Other things:

    (1) attention to the download links at random in search engine results. You can get Firefox here (scroll to your preferred language):

    https://www.Mozilla.org/Firefox/all/

    (2) I'm sure after Firefox is started the first time, you will have many questions. The program should give you a little tour of routine, and you can use our support articles for more information: https://support.mozilla.org/products/firefox

    (3) you must install IE11 because there are still a few sites that use patented technologies and are not displayed in Firefox, such as Windows update

  • What is the latest version of Firefox, which works with Windows ME?

We recently had a portable older Gateway that we use only as an internet point. Unfortunately, it is currently running Windows ME and I don't even know if it has all the technical features to be upgraded (and certainly not for Vista, which is the only thing that we have an installation disc for). The vehicle currently has Firefox 2.0.0.20, which of course contains many security holes and is not compatible with most of the newer plugins. What is the best version of Firefox that works with Windows ME, and it is still available for download? Thank you!

Sorry, Firefox 2.0.0.20 is the last version made for WinME.

  • 'check' drive for consistency at startup with Windows 7

    Hello

Since upgrading from Windows Vista to Windows 7, my computer has been running a process to "verify the drive for consistency" before the login screen. Sometimes I can get out by pressing a key, but often the program is not responding. So far no problems have been revealed through the disk check.

How can I disable the process?

    Thank you

Check here and see if one of the two fixed works for you.  I would try the premiera first, because it does not involve the registry and seems simple enough.

  • At startup, Firefox still displays my windows and labels last time, even though I have selected the option to view my homepage.

Question: Although my option is to show my home page at startup, Firefox still displays my my windows and tabs from last time.

    More details:
I use Microsoft Surface Pro 3 with Windows Pro 10 and Firefox v 40.0.2
I chose option to start Firefox to display my home page. Please see attached screenshot. The homepage is the Mozilla Firefox Start Page. However I tried other sites such as www.cognizant.com, www.cnn.com.

I also tried to start by selecting a blank page. Always on starting Firefox displays the windows and tabs from last time.

I also deleted the (renamed) prefs.js file and restarted firefox. This step NOT solved this problem.

    Help, please. Thank you

You can check if you have a user.js file in the Firefox profile folder that affects the pref browser.sessionstore.resume_session_once true value.

The user.js file will be present if you or a other software created this file and normally will not present.

You can check its contents with a text editor (right click: 'Open with'; do not double-click).
The user.js file is read whenever Firefox is started and initializes the preferences to the specified value in this file, so the preferences set via user.js can be changed temporarily for the current session.

You can remove the user.js file if you do not create this file yourself.

You can use this button to go to the current Firefox profile folder:

Windows hides certain default file extensions.
Among them .html and .ini and .js and .txt, and you can see only a file name without file extension.
You can check the file extension (type) in the file properties in Windows Explorer via the context menu.
