  If I have some business rule with my cost center selected by guest of run time. Now, if 2 users of costcenter even launch the business rule by selecting the same costcenter to the
  
  same time wil that affect the run time for the business rule?
  
  In short if 2 users launch the same calculation script on the essbase database which will affect the duration of watering calc or exactly how would the same calc launched at the same
  
  run time by 2 other user?

  This will affect the schedule of calculation, the reason is that calculation is trying to calculate twice on the same set of data to specific blocks for the cost center.

  This can be overcome by lowering LOCKBLOCK parameters in the cfg file or by calling the LOW VALUE of LOCKBLOCK of the BR.

  Basically Essbase calculates twice by the same group of data, but the impact on the calendar can be more than double in a single pass of the BR will lock the blocks makes the other BR is having to calculate. A BR expected as one computes and vice versa, it is the permutation of the blocks which will affect the calendar.

  This seems to be a mistake because of the name of Member formulated with the concatenation of the current Member of the dimension account with "ARPM.

  Check if the membername formulated in the formula corresponds with the name of the Member present in the outline.

• How to generate an event log custom whenever a business rule is launched

  I searched on google, OTN and various blogs, nothing helps. That's what I want to do: I want to write a custom automatically log some business rule is launched each time. I want the paper to tell me:
  1. which user ran the newspaper
  2. what day and time the business rule has been run.
  3. what Dimension Member has been used as a setting
  
  I just need some general advice on how I would go all this.

  I just checked hbrlaunch.log - he has everything:
  * Date/time began
  * Name of the application
  Plan of Type name
  * Name HBR
  * Username HBR
  * Username Essbase (who always seems to be the name of the user who owns the soft of planning - hypadmin or something similar to that)
  * Values for rtp and they then lists the dimension and the value

  This assumes, of course, Hyperion Business Rules, but that's what the OP said he used.

• Business rule to launch using the command line

  I tried lauching business rule by using the command line utility CalcMgrCmdLineLauncher.cmd. The syntax I used is \Planning\planning1 > CalcMgrCmdLineLauncher.cmd A:Samp U:admin D:PL /R:AGGR F:Agg.xml. I get the following error when executing the command-
  
  FATAL error: Cannot run getRTPs(). Cannot find the rule AGGR deployed in the type of plan PL in the repository

  I selected the correct application of planning in the locations tab and assigned administrator privileges on the tab of the business rule access privileges.   Please let me know the reason for this error...

  No, you can use the CmdLnLauncher utility located in the installation of Regional service directory, it will be under eas\console\bin

  To get instructions on how to use it, then take a look on-- can not run business with bat file rule

  Can I ask you how can members on the lines past their value at the prompt of the execution in a business rule? I checked a post above saying that this can be done but it was 2010 any chance that there is a way now to do?

  You can do this if you use a Menu to launch rules in planning, any POV associated with the clicked cell is passed in the SPTR

  in the screen shot here you can see, I accessed the menu of the cell in red, I had selected a cell in the grid, period and year also would have been settled.

  Hyperion Planning 11.1.1.3 user with a read access to the members were able to write the data using business rules.

  Now, let me know if this has been fixed in the newer version 11.1.2.3 or still they exist.

  Not is still not corrected in 11.1.2.3 as well. And I don't think it will be close in early releases as Essbase must resolve individual access permissions which runs the rule and which would add something to the current schedule of enforcement of the rule.

  Incase there are such better rule make you a folder separated with restricted user access on them. As this is a very difficult task to check for the planning system to see what are the members in the BR has the user to access. I think that's the reason to launch access to the BRS because they are very sensitive which can make your app obsolete in terms of data.

  In environmental assessment if you right-click the rule and select "Automate the Variables to launch" you can generate xml with the guests, guests are business rule variables, void vars do not appear in this way.

  The problem here is that you are trying to assign a member string in a variable over time that is not entirely possible in the language of Script of Calc. As discussed here many times and once more recently, Calc Script does not support assignment of object type (including chain). You can only assign numerical values to the members and variables. You should try something like @Match function or if the condition for what you do. Another question in your script, it's that you use @Descendants in an equation. You must use @Descendants to restrict the boundaries of your calculation (IF (@ISMBR, FIX etc.) but not in equations.)
  To give you an idea, have a look at the example below:

  IF (@ISUDA ({UPKVendor}, Master))
  IF (@ISMBR (@descendants ((@Member (@Concatenate ("V", @Name ({UPKVendor})))

  {/Toversion} = {FromVersion};

  ENDIF

• EAS is not the crux of show business rules

  I'm in the process of validating a 11.1.2 installation Planning. Therefore, development environment, a server Essbase, any other server.
  
  One of the questions I met is my Regional service client installation does not have a node of business rules (I remains far from calculation Manager due several tales of horror from multiple sources that I have heard).
  
  However, it fact appear in the web launched version.
  
  Launched web version numbers:
  EAS 11.1.2.0.00.462
  APS 11.1.2.0.0.615
  HBR 11.1.2.0.0.722
  
  And now it gets really weird. Launched client version numbers:
  EAS 11.1.1.2.0.00.462
  APS 11.1.2.0.0.615
  HBR * 4.1.1. *
  
  Somehow my own installation got magically the latest version of the planning rules 4?
  
  Of course, it looks like that something didn't install correctly. I was able to find this thread concerning the same problem:

  P.S. I found the Setup for the Regional service log and found two errors at the end of the installation process, but I think that they are related to the writing of an icon on the desktop. This does not surprise me that this Vista laptop is locked tight.

  P.P.S. In the file easconsole-removal-hbrcfile-frtemp - stderr.log, I see the following error message:

  The system cannot find the file specified.

  So, this suggests that indeed something dead on install.

• Cannot connect to business rules

  Customer uses the planning/EAS/BR 9.3.1, when established.
  
  Business rules module is available intermittently - although rarely need to-EA through without prior problem.
  
  Recently, users have started lack of calculations normally launched by br during the recording of the declaration forms.
  
  When I tried to access ROS through EAS, an error dialog box appears with the following text:
  
  * "Error message: error access to Business Rules." The repository has not been configured, or you are not authorized to use Business Rules.*
  
  * Full detail: Detail: error instantiating class error instantiating class {0} details: null, implementation of implementing «*»
  
  Same message appears when you try to access it via the web Launcher.
  
  This response is consistent, regardless of how do register me on - title "admin" or administrative user.
  
  No changes of any kind have been made to the safety of the user, and I confirmed that the admin and admin user are properly sized (i.e. same as they have been).
  
  Of course, business rules themselves do not work.
  
  Suggestions gladly accepted to resolve, in the order of less intrusive/destroyer (i.e. stop/restart apps?, restarting the server?, etc..)
  
  If I have to resort to the re-creation of the repository, is safe to say that I will have to recreate the company rules themselves (from backup copies, of course)?

  Have you tried to restart the web application EAS, which is the first thing I would try.

  HBRs are BSO cubes only.

  You can launch HBRs four different ways (may be more or less applicable to you):
  (1) starting at EAS - it is for admins only
  (2) of SmartView
  (3) to a form of planning (I know, you're not in the planning, I simply mention it for completeness) good, technically true, but you must have a connection schedule to do this, and you said Essbase, do not intend.
  4) there is a pitcher of Web of trade rules. See: http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E17236_01/epm.1112/hbr_web.pdf

  I'll bet that #4 is what you want.

  You can certainly use against plain old HBRs Essbase BSO. It's your choice if you use graphics or improved calc scripts.

• SmartView lets admins run the Admin of business rules version?

  Just set the security on the business rule, don't give admin access to the business rule.

  You can also use the command line launcher to run batch scripts business rules, have a read of the business rules CmdLnLauncher.exe for more information.
