Layer of extra customization in 11.1.1.8 Portal

I'm working on seeded customizations MDS for some of the out-of-the-box taskflows for our WebCenter portal.

It is a 11.1.1.8 (with BP 4) Portal (formerly spaces).

Now I have some customizations I want to target a group of users, not for all users. But when I am the role of developer of personalization in JDeveloper I only seem to be able to use the site/webcenter layer and the value.

http://docs.Oracle.com/CD/E29542_01/WebCenter.1111/e27739/jpsdg_taskflows.htm#BACICGIE

Is it possible to add an additional layer of customization to a WebCenter Portal? And if so, how? 'webcenter"as the value of layer seems embedded in the WebCenter Portal Flow customization of Application tasks, without the possibility to change it, or did I miss something?

It is irrelevant that taskflow or what implementation of the class of customization.

Unfortunately, this is not supported in a 11.1.1.8 portal.

  • Page customizations do not propagate to other users

    Hello everyone,

I am facing a 'problem' when a user customizes a Webcenter portal page.
The customizations are preserved, but only for that user, as if it was a customization and not a customization...

Is there something to configure in the MDS to share customizations? What and where?
To be sure, the user customization and no customization?

    Thanks for the support.

    Vincent.

One possible reason could be that you have configured the MDS with a UserCC.
You can configure a class that will be used by the MDS which will return the name of the layer to store customizations in. By default, only the SiteCC is configured that will store the customizations in a layer that has the name of the application.
In your case, this class can be the UserCC that stores customizations in a layer with the name of the user. That might explain your behavior.

In order to change this, open the adf - config.xml in the ADF META INF file. The MDS Configuration, make sure that the SiteCC class is added to the list and remove the UserCC if its there.

If you don't see the UserCC in the list of classes of customization, then it should be something else, but depending on your behavior, it seems that the SDM is using the UserCC.

  • Try to customize login page for ASA 5505 SSL - VPN

    Nice day

I'm looking for help to customize the login page for the ssl - vpn as mentioned. When the vpn is configured, the default template allows my customers to connect with this: IMAGE 1

While trying to change the login page, I have to create a new customization without CLIENT SSL VPN ACCESS-> PORTAL-> CUSTOMIZATION file in the ASDM. When I do this and I'm trying to change the login page, it comes up with 2 forms of authentication and a fast internal password like this: IMAGE 2

How can I change the login page, I created so that users only see the fields username and password for regular as the default template?

Thank you all for your time and assistance

    Joel

    Hi Joel,

What you see is just the preview, right?

Preview displays the purpose of customization, since the password internal and the second authentication controls are the features that are activated in different parts of the configuration.

    WebVPN

    allow outside

    internal-password enable

    !

    attributes global-tunnel-group DefaultWEBVPNGroup

    secondary-authentication-server-group second_authentication_server

INFO: This command applies only to the SSL VPN - Clientless and AnyConnect.

So I recommend to assign this object of customization to a group policy and test access to the content of the specific connection profile.

    Thank you.

  • Question in-house customization ISupplier Portal

    Hello

I'm looking for some basic information on how to customize a page of the ISupplier portal.

I need to add a column to the new date for change requests an in. I have activate the link customize but totally lost how to do in this regard.

Some can please help or provide some useful pointers.

It's information page, but I can't seem to find PosViewPOPG file anywhere on the server.

    / Oracle/Apps/POS/changeorder/WebUI/PosViewPOPG 115.63.11510.2

I'm looking for what display I have to modify to add the new request of the column.

Also, how can I extend the user interface to add this column to display?

    Any help is appreciated.

    Thanks in advance.

You have to find the good VO (the one that is used to display the area of the table). If the corresponding attribute is present in the original Version, you can add with this customization. If this is not present, you will need to add that using the Substitution of the VO.

Go to this page and expand the structure of the page, and then you can see the fields corresponding to the columns of the table. Find the VO associated with this column.

You can also find details of the VO by extracting the Page of the database using JDR_UTILS. (Johny Oracle tips: OAF: JDR_UTILS)

    See you soon

  • USRP can be used as a gateway for NOR-WSN nodes

    Hello world

I use NEITHER-WSN kIT includes a gateway (9792) and of the NODES(3202,3212,3226 all programmable) NOR-WSN and I also try experiments with NOR-USRP 2921, so I thought to replace NOR-USRP 2921 of GATEWAY ETHERNET of NOR-9792 TIME REAL as it also works on the same 2.4 GHz.

USRP 2921 can act as a bridge or not? This is possible, please suggest.

    Best regards,

    Afonso Sharma

    The short answer is no.

The longer answer is that a WSN node uses a radio of fixed function with a full protocol stack.  The USRP is a generalist radio which covers a set of common frequencies, but there is no such thing as a fully functional turnkey battery.  It could be designed?  Maybe during many years-men targeted development.

The USRP is mainly used as a search feature.  Most of the research implements a small aspect of a Protocol, ususally focus on the physical or the MAC layer, then it customizes and evaluates the results.

The right solution for WSN is a WSN gateway.

  • IQEye702 driver camera

    Hello.

I'm trying to integrate an IQEye702 camera into an existing application for inspection.  I use the ethernet connector to control the device.

Who will be a better approach TCP or VISA?

    Best regards.

What is a GigE camera? If so, the best approach would be IMAQdx acquisition, which however is not free. If it's simple TCP/IP communication, I would use the TCP/IP screws because they are a little easier to use once you know them. VISA adds a layer of extra software to the overview. It's good for instrument disclosure, especially for devices with an Ethernet and RS-232, GPIB, or USB TMC connection, but if it is for a pure TCP/IP device I'm going with the TCP nodes.

  • News limited UI brightness pref

In earlier versions of AE I always kept the pref of the lightest possible UI brightness.

Having used AE CC 2014 set at the lightest gray dark for a few weeks now, I find always a lot harder to see all my elements of chronology, in general and what is selected. It seems also massively counter-intuitive to the light text on dark background. It is much more tiring / hard to read. That to me is a rare, rare design by Adobe misstep. Why they not only to expand the range of brightness while maintaining clear tones, a part of the new range? My question is if it is possible to access the preference of the inherited UI more light inside the CC 2014?

This may seem like a small quibble, but it is in fact slow down my work flow.

    Thank you all,

    CZitelli

No, the colors of the user interface are not editable beyond the cursor to brightness than you'e already aware of.

We target a update for the first half of next year which will give some extra customization. I'll share more details about it when I can.

Even before that, we release an update in December that will make some changes regarding the keyframe highlight color and a few other UI settings.

  • recommendation of Oracle asmlib or raw for 11g ASM

looking for best practice note on this subject for different OS such as linux, Solaris and windows? and how to configure?

    DBA2008 wrote:
looking for best practices note on this subject for different OS like linux, Solaris & windows? & How to configure?

You're confused raw (raw devices) with "raw + +" (block devices for raw character devices)...

    To explain...

All devices are 'rough' - even your 'C: drive ' traditional... until what it is mounted by a driver that provides access "cooked the file system.

Oracle ASM works directly with these raw devices - it must NOT be mounted by a file system driver (ASM can not use it because the camera is locked/used by this other driver). And the raw device does NOT contain a file system (ASM will open this device and destroy).

So what of the question that "raw is obsolete? It is a device driver very specific on Unix/Linux allowing a character (raw) device be used as a (raw) blocking the device. Why?

Because on older kernels do not use the direct i/o (RAW) only on (raw) and character devices, block devices. This crude device driver linked a block on a character device device, allowing direct use e/s. And direct i/o is what s/w like file systems of RDBMS and want ASM dealing with raw as oppose to the cooking devices.

So there is no such notion as ' raw devices versus AsmLib + + ". This is absurd.

AsmLib is a kernel driver that provides a layer of management for raw devices logical device. The same type of s/w delivered by default under Linux and is called Multipath.

EMC has their own patented kernel called Powerpath driver which covers essentially the same game featured.

So to use the raw devices is the standard and the standard with the ASM. The storage array or LUN from the server will be seen by the kernel of the server database as scsi devices. These devices must be put at the disposal of the DSO. There are issues such as multiple I/O paths to the SAN to address. Issues such as consistency in device name. Issues such as ownership of the device and permissions. Etc.

AsmLib can be used at this address. Is it recommended? Not really because on Linux Multipath is designed to do this work. And she does very well on the clusters of 1000 + node connected to without very seriously. He does what AsmLib and better - with the exception of being able to format a device of ASM with a label header ASM (made by ASM itself anyway to a new disk to a disk group).

So yes, there's Metalink/MoS notes that proclaim the '+' goodness + AsmLib. But this isn't a prerequisite. It is not recommended by Oracle to use as a replacement for Multipath (none of the best docs of practical Oracle I said that).

Don't forget that AsmLib is a layer of extra kernel drivers that must be loaded and configured. I don't see the use of myself and we don't use AsmLib on any of our RAC clusters. Multipath is used and it does the job and does it well.

  • should I keep my OCR in OCFS or RAW

    Hello
    as a general question
should I keep my OCR in OCFS or RAW?
How many disc OCR is usually the best, I have red we should multiplex and make 3 OCR, is the normal redundancy can give me 3 copy of OCR?

    Thanks for any input

Same question asked yesterday in the RAC forum.

My recommendation is NOT to ocfs or any other file system (cfs) cluster to store OCR and voting record. Reason: this requires that cfs s/w to load correctly prior to CRS at boot time, and it breaks down, CRS (and all its dependent services) will fail.

So, using a SFC introduced another layer of software - and the more moving parts there are, the more complex, it becomes better and the chance for things to go wrong.

Oracle 10g thought that serve instead of a CFDC has also recommended.

As Hans mentioned, the exception is ASM. With 11.2 g ASM, you can create a SFC ASM-based. ASM load also in front of the CRS, OCR and vote records available for the CRS. ASM is part of the cluster software stack and does not introduce a layer of extra software. (WARNING: haven't tried and that's what I heard in a discussion with Oracle)

  • What is the best solution of Webcenter to build an institutional Portal?

In my team, we need to build an institutional portal for our company (it's a financial services company). So, we start rating the WebCenter Suite, but I m a bit confused about its battery.

The needs of the portal is based to share dynamic content, such as news, information pages, cats/instant messages with clients, hotsites, change the skin/template/logo in run mode.

Based in this tip, I know webcenter has two main ways to do things like that, there are site webcenter and webcenter space; so, my question:

One of which are the best choice to offer this solution? Or the two working together in this case? How do you do that?

    Thank you.

    Edited by: user2043351 09/02/2012 05:37

Check if the following information is userful, copied from the site of yannick:

There have been many questions about when to use the WebCenter portal and when to use spaces WebCenter. There are specific use cases for each, and you can ask yourself a few simple questions that can help you to decide what to use. Generally WebCenter spaces is intended for intranet collaboration portals. In previous versions, spaces has been used because there is no easy way to build a portal with the WebCenter framework. Spaces was simply because it's there and that's why it has been misused a lot! Since the PS3, all good feature are out of the box available in a WebCenter portal application, then you should really watch the correct reason to use spaces or a portal. In this post, you can find a few questions that you can use to help your client or company to make the right decision. :

    (1) each user requires a personal space?
One of the features in WebCenter spaces is personal space. In this space, each user can create their own pages and put some components they want to this topic. As an administrator, you can also create pages of role of companies that can be propagated to the personal space of specific users. When you want this kind of functionality, spaces WebCenter is necessary. These features are not available in a WebCenter portal. If you want to build in portal, it will take a lot of work.

    (2) not your project requires separate groups or micro-sites?
One of the biggest features spaces is to create spaces for group. The space of each group have different pages. All the resources that you create (documents, discussions, events, lists,...) are related to the space of the group. You usually create a group for a Department, project,... to the Group of information into a coherent unit. If it's the functionality you are after, you definitely need spaces. These features are the main features of the spaces are usually among the first that you should look for.

    (3) not your project requires many customizations of the OOTB taskflows
WebCenter to customize most of the out of the box taskflows. You can rearrange items, or add your own components. The way portal and workspaces with these customizations are slightly different. For portal, it can be easier. Taskflows customization Portal is just edit some pages jsff and xml with the role of customizer. They are automatically added to your gate, so no additional steps required. With spaces, you must create a separate project and import the contents of a generates the MAR file in the MDS using WLST scripts. This can be a bit heavy when you work with large projects and not as easy to maintain as a Portal personalization.

    (4) is the focus on the development of your project?
When you set up a portal that requires a lot of custom development. If the amount of taskflows, you need to build is big and you need to do this split into several teams, it's a good idea to think using WebCenter portal instead of spaces. The reason is that the portal can be extended more easily. It is easy to separate the core portal development and the different taskflows. When you work with spaces, it's quite complicated to work as a team on the DesignwebCenterSpaces project, which is necessary to extend the spaces with additional taskflows.

    (5) do you need to build a PoC or very quickly?
For proof of concept, spaces WebCenter is the way to go because you will not lose time on the construction of the core portal components. With a CEP, the base model is not the most important past. A CEP is all about to prove a technology or idea works. This can be easily done in spaces. Also note that once the POC is done, make sure you take the right decision for the use of spaces or a portal based on the previous questions. Not one of my arguments preferred for the use of spaces, but more often you want... When your due date is very close and you build a real working environment that it is better to go to space because you will not have to build the base of the portal. You can concentrate on the integration of your own custom features. This can still be a hassle as explained in question 4.

What happens if you need both?
These questions will help you decide whether to use WebCenter spaces. Of course, it happens a lot that you need to have the best of both worlds. What to do in such cases? Suppose you need to build a large intranet portal for a multinational company. Requirements requires each user to have a personal space to enable them to develop their own dashboards. The company also has a custom application that require the presence in the portal there is a lot of taskflows to develop. Basically, it is very easy. When you answer YES on both questions 1 and 2, you must go to space, regardless of the results of other issues. The reason for this is that implementation of these features in a custom WebCenter Portal requires such a big effort you'll save time by going for the spaces. You will lose time in the expansion of the spaces with your own custom taskflows, but it's nothing compared to the effort required to build your own framework for custom dashboard or spaces of group. If the two question 1 and 2 are NOT there is basically no real reason why you should go for spaces.

  • Need for clarification about Webcenter and Jdeveloper Total confused.

    Hi guys,.

IAM new product oracle and my self very fresh to the world of tools and oracle, when I did a little research on the package tools, I found Webcenter as an interesting tool and liked to hear. With the support of Mr YannicK Ongena I learn some concept and through some possible configuration but once all the setup I have query below, and mistook them... Now am not able to satisfy the Webcenter.

I have a query, the developer should be installed the requirements.
JDeveloper and database or something there.

In the current configuration * I installed.
    WebLogic
    Database
    RCU
    JVM
    WebCenter Suite.

As mentioned above this two configurations are different methods or should I install Jdeveloper with the current configuration?

I'm confused a lot with the current configuration.

If the Jdeveloper and adjustment of the current methods are to different then the one who will be recommended by the guide of environment pl in time real me on this.

If possible help me with a better discription learn how Webcenter.

    Thank you and best regards,
    Naveen

Best place to discuss these things on my blog :)

First of all, you should look at the requirements. Depending on whether you need to decide what to use:
    (1) Portal of the WebCenter which is a completely customizable to environment in place your portal from scratch. This is done by using JDeveloper. If you want a WebCenter portal, you need not install the suite WebCenter full with the data base and the UCR and so on. You should only install WebLogic with Webcenter libraries. However, if you want to use services such as blog, wiki, documents, debates and so on, you will need to install the suite with an oracle DB and run the RCU to create repositories.

    (2) WebCenter spaces. This environment is installed when you install webcenter suite. This is the managed server WC_Spaces. It is a collaborative environment that requires no JDeveloper. You should only use JDeveloper to extend the spaces by adding your custom taskflows and portlets.

If in short to the requirements:
    (1) WebCenter Portal:
    -JDeveloper
    -WebLogic + libraries WebCenter
-Database at least the MDS repository (which can be created by the UCR)

    (2) the WebCenter spaces
    -WebLogic + WebCenter suite
-Database at least the schema MDS and WebCenter (can be created by the regional coordination unit)

If you want to learn how WebCenter, I recommend to learn early on. You don't need to go through the complete installation, process that can be difficult is you again for Oracle products.
Just download JDeveloper studio edition: http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/jdev/downloads/jdev11115-405165.html and install extensions WebCenter. If you do this, you can't even install a database and so on.
With this configuration, you can easily create your own portal without coding a lot. An ideal way to learn the basics of the webcenter.

    Hope this helps :)
