I said to my Curve 8900 to "stop asking me" if I wanted to the handset to a hard drive.  And it defaults to 'no '.  How can I get that back?

    Dear BlackBerry Desktop Software Support

I just happened on a problem that just started while my phone is connected to this PC you by writing.

In the last hour, my phone has been cut more than 10 times and I do not see why it does this.

The connectors are stable, but occasionally the phone disconnected and reconnects.

I brought this phone to my provider 4 times this year, to have changed connector, but the phones is always sent back with the same connector to corrodant and they will not change unless I can't get a connection of any charger, if connection to the sector or from my laptop

I had updated the latest BlackBerry Desktop Manager to Version 7.1.0.37 which works fine until today.

Is there any direction I could get about this problem, please.

    Yours Sincerely

    JTV

    Hello

It looks like a hardware problem with a faulty connector. I don't know why your carrier didn't want to deal with it before, but contact them again. As long as your phone is still under warranty, they need perform the repair, as long as it is due to no fault of your choice. If your carrier refuses to deal with the problem and the unit is still under warranty, you can try to contact RIM directly using the information provided in the following link:

    http://UK.BlackBerry.com/support/programs/technical/incident.html

I hope this info helps and that your carrier finally solves the problem for you.

  • Transfer of data between 7290's BlackBerry Smartphones

I bought a 2nd 7290 because I couldn't solve the problem I had to lose the sound.  How can I transfer the data off the old unit to the new.  It is a personal phone not connected to a wireless network.  Also the new purchase does not show bluetooth icon.

You can download any version of the Desktop Manager. That is not the model of your device. The latest version is 4.7.

  • Access to corporate blackBerry Smartphones via wifi if e-mail isn't on a support

I have a torch 9810 via AT & T. If I turn the cell off the signal and just use wifi, I get all my emails professional very well. Don't need a cellular signal.

What happens if I cancel AT & T altogether and do not replace it with any carrier. Then I connect my blackberry via wifi to internet. Will I always have the corporate e-mail?

Part of me said 'Yes', because there is no reason not to. I can turn on the Bberry, connect it via wifi and get email. AT & T is superfluous.

Part of me said: 'No,' because I don't know, maybe that when I cancel AT & T, Blackberry (the company) "disqualify" me their server (or something) and therefore the phone is a brick.

Hello and welcome to the community!

BBs legacy (pre-BB10), all BB exclusive services, including e-mail, depended on an active account to BlackBerry Internet Service (BIS). The device itself does not have an email client full... depends on BIS in order to provide messaging functionality. And BIS infrastructure is hosted at carriers and BlackBerry - and is used for your email at any time, regardless of the channel (carrier or WiFi data network) that you have active on your BB.

So the long and short of it is that if you cancel your BIS account (due to the cancellation of AT & T), your email will stop working (because your BB will no longer be able to communicate with BIS), even if you only use WiFi.

The BB10 BIS is removed, replaced by a full e-mail on the device... so client, BB10 device can work perfectly for send only via WiFi, because there is no need to talk to BIS. But legacy devices must speak BIS.

    Good luck!

Edit... I just noticed the use of the word "business". If by that, you mean BES, then the same situation applies always... it is just a story of BES-level (from your carrier) instead of a BIS account which is required for features.

    See you soon!

  • BlackBerry Smartphones via WiFi without BIS email?

I am considering buying a Blackberry and I want to know if it is possible to use e-mails via the WiFi functionality in some Blackberry phones without having to subscribe to the Blackberry Internet Service. I use Outlook for work and would like to be able to send/receive when in a WiFi area. Is this possible?

I can't use WiFi to access my Outlook mail without subscribing to BIS?

OK, you need the BIS account to access Outlook

The only way to check this e-mail is to use some kind of portal through the Navig while on WiFi?

    Fix them too.

  • Transfer of old blackBerry Smartphones media memory card

I recently started using a Blackberry Torch and I wonder if there is any way I can transfer photos from the memory card from my old phone directly on my torch.

    Thank you

Well, the best way is to copy ALL the files from your old card to your PC using a usb memory card adapter that you can buy cheaply at any electronics store. Get the old files from your PC and then copy them to your new BlackBerry or using the same adapter.

But if the old card fits your torch and is visible on the PC, do it this way, by copying the files on your PC. Insert the new card into the torch, then copy this files on the PC to the new card into the BlackBerry.

By contacting your wireless service provider and subscribe to a data plan (at some fresh they will charge you, btw) which allows a personal email on your BB.

  • Transfer to different blackBerry Smartphones apps phone?

Given that many of the 3rd party apps require your PIN when download you them, what would happen if you ever have to replace or change it on your phone? Would you buy the apps, or you could use the new pin # for them? Just curious because it seems that some applications are specific pin once download you them. Thank you!!

From my experience most of the developers will give you a new license for the new PIN code.

That said, some offer ONLY a license of the device, so when you change devices, you do not lose the license, but most it will transfer.

  • Transfer contacts from blackBerry Smartphones to a Curve 8330 on a BES.

    Hi all

I am a newbie to BB but recently received for the work.  My problem is trying to transfer the contacts from my old cell phone (Sanyo SCP-7050) on my new Curve 8330.  I took it to my local Sprint store, and they said that contacts can be transferred because the BB was registered on a BES.  The Bluetooth connection no longer works, I guess for the same reason.

I don't have a chance, or there at - it another way, I can enter my BB contacts?  I have contacts stored as individual card (.vcf) and was hoping there is a way to use the micro SD card to load them on somehow.

Any ideas or help would be greatly appreciated.

    BB 8330

    V4.5.0.175 (Platform 3.4.0.55)

    No apps not loading... yet.

    Thank you

Hi and welcome to the Forums!

Since you're on BES, why don't you just DL your vcf to your PC and import them into Outlook? Then BES will be responsible to your BB.

Good luck and let us know!

  • Failng to blackBerry Smartphones via browser downloads

    Hello world

I have download video podcasts, usually by the browser that I have been unable to find a podcast program that deals with videos.

Much of the time, the file will be partially download, seem to hang for a while and then fail. This happens even when I am in a strong 3G signal.

Could there be a reason why this happens a lot?

    Thank you

    Paul

    Hello

I managed to find an answer to my problem, so I thought I would post it here in case anyone else has similar problems.

Now, I use Opera Mini. I managed to download several files ranging from 30 to 60 MB, with no download fails at all.

Opera Mini also supports the RSS STREAM, which is handy to know when these sites are updated with the new podcasts.

    Thank you

  • BlackBerry Smartphones Micro USB card

So I'm having a problem with my microphone USB card. I have an ESN 8830 World Edition of Bell. I use the card to put pictures and a ringtone on the map and then put the card in my phone. I put everything etc and then when I pull the card the ringtone is not in my media files. How can I transfer the ringtone on my phone?

    goldbirds wrote:

How can I transfer the ringtone on my phone?

Go to the icon of your media > press the Menu key > Explore > Media Card > search and locate your ringtone file > press Menu > move and navigate to your RINGTONE folder on the device memory and drop it there.

Now you can remove the BlackBerry media card and I hope that if you moved it correctly, the ringtone file will be present.

Otherwise, just ring by email to yourself, open on the BlackBerry and SAVE.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones micro USB compatibility

I got a Black Berry Bold 9700 my company so I can't ask any question to my seller. I hope someone can help me.

I would buy an extra USB cable to have a cable at home and another cable to the office (especially the battery). Due to the policy of the company, we can buy accessories only from a supplier. There are several USB cable available from this provider, but one dedicated to Black Barry. The Original of this cable code is: ACODBBYMCRUSB (I don't know what that means "Original Code"). It is compatible with the following BB:

    Pearl Flip 8220

    Javelin 8520

    Curve 8900

    Storm 9500

9700 "BOLD" is not mentioned. Can someone tell me if a compatible with BB models above cable is also compatible with the Bold 9700?

More generally, is it true that the Bold 9700 USB microphone is not a standard micro USB cable? It is the shape of the plug or is related to the characteristic of the cable (impedance etc...)?

If the power plug is a standard, could someone tell me which are the characteristics of the cable so that I could buy generic provider mentioned micro USB cable. In particular, I found:

    -IC Intracom Manhattan CABLE MICRO USB 2.0 - USB 4 pin (M) - Micro-USB 5-pin - type B (M) - 1.8 m (USB/Hi-Speed USB)

This cable is suitable for BB Bold 9700?

    Many thanks in advance,

    Giona

I just got a USB to micro USB drive eBay. Had no problem. Micro USB is Micro USB

  • BlackBerry smartphones, that I need help to transfer data from a 9870 "BOLD" for a Blackberry Curve 9300 Blackberry

Hi, I have used a Bold 9870 for a few months now. I've been saving my camera on my computer periodically. Unfortunately, it has been exposed to water the weekend and unresponsive. I transferred my acct (by Sasktel) to the Blackberry curve of my son he no longer uses. (I'm drying my "BOLD" in a bag of rice and I hope that it will work again in the coming days?!).

My question is did anyone know how I can get all my information backups "BOLD" (contacts, emails, texts, bbm surveys) and get only their transferred on the curve that I currently use. I feel completely lost without it!

    Thank you for your time.
