  Atul, I thank you for your response. I had read a lot of comments referred to as before posting my query. Not too encouraging - used LR 2/3/4 with operating system previous Windows without problem. Will sit on the fence a little longer on this one.

Suddenly, lightroom will not start when I try an image that I have taken with my nikon D500 and transferred to WINDOWS 8.1.  I tried to re - install lightroom: the application procedure serieal number, but refused to accept the number that has always worked.   If you are certain that you have the correct number of series, there are really not much that we can help you here. You can try to download and install the latest version of Lightroom 2. This will be the trial version, but when the trial screen there is an option to indicate that you have a serial number. Either way, Lightroom serial numbers start with the four first digits being 1160.

  I am running 2 versions of Lightroom version 3.5 on a desktop mac and version 6.3 on a computer mac laptop. the problem that I am incurring is on the module to import on version 6.3 on a computer laptop images may not appear in the grid to see a preview before you import it.

  I have to pay a monthly subscription for all photography and I adobe applications like photoshop and Lightroom 6 I used on my laptop without a problem until 2 days ago, but now my phone is completely dead. I have a windows Tablet and that you have installed applications. My problem/question is, I tried to open the Lightroom Catalog. How do I get 6 Lightroom on the Tablet I can get with my editing. It is v5.7.1 the latest version on my tablet at the moment. My deadline to the Faculty is a week away!

  Hello.  I pay package photography for monthly subs and I have photoshop and lightroom 6 that I use on my laptop no problem... until 2 days ago my laptop is dead... completely.    I have a windows Tablet and you have installed the programs. My problem is, I tried to open the lightroom catalog I want to use, but because it has been used in lightroom 6, I get a message saying that it is too recent and choose a different catalog. How can I get 6 Lightroom on the Tablet I can get with my editing.  It is v5.7.1 on my tablet at the moment.  My deadline to the College's panic away wee a week! Thanks for reading. • 6 Windows 10 Lightroom problem... Photo write-protected? Or what the problem?

  I have several problems with my 6 Lightroom (10 Windows) when I try to use the Collection of NIK from Google for editing:

  • When I right click on the image in Lightroom, there are three options, basically edit a copy or the original file. I can't edit a copy of an image, only the original file. When I try to edit a copy "/... / JPG cannot be opened because it does not exist or access denied."
  • When I try to change the original file: first of all, there is a warning that the photo is "write-protected", but I can go forward from that and edit the file in Dfine2 for example. But when the file is changed and I want to save there is another error. "Cannot write the file. Please make sure that the file is not protected in writing and that you have sufficient access to the file. »

  When I look at the photo on my computer it isn´t write protected?

  To verify permissions in Windows (10):

  Open Windows Explorer and navigate to the records to check

  Right-click on a folder and select [Properties] from the drop-down

  

  Select the Security tab.

  Highlight an item in the Panel [of group or user names:]

  Search in the permissions area below to check.

  You need to 'Total control' verified 'on' for three user names: name, SYSTEM and administrators.

  Repeat verification for each folder you want to use with Lightroom.

• Lightroom problem 5 catalog.

  Wonder if anyone can help I can't seem to find the answer to this. I have some of my Lightroom DNG files on an external hard drive, I moved in Lightroom so that the catalog pointing to their location. This hard drive failed and I can't access the data on it. I still have pictures on my camera card I read in Lightroom. The problem is that the original Lightroom Catalog with all the hard work is always looking for the file on the hard disk that is not available, is it possible to point the catalogue for this and files back to the main hard drive, which is where the second group of files are now located.

  Suddenly, I have a problem importing photos from my camera in Lightroom 5.  The message I get, says file cannot be read.  I even tried another device to make sure that it wasn't my camera and got the same result.  Any help would be appreciated.  I have a mac.

  The problem has been resolved.  Looks like a setting has been changed and photos were sent to the wrong file when you try to import.  I think that the library.  Has been changed to the desktop.  Simple fix to a frustrating problem.

  I downloaded the beta version of lightroom 5 without problem, but when I try to download the free trial version, when I click on the download button, nothing happens. My wife uses a mac, and she got LR5 without any problem. I have modified my firewall and allowed windows pop up, but still no joy - can anyone help

  What system are you on? LR 5 does not work on anything other than Win 7 or 8 to win even if the beta ran on Vista and XP even. If you are not on the good OS, it would never work.
