Legal issues - manual

I'm working on an English manual. The book will be (hopefully) published the next year.

I would use my book on Adobe Stock photos (about 10) but don't know what plan should I choose avoid legal issues... and obviously don't want to pay more than I actually need to.

Thank you in advance for your help!

Hi Gabriel,

Our plans are available to Adobe Stock price and plan membership | Adobe Stock and you can choose one according to your needs.

Also, I think that you will require for the extended licenses, please see Stock FAQ: what we send licenses? for more information.

Kind regards

Sheena

  • Obtaining a disk image of Vista (legal issues)?

    My girlfriend bought a laptop with Vista Home Premium pre-installed, but it seems that the laptop didn't come with the CD of vista, or she has since lost their. Because I'm not really a Windows person, I would like to know the following:

    (1) where can I find the vista license code? Is glued to the underside of the machine labeled Product Key (and composed of five blocks of 5 alphanumeric characters)?
    (2) can I download a vista from an official source disk image?
    (3) otherwise (I have not found one so far), it is legal to download vista family premium by the way and then use his license code to reinstall it on the same computer?

    Yes.

    The product key/license of Vista is this Sticker with 5 groups of 5 figures (25) stuck to the bottom of the laptop.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    There is no Vista free download legal available.
    Contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send a recovery disk/s Vista set.
    Normally, they do this for a cost of $ small.
    In addition, ask them if you have a recovery Partition on your computer/laptop to restore it to factory settings.
    Or borrow a good DVD (not Dell, HP, etc.) Vista.
    A good Vista DVD contains all versions of Vista.
    The product key determines which version of Vista is installed.
    There are 2 disks of Vista: one for 32-bit operating system, and one for 64-bit operating system.
  • Legal issue of XP Pro activation
    I'm having a problem with XP activation: activation continues to tell me my product key is not valid, but microsoft says that it is valid. I got a new PC built to replace my old pc. Installed and activated Windows XP successfully in February or March... due to call to activate, but it worked. I caught a virus and had to reformat my hard drive. I called six times telephone activation: first call to customer service tells me that it is a valid product key and I should go to the web address (then cut), second call to the 'invalid product key' customer service please go to the Webhttp://tinyurl.com/2vkfhg7 that tells me that I need to activate Windows (no ____), third call to the client code "invalid product" service 800-936-5700.     Your problem is that you have installed with a detail of the disc - and try to activate using an OEM key. its simply won't work.
    You must either use the key supplied with the disc retail, or reinstall using the correct recovery disks or OEM media provided with the machine.
    Hello
    I read messages on the other fn keys not working do not, but can't find anything about these two (fn + q and fn + e). I just reinstalled windows 8.1 (and spin the dual boot ubuntu) and now these two keys have no effect.
    Does anyone know that drivers are responsible? Or have any other ideas?
    Thank you.
    Yes, if you look in the applications section of our manuals and drivers, you can download the Acer Launch Manager. Good starting point, but I'm not 100% on what software is required for the keystrokes, and not all software can be downloaded (in reason of the royalties and other legal issues).
  • How to stop grouping Adobe 'MALWARE' with their updates.
    We must launch a petition to Adobe to stop the McAfee group automatically with each update. Not everyone is tech savvy (including my parents) and I'm sick of helping those who have accidentally install this shit on their machines. If they are unable to stop the group he have at least the box unchecked on the page set up so people can manually check themselves after they read whatever it is if they still want installed. It of bad netiquette and doing business, and it must end now.
    This isn't a good reason for self opt in. There is very little reason to auto opt in anything, especially something unrelated to your software.
    A lot of people do not trust McAfee in particular for many reasons arising from their history of advertising, mediocre ability, wrong size, wrong gear and many other things. Even IF they did a reliable product, flash is too ubiquitous to think that end users do not already have an AV installed.
    Software AV usually don't play well with other AV software, including McAfee and Symantec.
    This also opens the Adobe Flash Installer for Trojans tie so that the portion of McAfee requires a high level of function security. If you think this is a reason for direct downloads, it's not that it would not be a big problem to the Adobe servers target for a feat.
    The latest incarnation of McAfee AV is very buggy and creates its own weird UI with no warning is another very bad question.
    Note that this problem is on top of the already bad issue of the update of flash too often; always use automatic updates is enabled instead of remember the choice of the user; and the additional steps new, horrible to have to go to adobe.com to update while keeping the annoying popup previous installer.
    Flash Player is extremely expensive to develop, maintain and distribute.  It requires the effort of a large number of specialized and talented people, and by pushing a single implementation to day consumes approximately 50 petabytes of bandwidth.  To offer Adobe products free bundles represent a necessary cost-recovery mechanism.
    If Adobe had "50 petabytes with a value of bandwidth", they wouldn't need McAfee for advertising revenue they'd already one of the richest companies in the world. Why? Because Google uses only 25 ~ TB of bandwidth, and it would take 2,000 times more than that. Check your knowledge before the representative of your company.
    If you mean that the total amount of data transferred to end users by adobe for an update, then you have another problem, which would be > 1 billion downloaded best!
    If it's so expensive to Adobe to "develop, maintain and distribute" flash drive, maybe Adobe should look to make a few changes:
    • Stop requiring direct downloads (they are irritating and considered dangerous)
      • Deliver via the channels of the torrent/cloud/normal add-on: secure, fast and efficient
    • Rewrite your drive (it's already slow, outdated, bloated, buggy, proven risk security, etc.)
    • Open source (what are you afraid of?) We will steal your crappy code, create a better product in less than a year, know that there are really malware?)
    "bundles represent a necessary cost-recovery mechanism.
    • Explain why you and Oracle are the only two major software providers who do this
    • Is this the reason why you must group an AV program, to mitigate the cost of garbage on the computers of people fed by force?
    To get more technical account users use only your product to avoid legal issues surrounding copyright godawful Adobe Flash there solutions much better flash out there who are in questionable legal territory (although probably safe).
  • What happened to the recovery of the Options software Dfault factory to win 8.
    We recently bought a C50 - B Satellite laptop for one of our boys to use at school (since they decided that the laptop replaces the need for text books) and needed to be implemented. It will be his only machine and it will also use to play games and surf the net. Past experience with his games, he done always something that slows down the system and finally makes it almost unusable, a State that I can't leave because it is necessary for school. I thought I would dualboot, one system for school only and the other for its games so that if its OS is messed up games he can still do his school work on the other OS.
    Microsoft say that, since the OS will be installed on the same computer twice, but that an installation can be run at any time that it does not violate their license agreement, so no problem with legal issues.
    System recovery, in Win7 under "Recovery of Factory Default Software" has three options.
    1 get out-of-box state.
    2 recover without changing the hard drive partitions.
    3. recover a custom size partition. The memory option 2 or 3 allows a 2nd installation of the operating system even though I think as the BCD needed some changes to both work.
    My problem is that the C50 - B comes with Windows 8.1 and the recovery procedure and options have changed. Win 8 / 8.1 seems not to have option 1, or an equivalent, as it says Win 8 s reset is similar to the recovery of Win7s, but this removes the partitions and the existing operating system, so I can't get two operating systems on the computer by using this method.
    Does anyone know a way to dual boot to help to win 8 / 8.1 recovery partition?
    OR is it possible to modify the script to allow options 2 and 3 of Win7?
    Win 7 was not ideal for this, but the deletion of these two options, it is difficult to use other operating systems such as Ubuntu, Linux etc.
    I would like to see the recovery for the other operating systems partition, do not assume that it will be the only OS that requires the user on the machine.
    Help with this will be appreciated.
    Thank you.
  • WinDVD for Toshiba - no function screen Cap?
    Hello
    I just bought myself a Toshiba A200 15I (I think it's the name of the model, or something c. similar in any case) and I'm just starting to get comfortable with it.
    One thing I noticed it's a disappointment is that the version of WinDVD, I had with this laptop is different to the one I'm used to, I've got WinDVD 4.0 on my old laptop and one that came with my new laptop is a specific version of Hitachi (InterVideo WinDVD "Toshiba").
    One thing that I really like WinDVD on my old laptop is now that he allows me to take screenshots of the video/DVD files I play on it but I can't find any mention of a feature of Cape screen on this version of Hitachi of it. After a while, I found the help section and searched for screenshot, but nothing helped, so im guessing he is not there (?)
    If Yes, I checked and managed to find the CD for my old laptop that contains WinDVD 4.0 but I'm not sure if it would be safe to uninstall the current version of Hitachi and try installing that, as the CD of WinDVD 4.0 is specially for my old laptop Fujitsu Siemens (it is one of the CD that came with the laptop and FSC (Fujitsu Siemens Computers) wrote next to the version number) as it is a few years ive no idea if it would be at all compatible with Vista and my new laptop obv. a Vista (Home Premium). I don't know if it would be a good idea to have installed either both, we could confuse the system with two WinDVDs installed on a computer (?).
    Am I right in thinking the Hitachi program WinDVD don't let me do / select screenshots? If Yes, what is the best thing to do, so I have a program that will allow me to quickly and easily get caps of video files and DVD... is there a known Vista friendly program that would allow me to do this as an alternative? or WinDVD 4.0 works well and it would be safe for me to maybe try to install that... I don't want to risk of confusion between the system and/or uninstall Vista friendly program to finish with another who does not really I think. I checked to see if the MovieMaker version that comes with Vista, would allow me to do it, but it doesn't seem to have an option of course screen too, even if I don't check this program in pretty good detail so I could be wrong, but when the old icon of camera used to be, I did not see it... has this option been removed these programs due to legal issues or something perhaps? I never heard of something like this...
    Any help is much appreciated; Thank you!
    Edit:-I just noticed it says "InterVideo WinDVD for Toshiba 8.0" If that helps...
    Why Don t you use another program to make the screenshots like VLC or media player classic? I mean, WinDVD is ok, but why not use more professional and perhaps more opensource and not programs of some manufacturer changed without feature for users who need a?
    I suggest you look at VLC since it s a good tool and very useful. Maybe you can find more applications in that direction.
  • P50 - easier to test the brightness?
    basic question, what would be the easiest (for example less expensive) for me to measure the brightness of my P50 Panel? (btw, I have not found a way to identify the FAB of the Panel, when people quote is Sharp because they opened the chasis and saw a label?)
    Comment to Moderator: The model is added to the object for clarity.
    I forgot to say that the colorimeter must also be adapted to the types of LED backlight. Old designed for CRT or CCFL types don't work reliably, and they can bring up the bad light output.
    It is always interesting to complain, if that bothers you. I don't know what really are the requirements of Lenovo, but for legal issues that they better test according to the manufacturer tolerances and methods of measurement. I don't have the technical details of the Panel from Sharp, but the LG 15.6 "screen LP156UD1-SPA2 4K can be found on the net. The typical brightness is 300 nits. Guaranteed minimum is 255 nits. And those values are still based on an average of 5 samples, measured perpendicular to the screen using a spectrophotometer placed 50 cm from distance.
    The reason why the Sharp 4 K Panel looks dark is due to the kind of absurd angles, vision, so no perpendicular with your eyes everything loses brightness. But I don't think that there is no requirement for the severity of this anywhere. Except that the angles of vision is defined as the angle where the contrast rate of 10:1.
  • The Globals and Globals station brought in the sequential model of the file
    Hello
    I create sample files to illustrate the use of the station globals and globals using TestStand 4.2, model batch file.  I was assuming that station overall value would be persistent to the station and file global values are persisted to the file (as long as the file is not deleted, the value will remain).  But, after the executions of couple, I found that I'm wrong.
    He's looking to me that globals file, the value reset for each new execution.  I would like to ask if this is a correct behavior?  If it is correct, I can say that: because each run contains the new instance of the file, so at the beginning again, new copy of the globals file are created.  (I'm borrowing the idea of the model of batch execution logic, but for my example, I use only the sequential model).
    In addition to reading the other posts, for globals station, value is not persistent until a file Save command issued manually.  How to deliver this command?  And, is there a similar command for globals file?
    Thank you.
    Peggy
    Hello
    When teststand is closed the StationGlobals file is updated automatically, you don't have to do anything.
    For FileGlobals, there is a static version, that you create at the time of editing, and there is a version of the runtime. When you change the values during execution, these are not kept when execution is completed. So if you want to maintain values of execution you will also change the static values and also save the file in the sequence.
    There are examples in this forum to do just that.
    Hope this helps
