Lenovo E540 change Wifi adapter

My laptop has Intel N7260 wireless card. I want to change it but the bios gives error.

Is there a list of wifi adapters compatible with this laptop?

Hello!

Research of the Nomenclature on the Lenovo site for your machine. It lists all approved for your laptop Wifi cards.

Then find the card that gives what you want to and approved...

Good luck.

  • S205 Lenovo with RaLink 3090 series wifi adapter problems - update driver 3.2.1 solve?

    Hello.

I just got the Lenovo S205 with RaLink 3090 series wifi card and had a steady decline until I downloaded the Version 3.2.1 update which was included in the link for the 309 X (X being 0 for me for my wifi card) software/drivers on RaLink site, under the Help menu.

Go to ralinktech.com and go to Support > downloads > Windows and you will see a list of several RaLink devices which include the adapter X 309. I chose to download/install the full utility with the driver. I remember well, it may be more 28 megabytes.

I hope it works for you!

    Update:

I uninstalled the RaLink wireless utility that came with the 3.2.1 pilot, but it uninstalled the driver too. Then I reinstalled and activated the option "install driver only", went into the control panel > hardware and audio > Device Manager > network adapters >

RALink RT3090 802.11n WiFi adapter > double-click to open the properties > power management tab > uncheck "allow this computer to turn off device to save energy ', 'OK', close and restart programs.

So when I start or wake the system from sleep, I click the Wireless connections icon in the lower right (next), bar and then click on the link that I want to connect, and then click 'Connect' While it takes 8 seconds to connect, it is worth MUCH more that to have the connection drop constantly, and I probably reboot my system only once when he didn't to reconnect out of a State of sleep.

I had a MUCH more homogeneous behaviour since this change, and I hope it works well for you too!

I have a HP Pavilion g6-1d73us running Windows 7 Home Premium with Intel Core i3 2.30 GHz, 4 GB RAM, 64-bit OS and want to upgrade my wireless WiFi 802.11ac 802.11n wifi adapter so I can also change my modem & router to the new, faster standard. The current wifi adapter I have is Realtek RTL8188CE 802.11 b/g/n wifi adapt. I studied the material on the internet and I think I want an Intel Wireless AC 7260 wifi adapter, but I don't know if it is compatible with my laptop. Could you please tell me what 802.11ac wireless card or adapter is compatible with my laptop or if I'm even able to upgrade that component. My computer works fine and has no problem. Thank you.

Sorry no. The computer HP laptop motherboard has a BIOS program that is configured to stop the boot process, if all the wireless but very specific cards is installed. In the case of your laptop, no adapter 802.11ac lies on the 'white list' to boot.

  • change WIFI channels | EX6200

    Hi people,

I am looking to change the wifi channel but I don't see any possibility to do. When I'm in my range extender (WLAN-> Setup) Setup, the button for Wifi-channel(2,4GHz) is grey so I can't change the channel. In 5 GHz Mode I can edit, but why not in 2, 4 GHz mode?

I have downloaded the application called Wifi analytical, inside this app I can see, what channels are overloaded and that are not used as mch. But also there I can't change everything about the channel.

so, is it possible to do? Please give me a hint. Are know that questions about this case?

    Our facility:

Speedport (router, Vdsl-> EX6200 and EX6200 another (both configured as a Repeater, NO Access Point)

    Windows-Machines (laptops, Smartphones)

EX6200-Firmware: update (can't see the web interface version - why?)

    Thank you

    Stephan Zabel

    Hey!

I have now changed the Wifi channel of typeA v724v myspeedport on Channel 9 and this channel has been taken over by EX6200. So, it seems, the Extender must use the same channel that the router... sort of logical

    Thank you!

Well, another little question: why I can't see 5 GHz Wifi, when searching through existing Wifi? Do I have to have a special Wifi adapter in computers? I tested windows and mac Machines. Only Mac shows the high-performance-Wifi... PC can not show 5 GHz. (Yes, I have turned off as I wrote the last post, but I just tested now, and it seems that there is no possible connection 5 GHz?)

My Wifi adapter: Realtek RTL8723BE WLAN 802.11n PCI-E NIC

    Thanks in advance

  • Intel Centrino 1000 bgn wifi adapter 'broken '? (on Z570)

On my new laptop (Lenovo IdeaPad Z-570), I have installed and working
fine (for about 2 months now), as the dual boot between Linux and Win - 7.

The wifi hardware is the Intel Centrino 1000-N, that plugs into the PCI-E card
location of bus. (I had the large bottom plate and examined the)
card, who has two sons, 1 white, 1 black and stands in his
slot with a single phillips screw. [Seems that they can put "lock-tight"
cement on the threads of the screw, the screw did not move.]

Here's my current dilemma: 2 days, while that started under Linux.
rather than tension, as usual, I closed the lid and went to bed.
In the morning, at the opening of the lid, I realized... hmm... maybe it was
    hibernation (if I remember correctly).

So, I turned it off and then cold started upward. The wifi was not see
no signal at all. (Clearly the router/WLAN worked like my wife
laptop connected fine.) I grew up in a cmd, su command prompt ' ed, and
"iwlist scan" and has confirmed that there is a problem. Said that he could not
analysis via the interface 'wlan0', because the network was down.
I went in the ceni and walked through a re - configure and got:
'... cannot be set without wire-flags... impossible operation, due to the RF-kill'

Intrigued, I restarted, more to Win - 7, and she also couldn't see any wifi signal.

I checked the slide switch on the front dash Panel... it looked very well.
has been passed to the right. Slippery left causes an avant-panneau-LED
to go off, slide the switch to the right, causing an avant-panneau LED to
on. (I think I know that this switch controls bluetooth and wifi
devices. I have not played with the Bluetooth at all yet).

2 days ago, my conclusion was that the material 'broken' on the wifi adapter.

But now, my "instinct" is the thought that maybe miss me another possibility.
(for example a BIOS setting governs the wifi?) Could a misconfigured 'putting into hibernation'
the installer put the wifi adapter in statehood "firmware-level/BIOS-level-disabled"?
[for example such that neither OS can easily get the wifi adapter to see signals?]

    TIA...

checked the fn + f5 to turn on the wireless?
also check the updates to the bios download page if there is place.

  • Pavilion DV7-3165DX, Atheros AR9285 WiFi adapter, communication and incompatibility issues

After much research, I decided to buy a Pavilion DV7-3065DX. Then, I walked to my local Best Buy to say the 3065DX had been abandoned and was no longer available for purchase. However, the 3165DX, his successor had arrived and was very similar to the previous generation. After a brief discussion to justify the increase of prices with myself, I gave and was sold.

Within hours, I was in College, trying to connect to the WiFi network without success. After several hours becoming more and more frustrated, I decided to call it closes unexpectedly. Rushing home after class, I plugged the new Linksys WRT160N, I had also bought wireless router and configured on my desk. Once completed, I tried to connect using the new Pavilion. To my surprise, it worked! (And no problem whatsoever no less). So, apparently, the wireless adapter works, but does so only on some networks.

A week later, I tried to connect to a number of public and private WiFi networks of different types with limited success. Most importantly, I am able to connect to my home network, but not to the public networks in my college or city libraries. At one point, the Office for my college indicated that my WiFi adapter is one of a handful of cards on the list of incompatible devices to their network. As it was to buy the laptop in the first place, I am extremely frustrated.

I turned to the support pages of HP for a solution. I considered a update driver despite the use of the HP Wizard to keep abreast on all software downloads and updates. To my dismay, product for the Pavilion DV7-3165DX page lists of Broadcom WiFi adapter, which does not correspond to my hardware (Atheros AR9285). What's worse, is that the manufacturer's website offers no driver downloads to customers that its site is adapted directly to product manufacturers.

At this point, I'm increased and not sure what to do. I am already attached to this laptop. Apart from the war with his fingerprints on its black and shiny chrome surfaces shiny, the problem with the Atheros WiFi card is the only problem that I had. I hate having to go through the ordeal to return, and I do not think that this problem requires the sending of the product to HP for repair. Furthermore, I believe that if it came down to one of those, I simply return the product and find my way to another product by other manufacturers in total.

This certainly isn't the experience I had hoped with my first purchase of HP.

    Any suggestions?

I have the same question... However with me the solution wasn't in the pilot. I spent 3 hours on the phone with technical support, try to understand.

What it comes down to say that Atheros AR 9285 is a shi * ty wireless card. It supports 802.11n Protocol, but only 2.4 GHz (the same as the b/g frequencies). My Cysco wireless router was broadcasting 5 GHz Wireless-N and AR 9285 was not able to detect it. Once I changed the router settings to allow 2.4 GHz Wireless-N Networking, the Atheros card was able to connect under the Protocol N. However, the maximum speeds of 2.4 GHz card are slower than 5 GHz card.

I wish they would give an option to choose what wireless card to install in my laptop. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR. I'm always done what they me screwed on.

  • HP p077tx: missing in Device Manager Wifi adapter

I have a HP p077tx laptop and it is under warranty.

As for 2 months I have problems with wifi as my wifi adapter used will be unavailable after that I woke up my laptop from sleep. I mean the wifi was not simply disconnected, but there was no adpater wifi under the Device Manager list. Once I chose scan for hardware changes generally used to be back again.

But last Wednesday, there just no and now it is gone forever. Tried rebooting several times which did not help of course.

I thought the system restore using the windows system restore to a date before I had this problem. However, as the laptop starts again wifi was back and works normally as it used to. I have never put my laptop to sleep but just turned off. Next morning the wifi always worked and I thought that the problem has been resolved, but it was only before I put my phone back to sleep and later, he was gone.

I also tried to remove the drivers installed for it programs and features, but it does not allow me to uninstall them and jumped an error saying that it cannot be deleted. \update 65.

There is no option to uninstall the driver from Device Manager, as I said is not even appear in the list.

So I tried to reset the laptop and it's same thing happened for a restoration of the system. After putting the laptop on standby it wasn't everything again.

    Help, please.

  • X 220 with thinkpad b/g/n wireless (1 x 1 bgn) x 1 bgn) wifi adapter

    Hello

It seems that there are a lot of complaints around the Wifi adapter thinkpad b/g/n wireless (1 x 1 bgn). I really want to know how worse it is compared to Intel 6205 (not to mention 6300 - it really is a beast, people say).

Someone can let me know if fresh Lenovo as much for an upgrade like this (1 x 1 for intel 6205 thinkpad) and is it interesting?

    Thank you very much!

When you buy the 220 X of the U.S. online store the upgrade of 1 x 1 bgn 6205 was only about $ 15.

It is worth the upgrade of 1 x 1 to the Intel 6205 (the 6300 not so much). Especially if:

    1. your wireless hub is not a powerful antenna.
    2. a lot of people use the same 2.4 ghz band width.
3 and you can live with 150 Mbps (usually around 75 MB/s are more frequent) transfer speed.
