    Hi @FLFOO ,

Thank you for visiting the Forums HP's Support and welcome. It's a great site for information and questions. I looked in your question on your HP ENVY 4-1204tx Ultrabook and issues with WiFi adapter is not working properly. Error codes in the Device Manager in Windows 8.1 could be fixed by removing any additional drivers. So I want to uninstall everything that is listed in the network drivers in Device Manager, reboot the laptop. Here is a list of the options in the Device Manager, it might help.

Here is a link to the HP Support Assistant, if you need it. Simply download and run the application and it will help with the software and drivers on your system that requires an upgrade or reinstall.

    I hope this helps.

    Thank you.

  • HP 15-f039wm: Re: qualcomm-atheros wifi adapter does not work with windows 8

    Hello HP support.

I have a HP 15-f039wm, product J8X12UA #ABA, running Windows 8.1.  I like it, but I thought I could improve it by upgrading to 8 GB, installation of a 240 GB SSD and move the 500 GB HARD disk to an external USB adapter.  So far, so good, so very jolly good.

I also wanted to upgrade the Wi - Fi adapter to a faster power adapter with Bluetooth 4.0, but instead to get the AC7260 from Intel, I settled for a Qualcomm Atheros AR9485 with the Bluetooth BT3012 device, which belongs to a HP, I think.

I shouldn't have paid.  Too late, I learned that the Atheros AR9485 has major compatibility problems.  Microsoft compatibility survey shows that some 530 speakers, 357 note as incompatible AR9485.

This pair Bluetooth adapter and connects with my cell phone, but it remains connected for less than a minute before it disconnects.  It does not connect with something else I have.  It does not recognize my Bluetooth phone earpiece, and he recognizes that rarely my Bluetooth keyboard, with which it will pair but it never connects.

The keyboard is a deal breaker - a must - have - and something really nice.  I tried the same Bluetooth keyboard sold by comb and Arteck jelly and a similar one by the EC technology, which has the top two rows of keys merged into one.  They connect immediately with an IPhone 4, but none of the three would be in contact with the BT3012 in my HP 15 - f039wm.

Microsoft recommends the most recent drivers as a fix for incompatibility issues.  I downloaded the NIC drivers and card with Bluetooth Bluetooth drivers for the AR9485/BT3012 of http://www.station-drivers.com .  That updated the Qualcomm Bluetooth driver version 8.0.1.273, date from mid-2013, that came with the BT3012 (AR9485) Microsoft version of the driver 8.0.1.344 card, day 23/04/15.  Even still, it connects to my cell phone but nothing else.

"Allow Windows to turn off this device to save power" is not checked for the adapter.  I also ran the 'netsh' command to clear the TCP/IP stack and reset the Winsock Catalog.  I have no intend to restore Windows to the factory; before that I would, I would get the Intel AC7260 more expensive card - that I probably do anyway, given the record of the incompatibility of the Qualcomm Atheros AR9485/BT3012.  I do not expect to change this folder, no matter what I do.

    But I'm open to suggestions.

Thank you in advance for taking the time to investigate this problem.

    Hi @gospelmidi,

    Thank you for your inquiry.

I take that you have swapped the hard drive and replaced the original card wireless and Bluetooth with the Qualcomm Atheros AR9485 with the Bluetooth BT3012 device and cannot associate with something other than your cell phone.  You tried to reset the TCP/IP stack, but there was no change.

Did you run HP Support Assistant to ensure you have all the updates from HP?

Have you tried to run the troubleshooter in Windows?

Alternatively, you can try the following steps.

Step 1. Go to Device Manager
Step 2. Right click on "Bluetooth device" you want
Step 3. Select "update driver software... »
Step 4. Choose "Browse my computer for driver software".
Step 5. Choose "Let Me pick from a list of drivers for devices on my computer.
Step 6. Select "Ports (COM & LPT)"
Step 7. Select "Microsoft" to the list of "manufacturers".
Step 8. Finally select "Standard series via a Bluetooth connection.

If you are unable to connect to a Bluetooth device, try the following:

Step 1. Search for 'Change device' in the start menu in Windows 8.
Step 2. Click on where it says change device installation settings.
Step 3. Select No, let me choose what to do option.
Step 4. Check the automatically get the device app option
Step 5. Click on save changes to save the settings that you select

    So, you can try this

Step 1: Go to RUN (Windows Logo + R) and type "services.msc" and Enter
Step 2: Now find 'Bluetooth Support Service' and double click it
Step 3: Now click on the Log on tab and type "Local Service" without the quotes
    Step 4. Click on "account".
Step 5: Now remove any authorization of passwords the password field blank
Step 6: Below the upper left title should be a hyperlink 'Start' click

    Help, please!

    Hey @Nidhi_Verma,.

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support! This is a great question other clients may also wonder; Please click the accept as a Solution, if you feel helps you to this post, or could help others.

My first suggestion would be to use the wireless network troubleshooting and Internet tool. At the bottom it will ask you questions to help you diagnose the problem.

Have you tried to restore the BIOS?

How long it has spent for?

Have you tried to do a system restore to a time when there is no present problem?

I understand that you receive an error message that says: "there could be a problem with the driver for the adapter Wi - Fi. Windows could not automatically bind the Protocol IP on the network card stack. »

Please try to uninstall the driver in Device Manager by using the following steps:

    • Go to the Device Manager.
    • Expand network adapters.
    • Right-click on all NICs individually.
    • Click on uninstall.
    • Restart the laptop twice.

If so far, none of these steps have helped, I suggest that you take a look at the document troubleshooting wireless network and Internet and follow each step from end to end.

Please use the HP Support Assistant network diagnostics or tool Internet and Windows network and if you need help, I would be more than happy to continue to help you. Please re-post with the results of the resolution of the problems. Please remember that you can show your appreciation by clicking thumbs-up.

I have reviewed the linked thread and it seems that the Microsoft experts provide assistance.  For after all this mentioned in the other thread, I perform a recovery and upgrade of Windows 8 again.  How the system has been upgraded to Windows 8 (on-site upgrade or a clean install)?  It would be an option of your time, but the problem seems to have returned and it not be resolved by the same steps it is already resolved.

Microsoft experts are asking for minidump files and not to necessarily show.  Ubuntu is Linux-based and minidumps of Windows is not supported natively.  A special program is needed to view them.  I am sure that the experts have a program that can display them as long as they have access to the minidumps.

In Ubuntu, you would access the material where the Windows folder is located.  In the Windows folder, there is a minidump folder.  By default, this is where the minidumps.  Access these files and then download or share them with the experts in the Councils of Microsoft.  Once they have access to them, they will be able to analyze them to provide responses more details.

  • Set up freshly - WIFI system does not

    Hey there,

After some virus problems, I set my system, formatting the hard drive and reinstall Windows. I also downloaded the update of the Lenovo system, all installed updates and downloaded the center of Solution ThinkVantage. Now the PC is working again BUT the WiFi adapter does not work. It seems to be non-existent, if I press F9 it says I'm supposed to press the switch of hardware. I have a ThinkPad Edge 15, there no such a change at all.

In the hardware Manager I find a network driver device, so I guess that's it. However, no driver seems to work. I downloaded the dirver (s) of WiFi on the Lenovo site and install, nothing happens. What can I do?

    Here is my card:

    -Thinkpad Edge 15

    -Windows 7 Home Premium (OEM)

-the driver I installed that did not work: Intel Wireless LAN (bg, abg, abgn) for Windows 7 (32 bit, 64 bit), XP - ThinkPad

Thank you in advance for help you! I am fairly certain that the works of material, before I set uo the WiFi system was not at all a problem.

    Best wishes

Usually, after the computer restarts, the drivers install automatically and it will stop the errors.

You can also refer to the computer or the network card manufacturer's Web site to download and install the latest version of the drivers for the network card.

  • RALink RT5390 wireless adapter does not work

My g6 pavilion laptop wifi adapter was not properly work recently. my internet router and networking are works well as it should, but whenever I restart my laptop, repeat me that there is no link and no other wifi networks when there are clearly other networks because of my neighbors.

I tried a system restore to solve the problem, but it has no effect and my norton affects the restoration of the system to disable the antivirus.

I'm stuck on ideas to solve this problem and I don't know much about networking and internet stuff, so I'm pretty powerless here

Here is a link to my features of laptops if necessary:

    http://support.HP.com/us-en/document/c03136241

These ralink adapters are simple ol ' sh * t. I don't know if it will be a complete solution for you, but I was pulling with my network card for months and this has proved to be the most effective for my computer. I have a HP Envy luck to be equipped with a Ralink RT3290, Windows 8.

    so...

Out of the box, my computer was working fine and it connected to the network OK. As soon as I moved further away from the router, I known constant dropouts, and the connection always folds between the low signal strength, to completely disconnect the router, where I had to re - connect manually there. This question really frustrating. I use my computer on the top level of my house, and the router is in the basement. If I was getting sick of this fast. Update driver after update driver, no luck. After trying everything under the Sun, I decided I would bite the bullet and I tried something a little bit Orthodox...

I just uninstalled the driver for my computer. Yes, really. When a component on your computer a driver is stripped, Windows software has a few drivers that will install by default for your material so that it can remain functional on your computer. So, once remove the driver ralink on my computer, windows installed sound driver by default for my network card and... Voila! My connection problems are virtually non-existent at this point. The material is not always the best, but at least I can surf the net in my room without my connection affected by constant stalling.

Now, other that the light on the button stuck wireless with an orange glow and list my NIC as #10 Device Manager, I always use this driver with minimum questions. Occasionally, he'll forget the connection once I wake the laptop from sleep, but this issue has been much worse with the ralink drivers than without.

If you are aware of the risk (what is low, to be realistic, this can always be undone and you can always reinstall drivers ralink so that deosn proved to be an effective solution), I will explain in detail how I managed to do.

    (1) open Device Manager (right click the lower left corner in windows 8 and a shortcut appears in the drop-down below)

    (2) find network adapters and display its contents

    (3) make a right click on your wireless network adapter (should be something similar to "Ralink RT5390 802.11b/g/n... ") and click on"Uninstall"in the menu drop-down

    (4) a popup should appear and you should be given the possibility to uninstall or cancel it. Make sure you check "suppression software driver for this device" until you go forward, or Windows re - install the ralink driver.

-Search for new hardware if your network card is not detected after you have uninstalled it. Your card should appear as "802.11n Wireless LAN card"

-If you have an installer driver ralink that is newer or equal to the driver that is already installed, you can run the Setup program to remove any driver software remains which is usually overlooked by the device during the uninstallation Manager there from your computer

-As an option, you can check potential driver leftover files C:\Windows\System32\Drivers. It is important to search for remains that Device Manager / ralink Installer may have missed because it can potentially conflict with the replacement of windows WLAN driver. pilots should have a short name for your adapter (e.g. rt3298.sys); they shouldn't be hard to find. Be careful as well; IT IS WISE TO ALWAYS SAVE no matter WHAT DRIVER SOFTWARE, YOU CAN REMOVE in CASE YOU MAKE a MISTAKE.

    (5) re - enter your information network and you should be good to go!

I hope that it is of no help to you. People who know nothing about what they will tell you to install the latest driver and yatta yatta yatta this way, because it does not work I had to take the liberty to try to find a solution for these adapters cursed myself. I hope this helps a bit your question!
