Lenovo Ideapad Y450 switch wireless works not

Hello

I bought an Ideapad Y450 is about 2 weeks and for the first time I tried to use wireless, it did not work. There were other additional software that I added such as Firefox and microsoft office 2007 at the time wherever I checked the wireless feature. Ichecked the on Device Manager (Intel WiFi Link 5100 AGN) network adapter and it seemed to work fine.

Later, I uninstalled the ReadyComm 4.0 software and internet Norton Security. I switched to AVG Antivirus. For some reason, the front switch and the Fn + F5 started working and I was delighted. Unfortunately, the next day, the wireless radio just stopped working. The front switch and the shortcut (Fn + F5) no longer work. I called technical support and asked me to reinstall the driver for the network card - did not work. I rebooted the computer on safe mode - didn't work. I guess something must have been installed automatically via windows update.

I'm trying to avoid having to use the recovery key to activate the computer back to the factory settings (I did not a recovery yet disc).

I hope that someone has experienced the same thing before and could help me.

I could understand not just what prevents the computer to turn on the wireless capability. I know that the switch works because one day when he did. Or is the switch just partially broken?

Thank you very much for all your suggestions. I should have updated all the you what happened to my laptop. What I did about a month and half ago was so I used the one key recovery option offered by Lenovo to restore my laptop to its factory settings. I lost all the software that I installed in my laptop, but it was worth it. My wireless and bluetooth works now. I can turn them on and off. The switch works. The Fn + F5 shortcut works. I backed up all my files until I reinstalled my whole hard drive so that the process was not too painful for me.

Right now, I have Lenovo ReadyComm 4.0 in my computer and in some sort, it has not been any problem with my wireless connection. If all goes well it will never.

Thanks again for your help!

  • Satellite E205-S1904 - switch wireless works do not (not light)

Hi ~ I have a SAT E205-S1904 and he died a few months ago. I took it to be fixed and they said it was a software problem and that fixed it.

Before I took it in my switch wireless did work. Now, there is no light, and it does not have the kid who fixed, he says the material was very well and he couldn't understand why it wasn't. I have a WiFi connection in my house, what makes this laptop completely unusable for me. I have windows 7 on it.

    What Miss me?

How should we know what are you missing?
I put t understand how it stopped working suddenly.

Question is: what did you do with your machine?

Also, I think it's software related, but on this virtual path issue, it is not easy to say what the problem is here. Fact is that this function is controlled by software that runs in the background. Maybe you stopped him somehow.

What you can do is to reinstall the OS again and again test the functionality with the factory settings.

  • Vista 64 home wireless works not

I was unable to get the wireless working on my Vista 64 Home machine. Both devices are known to work with Vista 64 bit, and the hardware is functional. I tried to install a card PCI of MSI. When it does not. I thought that perhaps the material was bad and I tried installing one of Belkin USB device, which also did not work. I tested the USB on my laptop XP and had no problems with it. It is functional. I did a clean installation of the operating system, and who did not clear the problem up.

The aircraft seemed to be installed correctly, but in trying to "Activate" them, they would not allow (I click on enable, and the unit would continue to say it has been disabled) and I would get an error message just saying there is a hardware problem. I tried to update the drivers. I tried the two for the PCI device pci slots and then all the USB to the USB ports and nothing. I have no problem with other hardware, just the wireless. Is there a setting or a component in Vista somewhere that I'm missing? I can't find anyone else having a similar problem when you use one of these wireless devices. They were able to install and use them in Vista 64 without problem. I don't want to go out and spend money on a 3rd device when question seems to be something of another feature WiFi preventing it from working at all. The NETWORK adapter and modem are working on together. I even tried to disable the wired connection, perhaps thinking that it was stuffy on two courses of activation, but that did not fix the problem.

System: Gateway LX6810 running Vista Home Premium 64-bit

    Tried wireless devices:
BELKIN F5D7050 Wireless G USB (confirmed working on XP laptop hardware)
MSI PC60G wireless Turbo G PCI card (not tested elsewhere, assume is functional, since it is the same problem experienced with the working USB adapter)

I did operate and found that the problem seems to be with Zone Alarm Security Suite. The good news is that this is easily resolved by installing wireless devices before installing ZA. If ZA is already installed, the solution is to uninstall, reboot, install wireless equipment (to confirm that it works of course), then reinstall ZA. ZA commissioning disabling does not work (it must be done in ZA himself. She will not put in service must be disabled the "Selective startup" tool). It must also not be installed at all when the hardware is installed. You can reinstall once you have confirmed that the wireless hardware is installed and functional.

I found a thread somewhere (wish I could remember the link) where people have had the same problem and in some cases change a registry value sets. In other cases, this fix did not work. A lot of people had functional wireless and then lost and pointed out the problem seemed to start after installation or update of antivirus, security, or anti-spyware program but none mentioned Zone Alarm, which is what I use for my anti-badthings. So I decided to see if the problem is a conflict with this software, and of course, that seems to be the case. I've tried different combinations of installation of the equipment with ZA, off and uninstalled. I had both the USB and the PCI to work, but only if I followed this task sequence.

    1. Uninstall ZA
    2 reset
3 equipment wireless, and to confirm the work
    4 reboot
    5 install ZA

For a new installation of the operating system or which 3rd party security software is not already installed, simply jump to step 3. Don't forget to create a restore point after that the wireless works, just in case where.

For people have the same problem, even without ZA specifically, it's certainly worth trying this if the deactivation of elements of commissioning is not the case. I am able to run the software and the wireless at the same time without problem. ZA has just needs to be installed only after the wireless hardware has been installed successfully.

I don't know what it is with ZA and Vista that interact to this. I'll go dig deeper on their forums to see if I can't find other useful information. I am pleased to have the son disappeared again. Cords management is always a problem when you share space with rabbits. :-D

  • HP PhotoSmart D110 - Wireless work not at all

I can't believe it! I bought a PhotoSmart D110 and it worked fine for 3 months. Now, I'm very frustraded. Whenever I need to print something from any of my computers at home wireless, I need to put the printer off, wait a few minutes and turn again. Then I print 4 pages and I need to do it again. So annoying!

I've tried everything! Reinstalled the drivers on my MacBook. Reset the factory settings on the printer control panel. Update the firmware of the printer. Update my firmware wireless (which is a Linksys EA-2700).

I don't know what else I can do about it.

I did research on many Foruns on the internet for some tips and there are tons of people complaing to the same problem, not only on this model, but also a whole bunch of other HP printers.

And yuou know what... There is no response from your HP.

Common CV, you used be better! What is going on? Not sure how to solve the problem of your customer! You sell a "disposable" printer that only works for 3 months?

What should I do? Buy another printer? If this is your solution, do not expect that I will be your customer again!

Rembember that 'no response' is the worst response you can give to your customers!

And don't be afraid of social media... Open your Facebook Page for people to post their opinion. Or at least send a response when someboday tweet @HP... I'm still waiting!

Looking forward to hearing from you SOON with a solution!

    Hey, thanks for your response.

I tried to do, but it did not work, however I found another way and until now my wireless works. Finnaly.

Here's what I did on my Mac.

    (1) on my system preference, I clicked on the icon 'Print & Scan'. I remove my printer by clicking the (-) signal. Just for the record, I didn't uninstall the HP printing software, but clearly myself as I got the latest version (as you mentioned in your response);

    (3) I printed my HP printer (directly) config page on the Panel. To find the IP address of my printer.

    (2) I click on the (+) sign of the signal, and then I clicked on the option "add a printer or a scanner. On the prompt box, I chose the "Intellectual property" tab (with a globe);

    (3) on the address field, I inserted my IP address of the printer (the same that I found on the page that I printed on my printer).

    (4) HERE IS THE MAGIC: on the Protocol drop-down list there are 3 options: "IPP", "LPD" and "HP Jetdirect - taken.

YOU MUST CHOOSE "HP Jetdirect - Socket" - it's Important for a configuration of the House, okay?

    (5) waiting-I left empty

    (6) name = name of my printer 'HP Photosmart D110' but you can add what you want

    (7) location = you can leave it blank. I added "Home".

    (8) use = assigned automatically

    (9) i clicked on 'ADD '.

    (10) may be another box will ask you to select a driver to associate with your printer. In my case, I choose "HP Photosmart D110 series.

    FACT!

Now, it's work and I hope it lasts forever!

I hope this helps others with the same annoying problem.

And HP, please make our lives easier! Create a better explanation or software that make it happen automatically.

  • Satellite A75 - switch wireless works only with the Intel wireless network adapter

The Atheros card that came with my Satellite A75 had questions, so I installed an Intel 2200.
According to Device Manager, everything works and is properly installed and should work, but the message I get is the wi - fi switch.

It is placed at the position, but the indicator light lights up and the Intel card does not connect without it. The light comes on with the Atheros, but this card hangs the system.

A few months ago, I borrowed an Intel 2200 on an IBM and put it in the A75 temporarily and it worked fine, that's why I bought the Intel.

I tried the FN + the button with the antenna, but no effect, even if it also works with the Atheros.
Y at - it another way to activate the wi - fi in addition to the switch and the FN, or is there a way to disable the switch function if the computer doesn't even know it's there?

    Maybe it works.

    Thank you.

  • Time Warner wireless works not well with my laptop Dell Inspiron... Help!

I use Time Warner Cable as my Internet service provider. However, my Dell Inspiron laptop does not seem to work well with it. It is said that I am connected to my computer with full bars no matter where in the House and I can browse the internet most of the time, but often, the connection is cut and I can't watch videos on the internet without him having to buffering every two seconds, even on the lowest of low quality. I cleaned my computer, released space, tried to get closer to the router, using different browsers, but nothing helped. I think it was something wrong with the internet except my two computers work well with her roommates and one has a Mac and the other has a Samsung laptop. However, my laptop connects both Internet everywhere elsewhere I'll and have a Wi - Fi access, so this makes no sense. How can I get my laptop to better synchronize with my internet at home? Competent advice would be greatly appreciated

    What site you run to?
    What browser do you use?

Try using a wired connection and test if you are able to broadcast normally or not.

If the problem persists when you use a wired connection, you can try a system restore back to a point before this problem started.

  • Adapter network on laptop computer Lenovo IdeaPad U350, works do not since upgrading to Windows 7.

    Hello.
Am running windows 7 on a laptop computer Lenovo IdeaPad U350, but experiencing problems with the network adapter. Wireless connection works, but I can not connect via the direct cable connection. All of the updates were made and in device, the network card Manager (Broadcom 802.11 g network adapter) seems to work fine, BUT still I can't connect. I downloaded the driver from the manuvacturer (Lenovo) and installed. He still does not!

Any ideas how to solve this problem? I am currently connected to the internet via a wireless connection, but need a wired connection.

    PLEASE HELP :)

Here's a solution - eventually had to resort to using the Ethernet coz I had to transfer massive amounts of data and using the WiFi was just a bad idea.

Agree with the above the drivers Lenovo doesn't have just a whole bunch of stuff (unzip, etc, etc) and curiously does not seem to go through the process to INSTALL anything... disappointment.

For those of you who know how to get to the old plant 'Disc' (Yes, they still exist in Win7), you can get your hands on the drivers here http://www.broadcom.com/support/ethernet_nic/netlink_k57.php--est comes with the good old INF files to tell the system what and where to install

Go to disc (fuck..... another Google process [Bing since I'm on a MS Web site] the answer)...

    0 have the Admin rights
    1. open your browser.
    2. right click on computer / my computer > properties > Device Manager
    3. I hope that the offending devices (Ethernet in this case) shows prominently in the other category
4 click on it > properties
5 looking around for the the driver update button
6 browse my computer for training software
    7. just choose from devices... (blah blah)
    8 have Disk (tada!)
    9. then point just where you have unpacked the driver with the permission of Broadcomm files.

    Hope that helps.
