LGS528 / LGS552 - OK to mount vertically?

Hello

The LGS528 / LGS552 switches are fanless, so I would like to know if it is completely safe to mount vertically with the ports up towards the ceiling, without risking the possibility of overheating and void the warranty?

The manual makes no mention of vertical or wall mounting. I realize the side vents must be cleared and put blank cards in unused ports may be used to prevent collection of dust.

This isn't a deal breaker if you cannot do, but it can be useful for finding the optimal installation location and the path of the cables.

Thank you!

Linksys engineering confirmed that it is a danger to the security of mounted vertically, not advisable.

    {Problem solved]

Even if I wish to withdraw my original question that I started too early, I think that my answer may still be useful to someone who needs to know where the HD is mounted despite its obvious location.  The HD is locked in a metal cage mounted vertically behind the bottom of the front cover of the computer.   You can not miss.

I had not actually removed the HD but the mysterious presence of an HD 20 GB lying around the computer made me think that she belonged to the machine. I should have better because the 5000US came with a 30 GB hard drive.

Right-click on an empty spot on the desktop and choose "Customize".
Click "View," then "change display settings." You will see images
your two monitors here. Drag one of them (whatever one you have
on top) on top of the other, and then click 'OK '.

  • Desktop HP ENVY Phoenix 860VX: how to replace ssd boot drive in a desktop HP ENVY Phoenix 860VX?

I bought a desktop computer HP ENVY Phoenix 860VX with an SSD of 256 GB of disk as a boot disk with a disk of 1 TB storage.  I have a Samsung Evo Pro 500 GB SSD I want to use as the startup disk.  I cloned the original drive to the Samsung Evo without problem.  I opened the PC folder to move hard disks, and I can't find the SSD drive.  I found the pretty easy storage of 1 TB drive but cannot find the SSD drive.  Can anyone help?

    Greetings,

You can have a PCIe M.2 (Non - SED) Solid State Drive 256Go.

This drive connects to the motherboard, it's the size of a stick of gum.

It can be mounted vertically or stand flat on the motherboard (MB).

M2 the drive is much faster than an SATA 3 SSD.  You may not be happy with this change if you bought a SATA 3 SSD. You might be better off going to a 512 GB m2 if the MB supports. I noticed that the m2 drive runs closer to the rated speed when using a k i7 - 5930 or an i7-5960 x due to the track of 40 PCIe bus as opposed to 28 tracks on the i7-5820 k.

It should be close to the PCIe slots. ASRock, Asus and Gigabyte locate M.2 slots here as it connects with the bus PCIe x 16 and uses the bandwidth of one of the 16 slots x.

If this is true, install the SATA SSD in the available Bay HHD using an adapter 2.5 inches. Then change the default boot device in the BIOS for the SATA SSD. You may need to experiment on what SATA port you use. EFI can be finicky. It is also possible that you may have to reinstall the original image. I have an Asrock x 99 card in m.2. Asrock BIOS is much more forgiving and configurable. I'm not familiar with MB of your PC or the boot configuration options available during the passage of a m2 boot device to a boot SATA device.

This change of equipment could also ruin to restore the PC using the original image. It depends on whether this change of equipment is a configurable option to purchase.

    See you soon!

  • HP ENVY 750se desktop PC: turn around blu - ray player?

    Hello

I just got the desktop PC HP ENVY 750se with Blu - ray burners and burner DVD SuperMulti burner.

Everything works fine. My problem is the orientation of the reader.

It would have been better if the reader was prepared horizontally.  Not happened.  HP box should go on the right side of my desktop, drive is mounted vertically, and this is my chance that the orientation of the player opposite me who puts Assembly and disassembly of the ackward media CD/DVD/Bluray and quite a twist of the wrist excersize.

Until I opened the box and experiement if I can go back to the disc, so he faced me, is this doable from a material point of view? Or is the disc material permanently set to this position to damndable?

I think that my last resort is to order my office by placing the box on its side and to serve as a basis for my monitor.  If the Player cannot be reversed, ok to run the HP box on the side?

    Any help or advice appreciated.

    Thank you.

    Hello @Ryck,

    Thanks for the reply!

If you place the office in a horizontal position, then the event must be correct upwards?  I don't think that should be a problem.  However, if placing the office horizontally, covers the vent, so I do not recommend it.

    I hope this helps.

    Kind regards!

  • Pavilion 550-110: help adding Blu - Ray desktop player

I would like to replace the existing DVD drive (tray ultra slim SuperMulti DVD burner) on a Pavilion 550-110 desktop PC with a Blu - ray player.

The existing unit is mounted vertically in the case. I replaced the DVD drive with a Blu - ray on a HP PC 500-281 player, where it has been mounted horizontally.

If this same blu - ray player could be reused on the new 550-110?

If this isn't the case, please suggest a particular (or brand) type of Blu - ray player-player. I used to look first on Amazon.com for this type of product.

Any help or advice would be appreciated.

    Thank you.

  • HP Pavilion Slimline s5623w - try to find a burner blu ray with hook in case of ejection

I want to upgrade my optical drive to a blu ray burner and the problem is that the 5.25 Bay is not visible on this model of hp. It is mounted vertically behind a grid and the actual eject disk button is not accessible. Is there a button on the case itself to open and close the drive that is controlled by a small wire connecting from the button on the case of a small port at the back of the current drive.

I looked through pictures of every single blu ray burner on the market and it seems that not a single one has this feature.

I'm not a perfectionist, but inconsistencies upset me and that just asking the question... Why this didn't think? I even checked real HP burners-blu ray thinking of course what they would think of this small but important feature... but no luck.

If someone knows any of this a blu ray burner please inform me! I just wouldn't be able to bear have a button that does not work and have to use myComputer to open the tray!

  • ea6300, RIP...

Fifteen months after the purchase, has always worked as advertised and has gone through fairly heavy use with media server traffic, day after day. Aside from a few minor nitpicking, I was happy with it and do not anticipate replacement anytime soon...

The wired ethernet still works, so not ready to bury him, but Wireless N is gone, and 5 GHz band is gone, too weak signals to connect with any device, even in the same room. Tried the reset, no go... It's done.

We had a hot summer here, in our home, Records for my city. I have the ea6300 mounted vertically on a wall with a gap of 2 cm below for fair ventilation but took no extra precautions with it on the heat. It worked without complaint or stumble through many weeks of all about 85-90 in the room. Chess came the last hot summer days. No warning, no error message... It is now just a zombie.

I ordered a new router, it (wireless-g and ethernet) continuing in the meantime. Then we will be sitting on a computer laptop cooler 24/7. .. We use our hard, but I think it would have lasted a little longer I had kept this cooler. I think with 20-20 hindsight that he could better get just wifi by another full unit...

    Stay cool, everyone.

Well... it's embarrassing. After resetting the thing once, I decided oh well, wouldn't hurt to try once again, it is intended to be a Clipboard soon anyway...

Reset and reconfigured once again, but anyway... it worked! In the meantime, I ordered and installed an ea6900 refurbished which gives me no drama whatsoever, so it remains standing and the ea6300 will be the backup device.

  • New E4200, turns hot...

I've just implemented a new E4200 today (refurbished, but new to me * smile *), and I find it works well but it is running more hot that I'm comfortable with.  Especially the Metal around the outside gets hot... I guess that the Metal is used to transfer the heat from some hot chips on the backstage of the case.  I see several possibilities for cool... a cooling (similar to a Tablet) pad, vertical mounting, the highest feet allowing more air in.

I'm looking for alternatives to people who have solved this problem.  I don't see any easy ways to climb vertically to get more air along the metal strip, any ideas?  I like the idea of a cooling pad, extra air flow would be really useful, but I don't want the noise or extra energy consumption, and will run 24 hours per day as my router does.  I'm so looking more passive cooling methods.  I don't know that if put on feet taller would really help, I have some cabinets self-adhesive bumpers that are larger than the feet molded case I thought to use, but I think more about 1/2 "high and are not very high.  I'll probably go hardware tomorrow and see what I can find.

Because most routers can be mounted vertically, including older models of Linksys, I don't know why Linksys went away from this idea.

Anyway, has anyone find a way to keep these things cooler?

    Thank you.

Well, I got some of this corner moulding wood or V-L shaped autour.  I positioned to sit as a triangle with the point along the bottom of the case of router and the open end on the surface where the router was sitting.    Used 2 4 "pieces, one on each side, which raises the router a bit more than an inch.  Now, I would say the Metal is more what I would call 'hot '.

I don't know why the case is not to be defined either vertically or horizontally, Linksys, used to do this, but the above montage gives enough of extra air space to make me much more comfortable on the router longer.  And it seems very well... I suppose I could paint the wood of the same color as the case of the router, but I'm not motivated to do it right now * smile *.

  • vibrations in the dvd recorder

I get a vibration in my DVD drive preinstalled. It has been like this since it was new. 9 out of 10 CD / DVD will have this vibration. It is not horizontal mounted vertical if it makes a difference. I tried all the different discs and they all have a vibration. It can be felt in the computer and can be heard as a low hum through the desktop computer.

    FYI

I'm wrong about the vibration in any position. The vibration disappeared when the computer laying on its side. I've only tried a few discs, but they were all smoothly when the player is in a horizontal position. I do not end contact HP and they were very fast and we will send another DVD drive in a few days. I hope that the new run a little better in a vertical position.

Once again, thank you to you both for your input.

  • Bad range CISCO aironet 1310 built-in antenna

    Hello

    I'm at the Canada

I am trying to configure an AIRONET 1310 with INTEGRATED antenna

to work as a point of access for customers on a campsite

The range I get is ugly (50 feet off the signal completely)

the aironet overflows and no trees are block it.

I have it configured by default except:

-in the network interfaces: Radio0-802. 11 g setting

-I changed default value of best range DATA FLOWS

    Hello

Model 1300 integrated antenna comes with an antenna gain 13dBi vertically polarized. The width of the beam is 36 ° E-plane by 38 ° H-plane.

    Here is the range-

    Americas

    • 865 feet (260 m) at 54 Mbps

    • 3465 feet (1055 m) at 11 Mbps

    ETSI

    • 150 feet (45 meters) to 54 Mbps

    • 775 feet (235 m) at 11 Mbps

    TELEC

    • 485 feet (145 meters) at 54 Mbps

    • 1095 feet (330 m) at 11 Mbps

If the range of what you get is far too low.

Please check the orientation of the AP, the antenna is polarized vertically.

If the AP must be mounted vertically.

Second, make a note to the beam width 36 ° E-plan by 38 ° H-plane. Make sure that all your clients are only in this coverage area. If its an open area and that you probably want coverage for global client area I wouldn't go to this access point is a sector antenna is not coverage in all 360 ° H-plan.

  • What is best soft CC for the creation of a DVD of a slide show, please?

    Hello team!

I have nine jpeg images I need to run a simple loop on a 32 '' tv with crossfade.  I am subscribed creative cloud so I have access to the most recent CC applications.  I usually make videos in Premiere Pro, so I tried body for my project, exported a via Media Encoder .m2v file and created a DVD using Encore CS6.  I don't have any white Blu ray so I have not tried export/creation of a comic book.  Reading through the SD DVD resolution is not acceptable.  I need the sharp images, without unwanted artifacts.  I even tried Lightroom, but had even worse results.

I've provided, I hope, the necessary information below to help you help me determine the best application/settings/etc to make a DVD of high quality of these images.

    My system:

    My System.jpg

    My typical asset:

(image is 90 degrees on purpose;) TV will be mounted vertically)

    My sequence:

    My agency export settings:

    My Ppro Export Settings.jpg

I noticed that the Width and Height parameters are locked; don't know if this is part of my problem.

Is anyone able to help?  Thanks in advance!

    Hello

Resolution of the images you use in this project is 8250 x 4650.

And that you export MPEG 2 DVD, which will give you a resolution of 720 x 480.

This option (width & height) is not locked, it is a limitation with this format.

Video high definition may be stored on Blu - ray discs with up to 1080 p resolution (1920 × 1080 pixels), to up to 60 (59.94) field or 60 frames per second.

However, DVD discs had been limited to a maximum resolution of 480i (NTSC, 720 × 480 pixels) or 576i (PAL, 720 × 576 pixels).

Thus, you degrade the quality of the images of 8250 x 4650 up to 720 x 480.

In addition, Adobe Encore is the only option for DVD/Blu-Ray.

    Thank you

  • Frame content

    InDesign CC Release 2014.2

When I want to adjust the image to the text, I always use the "'Frame made content" shortcut (command + Alt + C) on my Mac. "

Sometimes he adapts to the height of the image to the content and sometimes it is also for height and width, but I can't understand why sometimes it's one thing or the other...

Is there an extra step to the framework to adapt to the content?

What are the conditions that the text must fulfil to be either mounted vertically only or vertically and horizontally?

If the content is other-than-text, you'll get mounting height and width every time.

If the content is a single line of text, you'll get mounting height and width every time. When the text already occupies more than one line, you get mounting height only.
