Libguide40.dll in C:\Windows\Wow64: is it necessary for Windows to operate?

Running Windows 7 with a new system.  Processor Intel 5930 K, and also has the Thunderbolt chip (intel).

Many people have complained that Libguide40.dll (an older file) is in conflict with Intel new Libiomp5md.dll that is used with the existing programs and new processors, etc.

This error occurs when you use the latest version of Cyberlink burning software.  I get the error trying to burn a new data CD with drivers updated for a program I use.

More specifically, you get an error saying 15 OMP libguide40.lib is there, but also found libiomp5md.lib and if the program does not know what to do.

They say to go to the environment variable and to KMP_Duplicate_lib_OK = True to ignore the conflict of the library, but Intel says you can delete the file Libguide40.dll and keep up with the libiomp5md.dll, but no guarantee there is not no effect Windows System.

Libguide40.dll is therefore necessary to ensure that windows 7 works?

CyberLink (the CD for LG burners) has the libiomp5md.dll as part of the installation of my blu - ray drive

If I uninstall the libguide40 or rename it, Windows will crash?

Thank you

NH

This has happened for a very long time.

Is that what the text complete and accurate of what the message said exactly?  (there is no sysbm.cpl in XP, but there's a sysdm.cpl).

What happens if you click on start, run and enter in the box:

    sysdm.cpl

  • Mfc120u.dll reports of Windows is missing

I get an error message indicating that mfc120u.dll is missing. I have a laptop HP running windows 7, I ran a scan of the system with no result. How can I reload the missing file?

[Edit Moderator: changed the title of "Bob Morton", 'mfc120u.dll reports of Windows is missing']

It's that all the message says: "mfc120u.dll is missing" or is there more to the message than that?

When you searched your system for the file missing is you find it?

If the system is working properly, what do you think happened to him since the last time, that he did not work properly?

Have you installed/uninstalled/updated of new programs or applications lately?

These files that mfc name being part of Microsoft Visual Studio and there could be a number on your system then here is what mine looks like after searching that specific file:

When you browse to your system that you see (or not)?

    I suggest two things:

First of all, would you please change the subject of your column of "Bob Morton" more evocative of the question as:

mfc120u.dll is missing on my system

That might help future generations with a similar question find it more easy :-)

Second read answer of ElderN in the next/topic link (involving mfc110u.dll) except replace your lack of file name if necessary:

  • Windows 7 Twain_32.dll error in Windows 7

I put it under "Windows 7 Pro Twain error" but no answer - so I'll try again.

I have a problem with a player wireless network Epson Twain_32.dll. With this scanner you apparently have no driver in itself if you seem to be impossible to remove the driver, you must remove the program from the list of programs and then re-load the Analyzer disk from the supplier program.

Whenever I do and then try to scan, I get "missing or damaged Twain_32.dll".

The provider insists that it is a Windows problem.

According to responses to other similar topics in this forum I renamed (rather than deleted) the Windows/Twain_32 folder and there is also a Windows/Twain_32.dll file that I also renamed.

I rebooted (cold) and get the same problem.

I see that somehow a new Windows\Twain_32 file has been generated, but is no longer a Windows\Twain_32.dll file C:\Windows\.

I am at a loss I can then do with this machine.

    Please help if you can!

    Hi Frank,.

Thanks for posting your query in Microsoft Community.

Let's try the methods below and check.

Method 1: Rebuilding the icon cache

    a. in Windows Explorer, open the Windows folder.
    b. remove all files starting with 'Twain' or "Twunk" (for example, Twain_32.dll).
    c. remove all files starting with "Twain" (for example, Twain_32).

    d. restart Windows.

    e. the icon cache has been rebuilt.

Method 2: Try to run the installation in a clean boot state and check if it helps.

Place your system in the clean boot state helps determine if third-party applications or startup items are causing the problem. You must follow the steps in the article mentioned below to perform a clean boot.

How to perform a clean boot in Windows

Note: see 'How do I reset the computer to start normally after a boot minimum troubleshooting' to reset the computer starts normally after troubleshooting.

Hope this information is useful. Please feel free to answer in the case where you are facing in the future other problems with Windows.

I noticed the node having a rather odd way of user32.dll on the initial load of the library call. You happen to have copied this DLL somewhere and SEO with full path to your VI?

It is a very big NO-NO! User32.dll and several other Windows system dll weird for the system and are all bad behavioured if you try to load another copy elsewhere on the disk as the system directory. Just rename the user32.dll library only and let Windows choose the good DLL from the system directory.

Another problem with specifying the full path to a copy of such a DLL, it of that LabVIEW you will think that you must have this built application-specific DLL and will include it in the build. However your user32.dll is almost 200% VERY incompatible to any other Windows system there, because of the Windows Service Pack version and upgrades of the correction of a bug, as well as different versions of Windows.

You can download the file from

It is not quite the last version (SP3 has v. 5.1.2600.5512, but this should not matter too much.

I looked in all 3 locations on my computer (so a file search in Windows Explorer) and the file is not there. My family Windows XP Edition installation disc has been "pre SP3", then would not contain the file... It is my understanding that XP Professional has this file, but not XP Home Edition (and may not need)... JRosenfeld, thank you very much for taking the time to answer!
