Library of 488,1

We use an Institute National GPIB-PCIIA (serial number Assembly 180810-01 01468) to control a susceptometer. The hard drive just crashed and is unreadable. We have the backup of control program and the program of Quickbasic 4.5, but cannot find a backup of the 488,1 library. Can someone tell us where we might be able to get a copy?

The name of the company is National Instruments unless you really mean Institute and in this case, you are on the wrong website.

For products National Instruments GPIB, go here, find your Board and click on the link of the desired driver.

  • Installation of NI-VISA and NOR-488. 2 on Mac

    I have a new Mac on which I am trying to install instrumentation OR (VISA and GPIB) pilots, and things don't work any tips would be appreciated. I downloaded the most recent version of these two (14.0 visa) and 3.0.1 for the GPIB, ran the installers (restart the computer between the two installed) and then tried to run the VISA configuration utility and the GPIB configuration utility to verify that the drivers were ok (at this point, no measuring equipment is attached to the machine (ultimately, the material will be a USB-> RS232 adapter and a USB-> adapter GPIB).

    The two configuration utilities crashed running. Config GPIB obtained in what concerns to the top of its window and then crashed a few seconds later; NI-VISA never even managed to finish to display the home screen.

    In reviewing reports of incidents, accidents seem to be in the OR-PAL driver at low altitude. The report indicates that

    / Library/Frameworks/nipalu. Framework/versions/1/nipalu

    Abort() called

    Poking around the list of files mentioned in the uninstall NOR-PAL guide, it seems that the kernel extension nipalk.kekt was not actually installed correctly (it is absent of/Library/Extensions and/System/Library/Extensions, and according to the uninstall folder, it should be present in both. I tried to copy the kext above a machine that does not have a functioning VISA/GPIB install, but OSX refused to load because it has not actually been installed.

    My plan right now is follow the uninstaller for VISA, GPIB and NOR-PAL and then try to run the installers, but I fear that I will end up in the same place. Y at - it something special or something needed to get these drivers to install correctly (i.e. should things be installed in a specific order, should I try to install VISA 5.4 and then do an upgrade installation 14, try to sacrifice a goat, stuff like that)?

    The material is a Mini Mac OSX 10.9.5 running.

    Thanks for any help.

    And just to follow up with a few additional details, I went through the same procedure on a second Mac that was fresh out of the box. When running Setup for NOR-488, one of the things that we tried to install was an "Update" the subsystem NI Core Services of pilots. This was despite the fact that the VISA facility has implemented a much newer version of the kernel drivers.

    Thus, it seems that the problem is that NEITHER-488 Setup does not correct version control before overwriting the subsystem of pilots. He obviously checked that the driver has been installed, since the action has been listed as "update" instead of "install".  At least in principle, running the installer of NOR-488 first, then the VISA installer should work, but for some reason some the only time where I tried in my tests, it did not work. Maybe, I haven't had a full work of sanitation among other failed attempts. Just for the record, is the sequence that seems to work

    (0) remove all traces of any agreement, failed to install. Follow the steps described in the files uninstall.txt for NOR-488. 2, NI-VISA and NOR-PAL. The uninstall for this latter guide is located in/Library/Application Support / National Instruments/NOR-PAL

    (1) perform a standard installation of NI-VISA 14.0. Restart the computer. Check VISA works (just run the config utility)

    (2) perform a standard installation of NOR-488. 2 3.0.1. Restart the computer. The VISA and GPIB crash when access

    (Optional) curse (2A) to the length

    (3) perform a standard installation of NI-VISA 14.0. Restart the computer. The VISA and GPIB should now be functional.

    Tested on a pair of 'Late 2012' Mac mini OSX 10.9.4 running. One machine was Labview 2014 before you install the drivers for the instrumentation, the other had not installed LabVIEW.

  • NEITHER 488.2 - 3.1.1 Setup error (windows 7)

    Hello

    I tried to install the NI-488 driver. 2 for connecting a GPIB-USB-HS device on my computer.

    All my test failed (run as administrator, disable my antivirus software,...).

    The attached messages appeared.

    Thanks in advance for your advice

    I solved the problem. This is because there are several in my company administator rights.

    I can't install software that modify the windows or other low level library.

  • VISA lib parallel query the former instrument 488

    I looked around to see if there is an answer for this, but I can't seem to find. I want to use the VISA library to communicate with an Amplitude of Phase Scientific Atlanta 1780 receiver, and I need to be able to read the status byte parallel survey (a special status byte is made available only through parallel survey, not poll serial). I was not able to find a function in the VISA library that can do. Is there a function I am missing, or is there another way to do it?

    Thank you

    Victor

    Documentation so that it should have been included when you installed the driver NOR-488. 2.

    Because, in my experience, the parallel survey is rarely used, very low level function, it is possible that it does not have visa. Conversion to series survey to see your instrument is a possible workaround.

  • NEITHER 488. 2 software omitting Troubleshooter

    I can't control my instruments using my well-known software and a GPIB-USB-HS controller well known.  I use Teststand to call VB6 and VB.NET code that works on other PCs.  I am running Windows 7 and help NOR 488.2 version 2.8.

    OR MAX identifies the controller and my instruments.  I am able to communicate with my instruments using NI MAX.  However, the troubleshooter indicates that the software is a failure.

    The 'Help' button States:

    Unknown error OR-488. 2 software
    A problem of software OR-488. 2 stranger occurred. Follow these steps to resolve the problem before calling National Instruments:

    Reboot your system.
    Re-run the troubleshooter of NOR-488. 2.
    If you still have the problem, try the following:

    Fix the NOR-488. 2 for Windows software.
    Reboot your system.
    Re-run the troubleshooter of NOR-488. 2.

    Of course, these steps does not resolve the problem.

    My software is unable to get a handle to the controller and my function calls do not meet anything in OR-SPY.

    I tried to install the latest version of 488.2 (3.1.1) which did not help.  I tried to uninstall all software of NOR and then re-install only the 488.2 software.  That does not help either.

    Any thoughts?

    I found the solution to this problem.

    We use a modbus ICS Electronics GPIB converter to talk to a thermal room Watlow F4 controller.  The ICS module comes with a utility and drivers.  Do not only software, but our technician installed anyway.  Part of this installation includes a file called "gpib - 32.dll '.  The software OR also uses a file called "gpib - 32.dll '.  Our software has BEEN overlooked because he has access to this library and find something completely unexpected.  I replaced the .dll file with a working facility and that fixes the problem.

    Interesting that 'Repair' or "Uninstall/reinstall" could address this problem.

    Furthermore, gpib - 32.dll is not in C:\Windows\System32 on my install Windows7.  It is in C:\Windows\SysWOW64\.

  • Could not receive data from GPIB system controller (PCI card of NI - 488-2)

    Hello

    We create a daughter card that will allow our product shipped to communicate via GPIB. This girl GPIB card must be able to receive the SCPI message send by system GPIB controller and reply to the message. In my current configuration, system controller is a card PCI of NOR-488. 2 installed on a PC running Windows XP.

    On the side of card GPIB girl, we have NAT7210 with 75160 and 75161 transceiver chips. NAT7210 is connected to the interface of static memory controller (SMC) an Atmel ARM9 embedded Linux OS running. We use the Linux GPIB library on sourceforge - http://linux-gpib.sourceforge.net/ .

    For now, chip NAT7210 initialization stage seems to be successful. Using Measurement & Automation Explorer software that comes with the NI GPIB PCI card, it is able to detect the daughter GPIB card; the cushion and the sad values are correct. However, chip NAT7210 has failed to receive the * IDN system controller message.

    Here's what I did to initialize the NAT7210:

    (1) set 0 x 99 in SPMR register. To make sure that we are 7210.

    (2) in AUXMR the value 0 x 02 (chip reset at the controls). To affirm the message local pon.

    (3) skip the step that defines the ICR and registered ICR2 because we use the default clock 8 Mhz.

    (4) the value 0 x 31 (addressing Dual mode) in the register of the ADMR.

    (4) together in ADR 0x01 to register.

    (5) contained SPMR 0x40. Initial response of series. I don't know what are reasonable values to settle here.

    (6) together to register 0x07 in hidden PPR. Do not participate in the parallel polls.

    (7) set TASKS and NTNL bits in the AUXRG register.

    (8) the value 0 x 51 (hldi to the order) in the AUXMR register.

    (9) to activate the interruptions; IMR0 = 0xC5, IMR1 = 0xBF and IMR2 = 0x4F (no plans for DMA transfers).

    (10) the value 0 (command pon) in the AUXMR register. Final step.

    The NAT7210 Linux configuration file content:

    minor = 0

    board_type = "gpib".

    name = "gpib0.

    PAD = 1

    sad = 96

    Timeout = T3s

    EOS = 0x0a

    together-reos = yes

    all-bin = no

    together-xeos = no

    together-eot = yes

    base = 0 x 70000000

    IRQ = 45

    DMA = 0

    master = no

    Any ideas on what could be the reasons NAT7210 has failed to receive the * IDN system controller message?

    Steve, thanks for your comments.

    It turns out that the deactivation of functions that print messages in the debug library has solved the problem of reception.

    I have an ipod touch 128 GB... but I'm almost to reach its maximum.

    I want to do is buy a new ipod touch 128 GB and add new music without synchronizing the entire library to it... I have 2 ipods in conjunction with the other copies of the other.

    is this possible?

    What should I do?

    Matt

    When you get the new iPod, you can use iTunes on your computer to select and synchronize the music you want on it, in the same way that you synchronize your current iPod - your iTunes will recognize them as different devices and will remember your choice of synchronization for each, it will not (unless, for example, you restore the backup of your current on her iPod) put the same content on both.

    (I asked for your post be moved to the iPod Touch forum, where you have posted is the iPad forum use.)

  • I have a music library of about 7.6 GB.  I have an old nano iPod which has a capacity of 8.0 GB. When I try to sync my library on the nano it accepts only about 1.68 GB.  How can I fix?

    I have a library of about 7.8 GB of songs iTunes music.  I have an iPod nano to 8.0 GB.  When I try to sync my music on the iPod the IPod does accept that about 1.68 GB.  I tried to restore and re-synchronization-the same results.

    Are all your songs stored locallyin your computer's iTunes library?  iTunes cannot sync the songs that are accessed by streaming from Apple servers ("iCloud").  To check, find a song that does not sync your iPod to your iTunes library.  Do a right click and get information.  On the tab of the file Info window, browse to the location.  This site shows a path of the file to the location the file of that song on your drive, or should I say iCloud?  Expressed the iCloud, download it.

    If this is the General reason why much of the music library will not sync to the iPod, you can select the pieces all affected at the same time, right-click on the selection and download.  Once all the music files are stored locally, they sync to iPod.

    If this is not the cause of your problem, thanks for posting back with all additional details, such as any error message that appears when you attempt to sync.

  • The music disappeared from my library

    A few months ago, I bought an album and today, I noticed that most of the songs on the album had disappeared. I went to the store and saw that it was as if I had never even bought the album.

    What can I do?

    If it does not show in the section bought for redownloading you have checked to see if you have the hidden cloud: hide and expose the purchases made on the iBooks Store - Apple Support, App Store or iTunes Store ?

    If the version of the album you bought is no longer in the store, or if you have moved since the purchase, you can re-download if you no longer have it on your phone, or your library computer iTunes, you will need to copy backup your computer back.

    I deleted all of my photo, My Photo Stream etc. flows including shared library iCloud.

    I have also ensured that the recently deleted album is empty. I disabled iCloud photo library on each device. It should not be a trace of left.

    However, I always told my library back 1.9 GB of my storage iCloud. There is an option to turn it off completely but it will take 30 days, which is a long wait when I don't know if it will work.
