Library of photos after the beta

I used the beta version of El Capitan, and today I've downgraded to usual El Capitan. The problem is that I can't use pictures. Only, it does not support my library and I can't use it. I tried to recover, but 95% it says error. So, what can I do? Y at - it an option to use my library with an older version of Photos or should I wait for the new OS?

You may not use the Beta version of your library with the current stable version of MacOS X.

If your library is a library of photos from iCloud, you can create a new library and make your Photo library system, then download from the library to iCloud.

Or restore the version of your library from the backup you made before you upgrade to the beta version.  But if not, you will have to wait for the next update of the system.

We are not supposed to discuss the beta versions of the software in these forums, so your question might soon disappear.

  • lost some photos after the system update

    Hello

    I did an update on my Mac for OS X El Capitan 10.11.6. After that, I realized that I had lost some of the photos that were stored in the iPhoto application. When I open an app (even if I use the "Photos" application), I can see only the photos that were taken with my iPhone (so the pictures that are on my cloud), but I can't view all the other pictures I've added to the library. I tried to look in the trash, but I couldn't find anything. I checked and I have two files in the folder 'Picture', called an iPhoto library and a library of Photos called. They are of different size, but they store the same pictures (when I opened one of the two app, they show the same photos). Please help me find them! I have not deleted so I can't figure out how and why they are no longer in the iPhoto application.

    Your question is not clear - you expect import photos in pictures to show too much of iPhoto? If it's not the way it works - iPhoto and photo each have their own separate library and it restricted in anything done in one application

    I have a very strange problem. After the conversion to black and white photos in Lightroom (no matter if I chose B & W in the basic menu, set the saturation to 0, the HSL value 0 saturation sliders or choose a B & W preset) my photos have still a few colors in them.     The pictures are taken in RAW with a 550 d or a RX100. Same results for all. I use Lightroom 4.3.

    If you have Lr and PS side by side they appear identical. If they are not something certainly will not, and I agree with ssprengel that it's most likely a monitor profile bad that one of them is choking on.

    If you don't calibrate and profile the monitor yourself (what is the right way to do it), the safest bet is always to use sRGB (or if you have a wide range of monitor the Adobe RGB, but you do not have). > This thread contains a description of how you do it.

    Some information:

    Monitor profiles contain two parts. One, quite simply, white fixed point, correct the response curve and remove color casts. It is loaded into the video card (or the screen itself) and affects all across the system. This is the part of the calibration.

    The second part is the profile itself, which is more complex. It is, in short, a complete description of the features of monitor in three-dimensional space color. Among other things, it defines exactly the position of the three primaries. It takes the calibration in the image, so in other words it is a description of the screen in its calibrated State. But only color management applications to read the monitor profile and debug to display accordingly. Other applications just ignore it and send the numbers directly through.

    Seems the association went haywire. How can I fix this please?

    Bridge worked very well under Vista, but after the upgrade to Windows 7, I can't find one of my photos with bridge files.  Photoshop CS4 find them OK and made Lightroom, but for some reason Bridge does not list the sub folders.  If I click on libraries, he says "no file".  It does not list the pictures or my pictures.  I'm totally stumped.

    Maybe a new external drive with a backup program?
    Using drive encryption?

    Looks like some program prevents the Gallery to save changes, this usually occurs with a backup software that monitors changes in the files. Sometimes the software that allows us to make changes think the file is open somewhere else and it will not save.

    You can try to perform a clean boot to see if a startup program is causing the problem.

    To help resolve the error and other messages, you can start Windows Vista by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot". A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts. This article describes how to solve problems in Windows Vista by performing a clean boot. This article also describes how to start the Windows Installer service and how to reset the computer so that it starts as usual.

    Note When you perform a clean boot, you may temporarily lose some functionality. When you start the computer as usual, the function returns. However, you may receive the error message, or you can experience the original behavior.

    If the computer is connected to a network, network policy settings may prevent you from following these steps. We recommend strongly that you do not use System Configuration utility to change startup options on the computer, unless a support engineer Microsoft directs you to do so.
