• How to install Oracle policy Automation in Oracle Application Server?

  We plan to use OPA with Oracle Ebusiness Suite release 12.1. We run the application Oracle 11 g server. We want to deploy the components Oracle policy Automation to the same server to Oracle Ebusiness suite applications.
  
  (a) how to install the engine of determinations of Oracle, Oracle Server of determinations on Oracle Application Server and Oracle Web determinations? The document setup for OPA is not for Oracle Application Server.
  (b) what is the best deploy the OPA in separate server or in the same Oracle Ebusiness Suite server?
  (c) how to decide whether to use Java APIs using Engine determination or web services using determination server or UI Web determinations for our project? Or what factors should be considered?

  (a) you must install the files of war for determination of Oracle server and Oracle Web determinations according to the normal deployment of war - there is no special action required, this is why it does not appear explicitly. There is no reason to deploy Oracle engine determinations itself to a web application server.

  (b) "better" tends to be more a subjective point of view, but if you already deploy all your web services on the same server as Oracle E-Business Suite, then you should go the same for the OPA. Same story for deployment on a separate server.

  (c) cannot answer without knowing why you're using OPA! If you are looking to integrate with Oracle E-Business Suite Oracle Server determinations would be the wise choice. Determinations of Web is very useful if you want a smart way to collect or examine relevant evaluation data for decisions, as well as the scenarios of "self service". Engine determinations should be used if you have a scenario of integration completely on measure that can use web services or web - applications, but I can't imagine a scenario where it would be logical if you are using Oracle E-Business Suite.

  Of course, these are just my point of view - others may feel more strongly one way or the other!

  We do not provide direct tools for integration with databases, but there are two approaches to integration. I guess that we are talking about get data of a database and registration of the results of assays to the database.

  Write a program to use the API engine server or decisions provide for rules.

  With this approach, your program is responsible to get and set the data to the database (via JDBC or Hibernate in Java, for example). OPA provides an API for performs regulation operations and results, that your program needs to save in the database.

  An alternative is to use the server of determinations that provides a SOAP/XML interface to perform operations of regulation and retrieve results, but you will still need to persist/retrieve the answers yourself.

  DataSource connector

  We have a connector of the data source, but it is a bit misnamed. It reads in the CSV (likely exported from a database) files and provides results as CSV files.

  The connector of the data source as part of a solution to integrate with the database, but you must still provide data base real connectibity yourself.

• Request to license Oracle Data Guard

  Nice day! at all. I don't know if this is already asked before, but I would like to ask for your help regarding my inquiry.
  
  We have an Oracle 10 g Database EE here in our company which is established in a RAC (2 nodes and 1 SAN). Of course, that are already approved.
  
  We intend to implement the Oracle Data Guard.
  
  Of course the Oracle Data Guard will run voluntarily for a disaster recovery, in the case that our CARS (especially the SAN) will crash, we would like to have a stand physically separated by our primary database server (stand by server is completely separate to our existing main server) server.
  
  My questions are:
  
  1. don't we have to take advantage of a new license for custody of data?
  2. what other license should we acquire for the above settings?
  3. we would have a separate Installation of Oracle database on the standby server?
  4. If we have a named user license 150 on the primary database should purchase us a new license user named 150 for the confirmation Server?
  5. are there other things I have to consider in what concerns the granting of licenses for our project?

  OK, here's how my speailist license put, Data Guard as a product is free, but is not the database instance. A physical standby is a database, it must be so licensed, however the expert of the license indicates that licenses you buy for the execution of the physical standby can be ubtained at a substantially reduced rate as they would be called limited licenses. It's not data hold is the cost, it is the cost of an another database on another machine. According to you, current license, you can be covered however, you may not. Everything I say is call a specialist to license Oracle Metalink support, call the guy or gal who has sold you Oracle licenses or appeal and certified Oracle partner/reseller can help you with a specialist of the license and have a licensing discussion/examination before implementation. Oracle support is not those who understand the licenses and how this all works, he did this and like them, always thought that data guard and physical databases Eve were free and included and recently corrected, hard enough I might add.

• Question of integrating short license Oracle ETL

  Hi all

  During deployment short Integrator, everything was going well until I stumbled upon license configuration of the last step IE.

  I sent the OEID on windows 2008 server 64-bit.  According to the documentation, I need to create a cloverServer.properties with the path.

  (It is mentioned that use only the slash (front/rear)?) . I created and then added along the lines in the StartWeblogic.cmd

  I started the server oracle of Integrator short... and found the message of this license has expired...

  I found the problem... In fact I was adding JAVA_OPTIONS in startweblogic.cmd in the path field. Later, I added a line even to StartWeblogic.cmd field/bin...

  and I was able to connect to the Integrator after this correction...

  Important here is that I had used the slash (/) and also the feeling that education about the setting java_options adding should be clearly indicated to add to /bin/startweblogic.cmd instead...

• Microsoft Volume Licensing Activation Center Automated Dialer India activation system is broken, how do I activate my Windows again?

  My Windows 7 Home Premium desktop motherboard no longer works and I replaced it with a new one.

  After that, I see a prompt to activate windows again. I tried to enter the windows product key, but it returns an error 0xC004008 (the activation server determined that the specified product key cannot be used).

  Then I tried calling Microsoft India automated Dialer numbers (http://www.microsoft.com/licensing/existing-customers/activation-centers.aspx), he automated system after taking the 54 figure fails installation ID and responds "Sorry there is a technical problem with the system, please try again later.

  I also tried to contact the management of MS tech support, they work only Monday-Friday (9-6), this is ridiculous, given that everyone has a call 24 / 7 Center these days. This installation is on my home PC and I can't be available on weekdays, in their working time limited to talk to a tech support Executive.

  Microsoft India, please check your systems, Automated Dialer activation for your Volume License Activation Center system is down and you have a customer support 24 / 7! It is disappointing the customer point of view.

  According to global price list of Oracle for E - Business Suite, procurement has been priced as an "option" as a result of purchases of goods. But according to me, there is a glimmer of hope based on the exact use.

  • For example, for a purchase order, you must join Terms & Conditions and these T & C are defined in a model of procurement. Therefore, in this case an addiction off using Oracle to purchase.
  • On the other hand, you may want to define a number of contract Variables, T & C, models of contracts and job creation, comparison and the approval of the process are handled without purchase or iSupplier portal. In this case you use it as an independent module.

  In my opinion, it depends on your exact use markets, and it would be best to contact license commercial Oracle to get a clear answer to your question.

  NO Nathalie, which isn't true. what they're saying is quite true... you can automate things dbconsole so... they are many ready to use of measures in there, simply configure the associated email parameter according to your set needs and you get e-mail alerts in your Inbox. Alerts generated are often faster than a script to demand in the crontab.

  But the script shell scripts is kind of fun... I would suggest that you start with the shell script (provided that you have the time) and the transition to the dbconsole configuration.

  I can't configure the modules that we don't have a license but I guess just for learning/testing is safe/fine to do the installation in the TEST/development proceeding or which is not acceptable?

  You can enable any module for learning purposes, as long as you do on your personal material - I wouldn't on a customer or client hardware
